  1. I would definitely look into Carnival. Horizon is the newest and also sails out of Miami. I like carnival for family fun and these newer boats have family rooms with perks for booking them. at best you can get reasonable connecting balconies. If you are hesitant go through a travel agent instead of the line directly to help alleviate issues that might come up. I plan to do Horizon next year and one of those nice Havana rooms. But there is still time for you to find another cruise and probably at the same price you got this one for. glad they gave you your deposit back.

Thankyou for this fantastic review!! We are sailing June 1st and tried finding good pics of the location of our board walk balcony. I found one video of 10729 and that was taken so I got 9729 at the very end near the rock wall, it says views are obstructed but your pics look ok to me. I love your views of the board walk and I hope I am happy with that room. I didn't book Hiro yet because I wanted to just catch a glimpse from the room. We love people watching. How was the noise for you?

  3. whatever the excursion is, you can do it privately, cheaper and better. No, you will not miss the ship

That was a thought too. I'm always about doing my own excursions. I'm looking for a snorkel and beach excursion with time to explore Nassau before getting back on and Carnival has a popular one but the 830 time is sold out. Ive been trying to find the company online, its a speed boat with stops at about 4 islands and 45 min at Rose beach. I wanted to have an early excursion time and we want to explore and have lunch before we head back. Haven't been to Bahamas in a long time

  4. I did RC Allure during new years, leaving out of FL. Its one of the best New years celebrations ive had. The pricing was expensive but it was worth it. They kept the Christmas decorations up and the central park area was very nice. The ship was beautiful and got you in the spirit despite the tropical weather :). The NYE party had everyone all dressed up and we partied til about 2am. Of course you can do Christmas B2B with the NY cruise for more fun. I'm thinking of another RC or NCL for this NY.

  5. I despise the bigger ships. Even Fantasy-class is too big for my tastes. My all-time favorite ships were NCL's "little white ships," 700 passengers max.

I actually like this idea. Instead of bigger boats there could be smaller, more luxurious, creative cruise ships and adults only ones wouldn't be bad either. European river cruises have this market covered but should expand more to the seas.

The only reason mega ships really exist, in my opinion, are for the families and giving everyone of all ages something to do without everyone being crowded in a few areas. I couldnt possibly cover everything in 7 days on Allure but I appreciated all of the areas they had so that you didnt feel you were in over crowded pools or theaters. Ice skating rinks, the aqua theater, zip lines, and rock climbing walls, flow riders are all for families and adult thrill seekers. I love the central park and board walk areas of the Oasis class ships because those are places to go sit and relax. It wouldnt be all bad to me to have a very creative small or midsize ship with an interior courtyard, interior balcony rooms, and nice amenities. Adults really do want to have those places to get away from kids on ships besides bars, especially ones on a couples trips (Thats why I seek all inclusive vacays with adults only resorts clear.png?emoji-grin-1677) The Solarium in the oasis class is great, why cant carnival do something like this instead of Serenity which is just a closed off area of lounge chairs and 2 spas. But it would be nice of a cruise line to get more creative with ships. I dont think we need bigger boats, just more creative ones.

  6. I agree its time for a megaship. The 2 major things that get on my nerves with this line is the Cheers package and the internet prices. Cheers to me just is not worth the price for folks that do wine and beer but no liquor and all adults in a stateroom having to purchase the package is not fair. Id like to see a package for just wine and beer or a set all inclusive rate when purchasing the cruise that would include 1 or 2 night specialty dining. A one set price for internet would also be nice.

Carnival is very family and budget friendly but bigger, better adults only pool areas are nice like on the other cruise lines. Cloud 9 on the newer ships is the way to go, just extend it, add a pool and make it free for adults to come and chill. I love the adult areas in NCL And RCL.

Another thing that is bothering me is the room décor. When are they going to get rid of that awful pink color in the older ships (conquest line and below)? Ships dry dock about every 5 years and its about time to change out wall paper, carpets, couches, bed colors etc. I loved the Breeze rooms, it looked very modern. I think adding better amenities like serenity area, are great but a complete makeover of the rooms would be nice to see and if the pools and slides are old they could be replaced too.

  7. I did this on the Breeze last year. I liked it very much and it was worth the price. I did book on the 2nd day at a discounted rate so if I were you I would wait because the first day you are going to be busy anyway. I don't remember the exact price but I paid around $70 I believe. The therapy spa was a great get away from the crowded pool areas. Aromatherapy wet sauna was there as well as a dry sauna (laconium) with heated lounge benches. there was also another wet sauna when you go through the dry sauna, a quiet area to relax and a great view.

  8. Girl this review is fantastic. I love how it just goes on and on and seems like it will never end. You are giving me alot of Ideas especially Izumi. I thought it was just a sushi bar but me and my crew of 4 might try that one evening. I vacationed in Mo-Bay in jamaca bout 2 years ago and remembered going to Scotchies and Pork pit and im determined to take everyone with me to either one even if it is a 40 min ride. Rice and peas, Jerk pork, plaintains and a ginger beer mmmmmmm. I hope we have time after our early tubing excursion. And the Beef pattie is definitely going to happen. I see you picked up that Walkerswood jerk seasoning and im hoping to bring back as many jars as I can, they are bout 4 bucks a jar at the Jamiacan food store back home. Thanks for also showing the compass daily, much appreciated. Atleast we have an idea of what will happen even though ours might change slightly come December. We have the same itenerary on the New years sailing. WOOHOOO Cant wait!!!

Oh one other thing, I read that the people who have a cabanna in Labadee have a different lunch buffet than the regular lunch on the beach. Thats why there is steak and seafood skewers. Is this right?
