We recently received a move up offer for the Equinox where the minimum bid for a sunset sky suite was substantially lower than a regular sky suite (415 versus 1540).  Could this be real or just a clerical data entry error?  I assume there is no harm in trying for the sunset sky suite, or am I missing something?  This whole move up process is new to me.

@rjp50We have the same thing on our Equinox sailing in May. Wonering why the Sunset Sky Suite is so much lower? Did you bid? Were you successful?

My prime rib in the specialty restaurant on beyond didn’t look any better.

We noticed that on Beyond as well. The days of the big, juicy steaks seem to be gone. Our ribeyes in Fine Cut were just sad looking 😞

  3. It is time for Celebrity to revamp or swap out Tuscan. The food has gone way downhill since covid and really miss the fine dining on the Millenium class ships. We have a Infinity cruise next month and will most likely be our first cruise ever without a specialty restaurant visit. Thats how disappointed we were with our Tuscan visits on the Summit this past January and on Reflection in December. Murano is consitently wonderful!

Agreed. 7/7 sailing with my wife.

Received email about 2 months ago.

Booked in Ocean View. Given offers of $150 porthole, $200 sunset, $200 edge balcony, $200 concierge.

System would not process bids lower than $240 for sunset and $350 for concierge on the slider however. Placed bids originally at $150 and $210 only for Porthole and Edge respectively as we felt the concierge was a waste and the walk for the sunset rooms is undesirable.

3 days passed by. Both able to adjust. Adjusted both to $180 and $230.

One week passed by. Still able to adjust both. Increased to $255 about 2 weeks ago for Edge Balcony cabin. 4-5 days later changed to PENDING at $255 Edge pp and $180 EXPIRED for Porthole Verandah.

Currently STILL pending. No credit card charge.

I have a similar extended pending situation. All bids expired except one pending that can’t be modified. So locked in and at their mercy waiting to see if we get the upgrade. Please let us know if/when you get an email or they charge your card. Thanks.

  5. Going thru same exact thing. Family of 17. 8 cabins. Booked through same travel agent but rates came from 2 different groups she had. Told we all have early seating but will need to see maitre d when we get on board to work out table assignments and placement. We got great pricing but it’s a hassle you don’t want on vacation..

I have booked about 6 different Christmas cruises on Celebrity dating back to 2016.  Before the pandemic, dining packages were often available and every specialty restaurant was available for booking individual reservations.

By the time our Christmas 2019 (Solstice) drew near, there were almost no packages available.  4 months before sailing, Celebrity did offer for a brief time a  package of 2 dinners + lunch for $100 pp which was a bargain compared to the single dinner prices.  For just our holiday sailing, the individual dinners were raised to $60 (Tuscan Grille) and $65 pp (Murano) for every night except Christmas Eve and NYE.  For those two evenings, dinners had a special menu and a special price of over $125 pp.  Presumably these elevated prices were driven by high demand.

On the day we boarded Solstice, the Celebrity Today newsletter did offer 3 dinners for $180 (screen shot).

For our Christmas 2020 (Millennium) booking the specialty dinner prices were even more expensive and I had decided not to buy any (family of 4, so the cost is 4x!).  I don't recall seeing any packages either.  Of course it didn't matter since the sailing was eventually cancelled.

We still hold bookings for Christmas 2022 (Equinox) and Christmas 2023 (Solstice).  For our Equinox sailing (screenshot), Murano is offered for sale for the 1st night only.  Individual Tuscan Grille dinners are offered for sale as well.  No dinner packages.  So similar, I think to what you are seeing.

Our Christmas 2023 sailing does not offer any specialty dinners partly because it is so far away and partly because there is a good chance that the Singapore to Hong Kong sailing will not happen.

My advice is to keep checking your Cruise Planner every day on the off chance Celebrity decides to briefly offer a dinner package.

  7. Thanks for all the feedback. Murano was still priced at $45pp. I do miss the $20pp days lol.  Interesting that The Lawn Club Grill is at $70pp. Once you add on the 18%, I just don't see spending that kind of money extra for dinner at that restaursnt. We are just off the beyond an tried Le Voyage at $75pp but at least it felt like a special meal. Lawn Club doesn't have that vibe for me.

  8. We are booked on the XMAS 22' Reflection sailing. Finding it really odd that Murano is not listed under dining in my cruise planner. Also no dining packages are available at all for our sailing? Anyone else experience this? Is it possible they are pulling the Murano restaurant our of service as they ready to revolutionize the ship? Anyone have any updates on Reflections?  Thank you!

Looking forward to hearing more about your Le Voyage experience.....

We went to Le Voyage last evening. The restaurant has an intimate design and service was outstanding! Once seated we were offered a glass of Vueve which was a nice touch. The menu is not overly large but had enough variety. I had a Salmon appetizer that was mouth watering good. Also tried the Onion Tart which was delicious. The entrees were were also very good but not stand out good, though the presentation was beautiful. I had filet and my husband had the lamb chops. All in all it was an excellent meal.

Have you been able to get (real French) champagne? I was on the inaugural and there was only California sparkling or Cremant de Loire, so curious to know if they’ve fixed things since.

Yes. They were serving Vueve tonight in Le Voyage

  11. We are on Beyond now. Sailed from Rome yesterday. I have heard different reports of how many passengers are on board. It’s safe to assume it’s between 1000 and 1200.

First impressions have all been great! This ship is by far the most gorgeous cruise ship of its size that we have seen. The decor is outstanding in the public areas. We had breakfast this morning in the Oceanview and were very happy with the entire experience.  So pleased that all the food is being served by attendants. The area is very spacious and well laid out. Food was as plentiful and as tasty as any other Celebrity ship we have been on. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

We are sailing in a Sky Suite. Our Retreat host is the best we have had. AJ is a true gem. Attentive and genuinely nice. We aren’t usually super high maintenance but did request different pillows and some help with our outlets. More on that later. He is always available with a smile. The suite itself is lovely. Spacious with plenty of storage. I really like the bathroom design and the tub/shower is easier to get in and out of then I thought it would be. There is definitely something to be said for being one of the first to use the suite. Only comments are the bed is a bit firm and the box of plugs on the desk was not designed well at all. If you are bringing any hair dryers or plugs that have a bulky end like my Dyson blow dryer, it will not fit. And the ship will confiscate your power strip if it’s in your carry on. (that’s what happened to us.) I suggest you pack a small adapter in your luggage or bring a different dryer. They do have a dryer for use but if you have a decent amount of hair, it will be a challenge. You need to hold a button down while using.

The dining experience at Luminae has been very good. Staff and service get a 10. The suites on this sailing are the most booked category. I would guess about 75- 80% booked. Everyone knew our name and it’s only night two. So they are definitely working hard to make the experience exceptional. Food overall has been very good.  Certain dishes are 10’s - like the poached Lobster appetizer we had this evening and the Short Rib from last evening. Others not as much but still good. Everyone has different palettes so someone else may say differently. Bottom line is their is nothing to not like about the entire experience this far. If the dishes are not to your liking, they more than happy to bring you some thing else.

We try Le Voyage tomorrow. I’ll pop back in to this thread in case there is a question that I can answer. But all in all, be very excited about sailing this ship. It’s outstanding. Cheers!

Can someone please explain how to get a Certificate of Recovery if we are out of the US and need it to fly home? I’ve seen some comments that say you can get them online, but how do they get your original test? What if the way I found out I was positive was by taking a self test (not proctored)? Does that matter? Thanks!

When you first get Covid you need to have a PCR test done and a lab report showing you were positive.  Once you have completed isolation and are symptom free and at least 10 days has passed you can have your healthcare provider write a letter as out lined below.  There are also some telemedicine drs that provide the letters. These are celebrity’s requirements,

A Certificate of Recovery must meet the following requirements:

    • Be on official letterhead from a healthcare provider, public health official or telehealth provider showing:
      • The Provider’s name, address, phone number and
      •  The Provider’s address
      • The Provider’s phone number
      • Confirmation of your recovery and completion of isolation
    • Be typed (not handwritten) and signed by the provider
    • Must confirm the sample collection date of the positive PCR test, which must be a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 180 days before the departure date of your cruise
    • Date of validity must extend throughout the duration of your cruise
    • Include a positive result document for a COVID-19 PCR test taken a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 90 days before the departure date of your cruise.
      • An antigen test result will not be accepted with a Certificate of Recovery.
      • The test results document from your test provider must include the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your positive result.
      • This can be a printed document, email, or telehealth app notification.
      • Fully handwritten doctor’s notes (such as those written on a prescription pad) will not be accepted.
      • Minimal handwritten components (such as a check mark on a “positive” box) are acceptable as long as the other required information is printed on the document.

  14. Hi. We are on the Celebrity Beyond and will be sailing from Italy to France and ending in Spain. We will be heading to the airport same day we disembark to catch a flight home. Can anyone please explain the EU Passenger Locator Form? I read Italy dropped it on May 1st, but France still requires it. Also is there another form for entering Spain? Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

We are on the Beyond right now, in an SV cabin.

I’ll start by saying this is a very beautiful ship. Very contemporary styling, like a very upmarket boutique hotel. We’ve not previously cruised on Edge class and we’re enjoying the feel of the ship.

This is the inaugural sailing so there are going to be teething problems - we’re seeing maintenance crew much in evidence in the corridors - and it’s clear there are staffing shortfalls in the restaurants. Service in the four MDRs was poor on the first four nights but they seem to be hitting their stride now. We made reservations for every night in the four different MDRs but you still end up queueing anyway and I’ve seen other diners complaining loudly about this. I’m sure this will get sorted fairly soon though.

The rooftop garden is a good addition and a much better use of all that space on the top deck. The Sunset bar is great and there is plenty of shade if you need it. Lots of space on the pool deck and we’ve not noticed too many chair hogs, although we’ve not had the weather yet for lying out in the sun.

We do miss the Sky lounge, we used to enjoy heading up there after dinner for the late night entertainment - the Club on deck 4 doesn’t have the same vibe but it might do in time. The Martini Bar in the Grand Plaza is the main hub in the evening, and the bartenders put on a good show!

All in all the plus points outweigh what we’re missing from the Silhouette (our favourite ship to date) and we’d definitely consider another cruise on the Beyond in the future.

    Thanks so much for sharing!
We are going to be on the Beyond in. Couple of weeks. Have you tried any of the Specialty restaurants? How is the wifi? Any suggestions of things not to miss? Enjoy your trip!
