Hi everyone!
We’re headed to GSC in a few weeks. A while ago I reserved the Ocean Studio Villa. I’m wondering if I should change it to the lagoon studio villa???
I can’t seem to find a lot of info on whether or not the ocean villa location is a good location? Convenient to the bars, restaurant, etc. Does the ocean villa section seem “far away” from the places you’d like to walk to in silver cove? Just as important, what is the beach and swim area like at the ocean villa section? Is it nice? Rocky? Etc...
PS, I do plan to provide feedback on the ocean, lagoon area, bar, buffet, etc when I return. The info available on NCL is very generic and the web seems to be very repetitive, generic and not very detailed to answer the questions of this wondering mind 😉

Quick question: If you book the Atlantis Aqua-venture Excursion through NCL (Bliss), do you get your tickets to Atlantis prior to leaving the ship?
Backstory, recently saw someone post on social media how they waited over an hour on the dock waiting for the bus, then further bus delays. The person may be a complainer...
I would like to know if I'll have what I need to get into Atlantis when I get off of the ship in case the bus transportation looks like a hot mess, I can grab my own cab and go. I'd rather just make things work than to be miserable and complain.
PS: I looked into booking direct with Atlantis and it's $95 more than NCL (we have 5 people in 3 cabins so have $50 excursion savings per cabin).
Thank you!!!

If you have iphones, save your money. If you have imessage turned on, you can text other folks on the ship using the wifi from the iconcierge app. You do NOT need the paid for wifi. You can text anyone with imessage turned on, including folks back home. Do not try to send a picture, it cannot handle pictures and will try to go out of the imessage and then you have to reset it.

Does Carambola charge entry fee or only chair/umbrella rental?
How crowded do you think Carambola gets with three ships in port?
Thanks,
Lori

We will be going to St Kitts with Carnival, and are looking for an excursion to go on. My 25 and 20 year old sons will be coming along and they are looking to do something fun, where there will be music, drinks, where there will be people their age so that they can enjoy. any suggestions?
thanks
I would suggest Reggae Beach Bar. Decent beach, decent food and that is where the 20 year olds head to... monkeys visit the bar/restaurant. I just find it annoying that the owner anchors his boat not far off the beach. He could actually put it to the left where no one swims. He likes his boat

I pesonally wouldn't do it since if someone has your internet package, they will have access to your onboard account.
One has nothing to do with the other. One thing that could happen if someone was selling a "limited plan" they could add more MB or Minutes. Since it's unlimited, then it really doesn't pertain.

That could have been merely from them designating their guarantee cabins to the people who booked guarantee.
Thanks. I did finally come to that conclusion this afternoon. I guess I didn't think about it since such high categories went.
The ship is near FULL.

Is anyone aware of a group cruise on BA 11/26/16?
At about 28 days before sailing, 30+ balcony and above cabins were booked up. All remaining balcony, spa and Haven were booked in one afternoon. The only cabins showing are a few oceanviews and some insides. I've been checking the status of cabins - considering upgrading. At noonish, plenty of cabins. By evening that same day, all were gone.
I'm a bit concerned as there were more than 30 cabins (balcony & above) were booked up in one day.

Problem yesterday on laptop, fine on cell phone.
Today is fine.

I am on here if I have a trip booked (or looking at a cruise to book). I sail all cruise lines as I'm driven by itinerary. I visit the branch of the forum I'm about to sail.
It's clear though that there are several on here that are on here all the time... they are usually the ones with nasty responses.
CC is just not what it was 8+ years ago :(

Yes they do now, I learned of it from another poster. You can contact them for details through their site. It's pricey from the cruise pier but no taxi is needed to and from West End. Not sure if you still need to taxi from Great Harbor on Jost over to White Bay or not. I assume so but another question to ask!:)
Thank you Blue Water!!!

Thank you for explaining Lotalye!
And thanks! I am generally a smaller ship, not all the bells and whistles kind of girl, but it is hard to beat the studio pricing especially when I am only a subway ride from the pier, and I figure that this way I can never be told I can have no opinion on the mega ships not having been on one. :)
You are 100% correct + the UBP doesn't hurt :D
Besides, is there such a thing as a "bad cruise"? NOPE!!!

Yes, I probably should HAVE called yesterday. As stated in my original post, I DID try yesterday calling the number I had for my PCC and as I stated his voice mail indicated the offices were closed through at least Friday. I am new to NCL and did not realize they have satellite offices that are not affected, so I figured if his vm said "closed through at least Friday" all the call center was.
I was fine with the cabin I booked and would have been fine had I not been able to change. It's just a little bit of extra sunshine.
But thanks so much for making me feel so welcome. TBH I'm iffy enough on this cruise as it is - if the majority of NCL people are as "helpful" as you two are I may well cancel and go with a friendlier line.
WrittenOnYourHeart: My "Seriously???" comment was for the guy/gal who posted above me. I felt it was an unwarranted comment that they made. It was also a RUDE comment.
Good luck on your cruise... you'll have a blast :) We will be on the Breakaway late next month!!!

Don't you think you should of called right away???
Seriously????

There is plenty of fun stuff to do in the ports you listed... but if you are determined in going to resort for a day... try resortforaday dot com. You can search by port.

Customs will allow you to take more back from St. Thomas but St. Maarten is much cheaper (and fun shopping on Front St.)...

New Horizons is the ferry service out of West End, you can check the schedule on their site. With the ferry you actually dock and walk a ramp off the boat so not a problem. They also offer private pick up in Road Town but that is pricey...
You are so knowledgeable blue_water and thank you!!!
Question, does Horizon Ferry Service run a private charter? I believe it's a 46ft Tiara... which, I'm not sure what one is.
Thanks,
Lori

You're welcome 😄
I'm in the BA, so unfortunately, I won't get the chance to bid...

Download your iConcierge app. You can often connect while waiting to board and reserve the settings they hold for onboard booking.
-
I asked my TA... here's a copy/paste from her email.
"NCL just released a new program today called “Invitation to Bid” - however NCL is only offering this to guests on October 29th or later sailings onboard the Escape or Getaway."
-
No excursion...
There are a few charters that will take you to Willy T's + some other places... maybe Pizza Pi, Angel's Rest... google them (they are probably a better stop than Willy T's).
You can try SunnySide Up Charters... they will pick up from either Tortola or St. Thomas (they are based in St. John).
There are quite a few similar charter companies... maybe you can get 5 or 6 people together to split the cost of charter.
-
No longer allowed! But, you can pre-order a case of 24 and have it waiting in you stateroom when you board for .....wait for it.........for the bargain price of $70.74! A savings of 55% over the individual purchase price aboard ship!:D
Wow, 55% savings.... what a bargain!!!

Hi Everyone
i haven’t gone to GSC yet (due to go next week). I did see someone post on FB their pics of the beach/water in front of the Ocean Studio Villa they rented. So I thought I would share. I’ll try to update after our GSC visit... In my opinion I’m happy with the ocean view beach since reading that the lagoon seems to get low tide in the afternoon and the water level goes down quite a bit.
