  2. This is the email I received yesterday from Princess.

    Important Information: Payment Processing Error

I want to inform you that we have been notified by our third party payment processor that they incorrectly processed a pre-authorisation transaction yesterday against your card. This has been reversed overnight. As a consequence, no monies have been taken from your account. We apologise if this had caused you any concern or any inconvenience.

We are able to confirm that this was not a result of a security breach and that no personal information has been compromised.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, we recommend in the first instance you contact your bank who has been made aware of this situation. If they are not able to resolve the matter, we recommend that your bank contacts Elavon Merchant Services

At present nothing has been taken from our bank account.

  3. We are sailing on the Caribbean Princess on the 31st July around the British Isles, plus 3 days in London & 7 days driving around Devon & Cornwell etc.

Could anybody who has first hand knowledge tell me what the average temperatures & weather would be like around that time so we know what to pack.

    Thank You

So nice to see some cruisers coming to our part of the UK. It would be nice if Princess had a port stop near our counties to give more cruisers the opportunity to see another beautiful part of the UK.

I agree with the previous posters. Mix and match and pack layers. Have a wonderful time in Devon and Cornwall.

  4. Provide tea and coffee making facilities in the cabin.

Provide cruises out of the UK, especially to the Canaries during the winter months. It would be nice not to have to travel to the Caribbean for some sunshine.

I agree. Cruises to the Canaries during the winter months would be great, especially as air fares are rising.

  5. LOL. Mike has been out relaxing on the "Lido" for the past two hours. Or should I call it a patio? He complained there was no ice cream bar where he's now sitting. hahaha.

    Pia

Now you know what to get him for his next birthday. :D

With only about five weeks to your next cruise, are you sure you have enough time at home to answer all those emails before the next lot arrives.

  6. When I booked my TA cruise from Southampton to FL a couple of days ago. Princess quoted an Air Add-On of £390 pp from FL to London. I have the usual booking time scale to decide whether or not to accept this price. I know single flights can often cost more and I don't know if this is a good price or not. In the meantime, I'm looking around to see if I can get a better deal elsewhere.

  7. I just wanted to report our experience with the new alcohol policy. We packed a bottle of alcohol in our checked bag and our luck finally ran out. Our luggage arrived late with a note stating that the alcohol in our bag was removed and destroyed. They do not return it at the end of the cruise. So I guess they're getting serious about the new alcohol policy.

    Susan

Susie, sorry to hear that. It was nice meeting you both on the South American cruise this year. Send me your email address and I'll send you photos of our evening in the Crown Grill. wchrisjan@hotmail.co.uk

  8. Being UK born and bred, drug up proper as we say in Norfolk, I appeciate all the positive comments that have been posted about our fair(ish) Isle, but I would like to say that just seeing London, Liverpool and Edinburgh is not seeing the UK in it's best light, to really get a feel for the place you need to see the other UK, ie, The Lake District, the Derbyshire Dales, Yorkshire moors and Dales, Cornwall, the New Forest etc,I can also recommend my neck of the woods, North Norfolk and all the pretty little towns and villages, where the beaches go on for miles with nobody on them, I could suggest other very picturesque area's (subject to the weather), but like us when we visit the USA, we are limited by finances and time by what we can get to see.

We have visited the US about 6 times and Western Canada about 5 times, (family in Vancouver), and consider you residents there very lucky, especially Wyoming and BC residents, our favourite state in the US, most places have something to recommend them, just need more time and money to visit them all.

I agree with injebreck99. We have some beautiful places to visit in the West Country. Just recently we have had a cruise ship in the bay and it would be wonderful if Princess would sail this way and give you a further taste of our country.
