I'll be in my first suite on our upcoming pearl cruise & have been reading this thread to try & determine an appropriate tip. Using the analogy of going out to dinner 15% lowest acceptable tip for normal service. The 15% of cruise fare doesn't seem out of line with what I've paid for our 2BR SC if you count everyone you would tip during a cruise. Example total cost 5 day cruise=3098 x 15%= 465- DSC 240 = 225- 100 min. butler= 125 - 50 min concierge = 75 - 25 min steward = 50 to spread around to all the other people that make our vacation special. I'll probably tip more than this % as I need to tip kids club staff, bartenders, casino staff & I always give the waitstaff extra since I worked my way through school in the service industry & I know how hard they work. I am wondering though as a 1st time in a suite cruiser what types of things the butler would do for you other than what has already been mentioned? What things do you ask of your butler?
