  1. I agree with others, dinner doesn't normally take 2 hours. We always cruise with our 3 kids (youngest was 9 months) and mostly they eat dinner with us as a family. We have had cruises where we were seated in an area that was all families with kids which was nice. We usually bring a small toy for he kids to play with but the servers get to know you and ours always would bring a fruit cup or plate of fries or something immediately as we sat to get kids started with some food. The waiters have been so great with our kids, walking around with them, or bringing them special food or dessert. We've had great experiences eating in MDR as family!

There has been sometimes our kids wanted to eat with camp and we would drop and they walk back to camp with the staff from lido.

  2. I wish I had an answer for you but truth be told, I don't even know what the Alchemy bar is all about! I might have a couple Miami Vices in a weeks time so I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to such things. Does the Alchemy bar make a drink out of whatever you ask them to? Inquiring minds want to know......

Alchemy bar is so awesome that is a huge consideration when we book our cruises! The mixologist are awesome and very knowledgeable on mixing drinks. They sometime will do fun things like stacking the mixing cups then pouring like 10 at a times etc. There is a great menu but you can tell them what you like an they will make a great drink, they are super fun, personal people that will know your favorites when you sit down to the bar. You need to check it out when you cruise next.

  3. We were on Elation this year before the dry dock. Did it get the Alchemy? I don't see Alchemy listed on Carnival website, but when we were on it there was this bar that we thought would be perfect to turn into Alchemy. We are going on Paradise later this year and were really hoping for the Alchemy in this dry dock.

  4. We just got off Conquest with 3 kids, Not our favorite ship especially for families with kids. They don't have waterworks, only one waterslide and don't have some other sportsdeck stuff like ropes course.. We did 15 days on the Sunshine and didn't want to leave, loved that ship.

    I'd say:

    1. sunshine

    2. magic

    3. conquest

  5. We are going on the Vista 1st week in March. It will be our sons 1st time going to circle c. He will be 12 and moving up from camp ocean. If anyone has a chance can you grab the circle c activity schedule and post it. I'm trying to plan dinner etc..around the hours he will be busy. I'm thinking they start and end later at night than camp ocean. TIA

We are just off the Conquest where my oldest daughter was in Circle C. I agree with I wouldn't not plan meal around the activities. The kids don't always do what is listed, I think the Circle C directors play it by ear, make sure your son goes the first day or two. My daughter said there were kids who joined half way through the cruise and seemed tough to fit in since there was already the ice breakers / meet and greets.

They can freely come and go so many times she would meet up with kids and get pizza or play basketball and not necessarily be in Circle C room.

  6. We just got off the Conquest on New Years. We only picked that cruise because of the ports and dates. We had a great time, loved the staff, loved Haley CD, thank goodness it has Guys and Alchemy bar. It's not our favorite ship but that could also be because we have 3 kids and love the waterworks and ropes course etc. which this ship doesn't have. We are booked on the Vista next and very excited.

I know many love the Conquest it just wasn't our favorite.

  7. Will be on her in November. Can't wait! Did you go to the crab shack , (I think that is the name and get a lobster Roll and how was there prices?

They say she is to go in to dry dock Between September and October does anyone know what make overs she is getting? Thanks for any info!

We didn't go to crab shack but looked, my husband wanted clam strips but they were $6-7 and since we can get those anywhere off the boat we decided not to waste the money. :)

Haley (CD) said Conquest is going to dry dock in Nov. And they are focusing on redoing the dining areas.

  8. Silly me...she'll be 18 months on this cruise (we're cruising in Dec also and she'll be 2 on that one). What was there for your 1 year old to do? Was there a splash pad/water play area?

I'll look into the special needs request. She may have outgrown the milk allergy by then (keeping fingers crossed); as she's now okay with milk baked into things and just puffs up with fresh milk (yogurt, cheese, glass of milk).

    Thanks for replying!

There was some options for under 2 in Camp Ocean but limited. Sea days from 8am-10am they can play in Camp Ocean you can do drop off or play as a family. Port days there was drop off times that corresponded to the time at port. At nights from 10pm-1am you could drop off (had to pay extra) it's call night owls.

There is not waterworks (water splash pad) on the Conquest.

Our daughter loved all the music so we spend a lot of time on lido or in lobby listening to music while she ran around dancing. Plus the outdoor play area by Camp Ocean was great too. There is a mini golf up on top deck, also good area to toddle around while family plays golf.

  9. 1) Camp Ocean. I'm not too sure as to the specific activities, but I hear Camp Ocean is award-winning and I've seen many good reports for it. If you want to know more about it specifically, I would recommend starting another thread on here.

    2) Playlist Productions, Variety Show Act (Juggling, magician, etc), the PG comedy shows, and of course the live performers. I cannot speak for the Variety Act or the comedy shows but I enjoy the playlist productions and I really love the live performers! My favorite show was probably the 80s Pop, which Flick being a close second.

    3) Yes, 24/7. There is a pamphlet in your stateroom that says which items are free and which will cost you something. I have never ordered from the pay menu, always the free one, and I'm just fine. Salads, sandwiches, cookies, stuff of that nature are free.

    4) I'm sorry, I couldn't give you an honest answer about alternative milks. You could always ask a chef once you board and I'm sure they'll be able to figure something out.

If you think of any more questions, let me know!

We also just got off this cruise. I have 3 kids and all have been in Camp Ocean. My youngest is 1 so there are some limitations to when kids under 2 can go. Camp Ocean is great, has programming almost all day, will take the kids to dinner and does have night time sitting until 1am (fee though). My kids love it and all beg to go. They would do activities/games, science and discovery, arts and crafts, puzzles, dancing, music games etc. We liked that some times my son wanted to do the activity and sometimes he just wanted to play with toys and the kids could do either. There are a bunch of counselors and they were all great. Also on the outside of deck there is a nice size outdoor play area with slides, playhouses, ride on toys, like the step 2 / little tykes kinds. We would hang out there sometimes while the kids played and we could watch the boat leave a port.

Milk alternatives I'm not sure on either, but we wanted to get milk/choc milk for my kids at times where it wasn't offered and we just asked and always had no problem anyone getting it for us.

There is a special needs dept and they do want to know any diet restrictions in the main dining room. https://www.carnival.com/about-carnival/special-needs.aspx Maybe you could ask special needs dept.

    Have fun!!

  10. Yes those chairs are there. They can also be found on Deck 14 Forward.

It works pretty well for the most part. It was broken in the elevators though so the elevators were ungodly hot. But most of the public areas were air conditioned and kept at a comfortable temperature. My stateroom was also kept at a comfortable temperature, and could be adjusted. I had an inside on Deck 7 Forward. However I heard mixed reviews from different people, some said their insides were too cold, others said too hot. No clue what their ship position was. But based on my views, aside from the elevators, the AC was fine.

We were on the same Christmas cruise. We were also on deck 7 midship balcony room and AC was great, no problems and could be adjusted in room.
