We sailed the Sun with the UDP in March, so we ate at them all.
Not usually one of the restaurants people rave about, La Cucina on the Sun might be the best location and atmosphere. Going downstairs from deck 6 to 5 - the set up is a galley style with all tables having a great ocean view.
The Osso Bucco was fabulous.
For the actual cuisine - Le Bistro was by far the best 2 meals we ate on the Sun.
The two we were most disappointed in were Moderno and Cagney's.
Moderno the salad bar was to die for, but the meats were dry and overcooked.
Cagney's we had terrible service and the temperature of my steak was way off, twice.
Thanks so much; very helpful!

We are cruising on NCL for the first time & have a $220 OBC for Specialty Restaurants. Any Recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Pitzel!

Thanks Mike; it's not a card. It's an OBC for specialty dining. We also have a $250 OBC that we can use for anything. I wasn't sure if it all gets put into one "bank".

We have a $220 Specialty Dining Credit. Does anyone know if it can be used towards beverages & room service? Thanks in advance!

Thanks everyone for your helpful replies!

Our NCL Sun cruise will end in Chile in January. The ship arrives in port at 8am. I understand the airport is 90 min away. What is the earliest flight time you'd recommend without risk of missing our flight home? Thanks in advance!

You can pre book your specialty restaurants, however, when you go to CS you will not receive a Credit Card refund, you'll just receive more OBC. Now, this might work out ok for you if you plan to purchase other things such as a bottle of wine or something in the onboard shops.
Personally, I'd just wait until I boarded, go to Customer Service and book my desired reservations at that time.
Thanks for your responses. Looks like I'll be booking onboard!

Can one pre book & pay for specialty restaurant reservations then cancel them on board receiving a full credit card refund & immediately rebook to use OBC? Thanks everyone!

You can cancel up to 180 days without penalty
Thanks!

It usually applies if cancelling about a month before final payment
It should be on your invoice or you can find it in the T & C

Does this mean that if I cancel an 18 night cruise more than 180 days from the sail date that there would be no fee? Thanks!

SHIP: Eclipse
CABIN #: 6182
DECK #: 6 (continental)
CLASS: 2D
AREA: starboard, midship
BED NEAR: bathroom
QUIET?: Yes!
BALCONY VIEW: obstructed
BALCONY SIZE: normal
WIND A PROBLEM?: no
SOOT A PROBLEM?: no
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The top of the lifeboat obstructs the view down to the water but one can see the ocean ahead just fine; didn't bother us at all. We liked this cabin's location since it was close to the elevator, very quiet, and less motion felt. 6180 next door has a less obstructed view. We would book this room again unless we could get a 2A-C category in a similar area of the ship for a minimal price increase.

SHIP: Equinox
CABIN #: 1518
DECK #: 11
CLASS: Aquaclass
AREA: Port
BED NEAR: balcony
QUIET?: Noise from treadmills above beginning at around 6:30 am and ending at around 11 pm. We wear earplugs to bed but were still awaken by the sound in the morning and had trouble getting to sleep if we went to bed early. We spent little time in the cabin, so it was not a huge issue for us.
BALCONY VIEW: Great unobstructed view all around except for the bridge which we enjoyed looking at. We didn't have the overhang above or the supporting posts like many of the 10th and 11th floor rooms have from the middle to the rear of the ship. However, we spent so little time on our balcony that I don't think this would've been a big issue for us.
BALCONY SIZE: normal
WIND A PROBLEM?: windy at night when the ship was moving faster
SOOT A PROBLEM?: no
PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We would not choose Aquaclass again. The rooms are in a poor location of the ship; (noise from common areas above, bad for people with motion sickness, large overhangs and beams). We can live without the iced tea that we didn't drink, the canapes that we didn't eat, the flower and aromatherapy diffuser, the concierge that we didn't use, and the upgraded soap/hair products. The only things that we would miss are the free water bottles, free access to the Persian Garden, and breakfast at Blu. We only ate dinner at Blu the first half of our cruise because of the very limited menu!
