Carnival have published their version, though the details of refunds are still blank at the moment. Just have to wait and see what they finalise on, plus no doubt going to be changes by December anyway as its all so fluid:

So, you had Covid and were isolated on a recent cruise?? How long did you isolate?
Credits don’t generally take very long, as a rule.
A little over 100 hours. Second person in the cabin tested positive day before we got off. I never tested positive by rapid antigen test, self or ships ones, but have all the same symptoms so suspect a PCR test would have shown it. Isolated at home same as others.- 3

So, you actually cancelled a cruise? Or got Covid on a recent cruise to get credits?
That is where you are waiting for credits from??Credits for isolation period. They return onboard purchases to the debit/credit card and return isolation days as a future cruise credit. No idea how long it takes, did ask while on the ship and they couldn't say.

I’m sure I read somewhere that a sector of Emerald was the quarantine sector?
And why wonder about the HVAC instead of careless, thoughtless passengers? More likely to be an unwashed/unsanitised passenger passing by, wiping their hands on stairway bannisters than the AC.
Somebody posted another part of Emerald that was cordoned off and it was speculated that entire section was in isolation.
Didn't touch any banisters, and we were 3 cabins in a row isolated that was why. Of course could of been the room steward... Could of been this... and could of been that... could of all got it off the ship and brought it on... like I said it is what it is... Cabin next to us was sick by the second day so almost certain they brought it on.
All good... hope they do the credits soon, itching to book for November!- 1

Yes 24 positive passengers disembarked on Sunday prior to current cruise.
I do wonder about that number... as I could say who at least 6 of those 24 were from my tiny experience getting off the ship and that was just one part of a corridor on Emerald deck.
If true and our one section really did have 25% of all cases on the cruise that would really make me wonder if it was the HVAC system.
I guess it is what it is. -

I don't know if that is because her next stop is a NSW port, or if they will list all ships on the East Coast. Pacific Explorer is currently yellow (0.3 to 3%) and Coral Princess is amber (3 to 10%)
Cruising and COVID-19 | NSW Government
Probably is because of the NSW visit, as it was not on that page before.

However, the section that shows the vacc certificate now asks me to 'Retake' and 'Upload additional document'. I do not know what is required. The Princess office is now closed. Can someone help??
Did you originally upload a photo/image of the certificate or the PDF certificate itself? Using the original PDF seems to fail, but without giving an error message at the upload time. Had to make an image of it for the system to work properly.
Edit: Oh see it sorted itself... well.. there you go.. technology works in the end... sometimes 😄- 1

Extra odd in that I just got emails from two TA's selling on tomorrows, with prices down as far as $60/person/night for an outside. Says can't book online have to call as so close.

Price difference for the one I put in was about $250 for two people, took it with Princess for the other benefits but will probably cancel it if they don’t match. Match is with the actual company Princess use for the tour. The two I was going to match when I found it was gone were $220 and $365 direct, both $600 with Princess. Contacted the first tour operator already and they agreed to refund if we miss the port for some reason, they were surprised how much Princess were charging for their tour.
So yes when the difference is $30 I wouldn’t bother, but when it’s $300+ it’s a big difference.
-
I know it was hit and miss but Princess seem to of removed the Best Price Guarantee for shore tours completely, the form has been taken down, the FAQ section gone and the bit at the bottom of the shore tours page removed.
Where it used to say: "If you find the same excursion for less elsewhere, we will offer you 110% of the price difference back to enjoy in the form of a non-refundable onboard credit"
It now says: "We offer competitive pricing, friendly service and unmatched destination expertise."
Put in a request before they changed it, not heard anything back yet after a week+, and was going to put in another when I noticed it's all gone. -

So period has been increased from six weeks to 19 weeks which as you say is a long time?
Went to Europe at the start of this year and got delayed after the Ukraine fighting caused flights to be cancelled. Got cancelled exactly on 6 weeks, but also auto restarted instantly upon return about 10 days later.

Yes, $40 is bumped a bit, but not as much as Royal Caribbean's $100 Chops Grille.
Well it was US$29 which is AU$41 so they dropped the price a bit in some ways. A few lucky people seem to have booked at the US$ price and been charged that amount in AU$ 1:1 though.- 1

No valid reason for buying ahead of time.
Such an American answer :D for those outside the USA and not paying in US$ there are valid reasons, specifically the pre-cruise exchange rate is often really good. So at the moment purchasing in advance in Australia gets you an exchange rate better even than any Forex company could offer. For an Australian on a 10 day cruise for 2 people you would currently save circa $120 on premium package buying in advance with the current RCI rate over buying on board with bank rates.

My wife is lactose intolerant and has never had a problem in getting lactose free milk on the ship. We contact the special needs dept after making our reservation to make them aware, and you do need to ask for the milk in the windjammer or mdr.
Done that, they are the ones that first replied about the biscuits :) we shall see when we get on ... a few weeks without would probably do me some good anyway.
-
I asked them about lactose free on Voyager and they sent me a reply about being able to take my own gluten free biscuits ... asked them again and they said there was lactose free milk... I asked them to verify it was real milk and not Soy, I was specific in my original request, they never replied....
On the Singapore to Sydney next month ... if what RCI has told me is wrong (as I suspect it will be) then I will just go without I think. I was impressed last year that Celebrity had lactose free though.

"TRS facilities are also available at cruise liner terminals at Sydney’s
Circular Quay and Darling Harbour, Melbourne’s Station Pier and
in Cairns, Brisbane, Darwin and Fremantle. For Hobart and other
seaport departures, please contact your cruise company to see
whether TRS will be available."

Perhaps cold water sterilisation with Milton could be an alternative option for you? That was our backup for when we could not use a steam one.

The main pool could actually be pretty quiet given the temperatures around the South Island...

If you request the upgrade to Premium prior to boarding do you have to pay the upgrade charge or can you wait and have it billed to your onboard account?
The reason for the question is reading several of the posts it sounds like folks are saying they paid at time of request to upgrade. I recall reading the fine print on the original 1-2-3 Promotion (I wish I kept a copy) and it read that you can request an upgrade at anytime by calling Celebrity (did not have to call your TA) - if I remember correctly, you did not have to pay the upgrade charge immediately, it would be added to your account onboard.
I wish someone had a copy of the original offer and could post a copy or exact quote from the flyer / website. (Of course, I am sure somewhere on the page there is a disclaimer about withdrawal or changes, but it would be nice to see.)

You will have issues with latency even if the bandwidth was OK.
Depending where you cruise you might find a mobile with 3G works, we had coverage when going up the east coast of Australia with Telstra... I remember using Skype as we went around the top end... their coverage extends 20-70km out to sea.
-
Yes you can... remember though it will be in US$ and covered by US rules/laws with regards to consumer protection which may be different to what you have in Canada.
So...what exactly *are* the Covid protocols in Aus?

Seems they have blanked the whole protocols thing now... it was all there 20 minutes ago.
