I have done it twice. I enjoyed it. First time didn't catch anything, last time I caught a tuna. I would do it again.

I was on the same cruise as you. Fun trip, i thought the service was top notch, service on the Freedom was over the top good.

I believe the Victory is 11 laps for a mile. To me the best time to use the track is in the morning, after that you get too many people on it.

I've fished in Belize before, Email wtg_792@hotmail.com for info on fishing. Last fishing excursion I did was River Fishing by boat.
Thanks for the info!!

*Bump*
still would like to hear from someone who has been to Progresso recently and has a recommendation for a restaurant on the beach that has good food and drinks. I have tried a couple in previous years and they were really good at the time but it has been a couple of years. So, I was looking for an opinion from someone who has been there more recently.
I just booked the same cruise for spring break next year!

hmmm I never thought about that. I have a one, but just bought a charge HR so since it's on back order and I won't get it for a while, not sure how it works. I guess I always thought it was wifi. Learn something new everyday. Ok, call me stupid, but will bluetooth work on the ship? Just to connect to that app?
On My Iphone if I have my phone in airplane mode, I cannot synch my fitbit to my phone, so I believe you would need internet so you would probably have to get the more expensive WIFI package.

We did the ShoreExcursioneer tour S1728 to Papitos on January 1. Before I dissect our experience I want to say that we would definitely take this excursion again at this price with these options. As far as the transportation goes, we docked at Punta Langosta pier for our stop at Cozumel. Our pickup point was about a 10 minute walk from there down to directly in front of the Puerta Maya pier. We were given our Punta Sur Park admission bands before getting into our transportation. Our party of 4 had one regular commercial cab to ourselves for the approximate 30 minute trip to Papitos. We got to Papitos at about 10:00am. At that time there was plenty of room in lounge chairs under the umbrellas, but there always seemed to be plenty of space available. We thought the service at our chairs was excellent. The servers were readily available without being annoying. We felt that $16.00 for a bucket of 5 beers was certainly reasonable. Pictures on the website show dark patches in the water out from the shore. These are areas of a low growing sea "grass" that can seem to limit the area for walking and splashing. There's a large inflatable float platform anchored in about 3 feet of water. A school of fish was hanging out around the anchor rope that would make it a fun place for children to view some fish. We brought our own snorkel gear so did not use the vendor's equipment. We did not see any organized guided snorkeling tour during our 4 hours at Papitos, but possibly no one was interested during that time. The buoy marking the viewing at the reef area is about 250 yards off the beach. Bathrooms were adequate if not plush. We weren't aware of specific changing rooms and just changed in the bathrooms. We ran a tab at Papitos for our food and drink and paid for that and our excursion balance when we left. We made our arrangements with our taxi driver for our pickup time. We would suggest that you are clear whether that is the time you would like to be picked up or is the time you would like to be back at the pier. We didn't stop at the lighthouse or at the crocodile viewing area which aren't listed in the excursion, but arrangements with your driver might be made to do that for some extra compensation. Our comments might sound rather critical, but we had a great day at the beach at Papitos.
I was there the same day as you. The Snorkeling guy told my kids try not to walk in the grassy areas, stingrays like to hide there. It was a nice day. friendly staff decent food.

Go Pack GO!! Big win this weekend.

I just got back from Papitos, did the AI, I booked because the food on the website looked so good, I am a foodie, the menu we got was nothing like the menu online. I was a bit disappointed, typical tex/mex stuff. Saw some of the food from the non AI menu, looked a bit better. Shrimp and Ceviche not offered. Nice beach and the snorkeling was very good. I went in expecting a great foodie experience and didn't get it, the food was good, except the fried fish was over cooked, just wasn't what I was expecting. Questions message me.

I ask that the ice bucket is always refilled, and if it is I will give 10 to 20 extra.
-
Maybe I'm too laid back but I haven't cared one bit about the changes over the years. Live music? I could care less, having to ask my room steward for ice? Oh darn I wasted 5 seconds of my life. Food is still better than what I eat at home.
I understand those who say it's not what it was. Life doesn't work that way. It's like when your grandparents would say " well back in my day". We'll we don't live in that day, we live in 2014. The product today has evolved into what it is. People today like to say "It is what it is". If you don't like it or are unhappy then it may be time to try new options, because the product is what it is. It will never go back to what it used to be, and will continue to evolve. It may be better or worse but the fact remains it will be different.
Well said. I think half of the people on here are just here to lambast CCL. It seriously pisses me off.

March 22 2015 cruise was canceled. What would you do about booking another cruise?
I just did a mock booking, at carnival's website is showing it is available to book?

We contacted our cell provider in advance and paid $25 for unlimited roaming charges. It was well worth it to know the family could contact us at any time. We checked in every other day with them. And they called us occasionally with a few questions. After we returned-we had to call again to disconnect it, which was easy to do.
Which carrier has unlimited international roaming for $25? I may switch.

The Butterfly museum is cool, but not sure if she would like it. BO's fish wagon is a great place to grab lunch, cracked conch is awesome.

How was a window on a ship boarded up? How was the board attached to the ship? Do you have pictures?

I highly doubt that they would let a 20 yr old in the club. Probably met the guy hanging out on the ship somewhere else.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami several times, nice rooms and right across the street from Bayside mall.

It looks like he is one level above deck 5 I believe, he would have fallen 1 deck, so his risk taking wasn't that much of a risk.

I love my Olympus TG-2, very happy with the picture quality. I have had it for a year with no problems.

Victory is the reason we have taken a break from Carnival.
Really? If you are no longer cruising with Carnival, just on the board to bash them?
I was on this years Super Bowl cruise on the Victory, and it was a great cruise with the staff being over the top nice.

I am starting to get pissed that the rest of the schedules have not been released yet. We need to plan out vacations, far out due to wife's company downsizing her dept., only 1 or 2 people can be off at anytime. I want to take a 4 or 5 day out of Miami for our 20 yr anniversary. Come on Carnival get something out there, before I decide to look elsewhere.

So Celebrity is giving you the Premium drink package for free? How does one get these deals? My understanding it's 130 a day for a couple. I will switch from Carnival if i can get that deal.
