Do not bring an extension cord with you. If you do it'll be confiscated from your luggage. Be sure to add extension cord to your special needs request. We emailed a list of our requests to special_needs@celebrity.com and received a confirmation reply from special needs a couple days later. Everything was waiting for us in the cabin when we arrived. Have a nice trip!

My DH always brings a short UL listed cord in his cpap bag and has never had it confiscated.  Granted he keeps it with him during embarkation, so that might make a difference.

I didn't realize it was that easy to pick up covid. I'm on the Edge January 30th  and will be wearing an N95 mask indoors and don't plan on conversion with anyone unless outside. How does that work in the MDR when food orders are taken? Could I pick up from wait staff when being served?

We are second of 2 cruises starting 1/4. We have just asked to be seated away from others.  So far so good.  Otherwise we just wear our masks around others. (Kn95 mask) in casino and in ports.  Have worn n95 in taxi’s. Passed debarq Covid test between ships.  Halfway thru 7 day Apex.  Feel pretty good that we haven’t been exposed.  But guess time will tell.

Yes mask mandate is in effect for this cruise.  We have not seen anyone without masks when inside.  But outside masks are not required.  Watching NFL games outside  on the big screen on the Roof Top Garden is fantastic.  Second game currently chilly.

I must need to clean my glasses as I have seen numerous people without masks and even more with them under their noses and chins.  Big difference in Silhouette and Apex.  Not a bottle of hand sanitizer to be found in casino.  On Silhouette there was one by each machine.  At dinner In Normandy we asked for seats away from others.  We were seated at the most distant table in the dining room. Which we thought was going to be great.  Until they started seating others.  Our waiter could not get between our table and the nearest one to us.  When we left, over half the tables were empty.  No need to cram us up like that.  Maybe others like that close social atmosphere, but I do not.  Will give it one more night and I may be having my dinner from room service or the buffet.  The ship is a beauty though!

What ports are you visiting? Are you getting off the ship at any?

    Thank you,

    Kel

We have stopped at St Marten, St Lucia and in Barbados today.  We are getting off the ship and visiting the port areas.  Buying a few souvenirs and having a beer of two.  Just trying to do what we can to stimulate the local economies.  Not much, but we have never been big ship excursioners anyway.  Hopefully will grab a taxi to the beach in Antigua tomorrow as long as we are able to dock and our Covid numbers stay low.  So far has been a very relaxing cruise.

We are scheduled Feb 5th on Reflection. We have 2 Celebrity excursions booked.

Are any who have cruised or are cruising soon canceling excursions because of Covid? I assume most require a bus to get to your destination so the risk is higher.

We are booked for the VIP Paradise lunch on Dominican Republic and Mofongo and Mojito experience in Puerto Rico. Anyone done either?

    Thanks for your help.

    Kel

On silhouette now and apex on 15th. Avoiding excursions on both.

How has the food been so far?  I found the food great and the service a little below normal.

Sadly for masking people interpret the rules differently.  If the rules are masking the cruise lines need to actually enforce them.  On my Disney cruise, many interpreted actively eating or drinking as merely sitting in a dining or drinking area.

Keep sending updates and look forward to hearing about your experiences.

I think the food has been very good thus far.  And our service has been good.   A little crowded for my liking. Asked to be moved last night.  We were within 3 feet of adjacent tables.

We have self serve in Oceanview but everything else is served.

Afternoon update. The captain said we now have “a few” positive cases among crew and passengers.  But no specifics. I find that disturbing and a serious lack of transparency.

Rumors have now started up because of cancellations on Royal Caribbean, with four ships losing one or more cruises.  Is this March 2020 deja vu? Stay tuned

Agree with you.  I am on this cruise also.  I would like to know the numbers.  ‘A few” just doesn’t cut it for me.  Asked to change tables in MDR tonight as we were within 3 feet of persons at the next table.  I really feel that my biggest risk for contracting Covid is in the dining room as I am a consistent kn95 or n95 masker.  I got it from some crew members that the first 2 crew who tested positive had contact with positive crew on the previous cruise.  We sail Apex after this one.  Was told that the most that Celebrity is booking is 50%.

I am on Silhouette Jan 14 and 24; back to back. Can you tell me if the gym requires a mask; specifically when on a machine like treadmill. And must a mask be worn while getting a massage? Also, once seated in a restaurant, it's masks off for the duration of dinner I assume?

I am on silhouette now.  Have had 2 massages. The therapist was double masked.  She said mask not required. I wore mine while face up.  Couldn’t tolerate it when face down. It pushed up to close to my nose and mouth.

Heard just now that the casino is closed on the Silouette due to a small outbreak. They said they think the casino is a possible site of infection. Can you confirm what’s going on. We are scheduled to depart 1/14.

I didnt realize the posts were numbered. Unreal I’ve green on cruise critic for years and never noticed. I hope you enjoy your cruise I’m hoping i see less than 1000 next week too. Loooking forward to more posts.

Casino opened at 4 pm today.  Apparently lack of staff.  Assuming it was Covid outbreak associated with casino crew on previously sailing.  No announcements regarding Covid.  No news, good news so they say.
