  1. Hi all, Thanks for the info! It is one of the only tours remaining (so unfortunately Viator and such are already sold out on the date). My husband took Spanish back in high school/college, so he could understand some of it (hasn't used it since) but unfortunately, I do not know the language. It's very last minute (our original tour - In English - just gave us the cancellation this week), but I am trying to find anyone who has taken the tour in a language they didn't understand, and how it was.

  2. Hi all, I have never gotten the internet pkg before on Royal. In the past on NCL you could buy on board for a certain length of time - let’s say the day or a few hours. How does it work on Royal? Do you have to buy the package in advance? If I wait until a few days into the cruise, will it be less money? Also is there any way to get a few hours of internet etc - I just need it to check email from time to time, every few days and what they are offering online is 24/7 which I don’t need.

  3. Hi all, my upcoming cruise is on the Anthem going to the Canary Islands. I am very excited but on one of the islands something I really wanted to see - Mount Teide - is only offered as a Spanish language tour. It’s a fairly good price too and I am really considering it - it’s either that or go with a non ship tour which I am a little concerned about as it’s almost as long as the port time.

Has anyone ever taken a shore excursion in another language (that you didn’t understand)? How was it?  The place I want to go is supposed to be beautiful but I know I will be missing out on some of the descriptions etc.

  4. Hi all,

It has been a long time since I've sailed on Royal, I know on some other cruise lines if the price significantly drops (and you haven't paid the cruise in full), you may still get the discount between the two. Has anyone ever had this happen with RCCL? We booked months ago - directly on website - and were shocked when the price dropped significantly this week. Any advice?

  5. My understanding is, in the past, you could get your FCC cruise back as a cash/credit refund, as long as NCL cancelled the cruise on you. (At least that's what my TA said.) So the argument is that they changed it without informing us. My cruise has been booked and cancelled three times. All I want at this point is my money back. I am scared of the company going under, and I also am unsure I would want to cruise in the "new normal" - masks on the lido deck, social distancing on the ships, only cruise sponsored excursions.

I know that airlines were forced to give refunds (and not credits) during the pandemic. I got a direct refund from an airline and they didn't even cancel on me, I cancelled on them! I wonder if there is an entity that can force the cruise lines to do the same?

  6. I think they will make it mandatory; however - some people won’t be able to take the vaccine (the UK already came out and said those with severe allergic reactions shouldn’t take it) so yes for a very small amount of people there will be a waiver. And I’m pretty sure they will have to allow it - I can see that being a massive lawsuit if you are discriminating against a class of people. And let’s be honest - you can still get the virus after taking the vaccine - nothing is 100%

Personally I will take it just so I can travel without hassle.

  7. Hello,

Myself and a friend are planning on cruising from NYC to Bermuda next summer. I have recently started planning and it seems we have three options: 1) RCL Anthem 5 day 2) NCL Breakaway 7 day or 3) Celebrity summit 7 day.

I have cruised NCL before and thought it was decent but I have never been on Celebrity at all. Royal is my first choice except I was curious if most people thought that five days was too short (it's the only itinerary where you only have one night and two days in Bermuda). And I hate having to rush! We are looking for a ship that is larger, has a fair amount to do and has sort of a more lively crowd. Any suggestions on the three options? Thanks!!

  8. Hello,

I am considering a flight that flies NYC-Munich, has an hour and 20 min layover there, and then I take another fight to Bucharest, Romania. I am very nervous about this short of a layover, although most of the flights seem to have between and hour and two hour layovers for the flight I am looking at. Can anyone tell me if this is enough or not? (The airline is United, if that matters)

  9. Thanks! I will check on the ones in Coba, if anyone has any tour company recommendations, let me know!

I think Cozumel will be the only place to see the ruins as the other ports are Jamaica, Grand Cayman and a private island :-)

  10. Hello,

I am going to Cozumel on a cruise in March, we will be there for 8 hours. I have been to Tulum and would like to check out the other ruins, if I'm able to. Unfortunately my cruise doesn't offer any of the Mayan ruin trips through NCL. Has anyone gone through another company? Which one and how much time did you get at the ruins? Thanks!

  11. Hello,

I am trying to decide which company to take snorkeling here. The main ones seem to be Caribbean Sea and Big Beards. There is half day and full day tours - I am leaning towards the half day one. Does anyone have any recommendations between the two? Thanks!

  12. Hello,

My cruise starts out on Easter Sunday in San Juan and I was wondering what I could expect that day - will everything be closed? I was hoping to spend the day sightseeing but not so sure now. Has anyone been on a previous year? Thanks!

  13. I am cruising to St Thomas in Oct on the Allure and have been trying to decide between shore excursions.

There are several that go to mountain top but don't go to paradise point. Which is the better view/place to go? (Paradise point is not next to the place we will be docking but I have heard a lot about the sky tram there.)

I am thinking I will go to Magen's Bay and then one of the views.

  14. Hello,

I am cruising in Sept to Nassau and recalled from previous posts a sea lion encounter somewhere on the island. I have looked in the cruise excursions, I see dolphin ones, but that is it. Does anyone have any info on this? The companies that offer it and how long it was? I have only been on ship sponsored excursions before but would like go do this if possible. Thanks!

  15. Hello,

I was thinking of going on the singles cruise on the Allure this year, but haven't looked into the age range yet, according to a few posts it's an older age group (I'm 30) but maybe this isn't true for the Halloween cruise? With several hundred people I thought there would be more of a mix but maybe someone who has been on a Halloween cruise (with SC) could weigh in?

Also, never heard of the 20-30s one on the getaway / is that a new company?

    Thanks!

  16. Both of these tours received great reviews. I am going to this port for the first time and can't decide between the two. I do enjoy snorkeling but I also would enjoy seeing the town and the shops. Has anyone been to both? Any opinions on what you enjoyed better? Thanks!

  17. Is there anyone who has done robinson's speed boat tour and Bernard's tour in this port? I am going back and forth between the two as I would like to see some of the town itself but also like snorkeling. Any recommendations for first time in this port?
