Please do not worry about an unqualified person doing the test. You are the person who actually does the swabbing with somebody overseeing that you are doing it properly. No medical knowledge is needed and nobody else will touch you.

I love these, but I guess the supply must have been limited, or we were in the wrong place when they were being handed around! 😞
So glad we were not the only ones that missed out!

Thank you, Bonnie.
We are also doing our own research. The UK Honorary Consul to Cape Verde responded today stating that he did not think that there were any mandatory vaccination certificates required for Cape Verde but that I should check with the nearest Embassy ( In our case, this is Brussels) and I am still awaiting their response.
We followed the same route and are also waiting for a reply from Brussels.

Lovely photographs as usual and very interesting trip report. Thank you.

I am 5'6" and my husband is 6'5" and although we agree it is a small shower the curtain has never interfered with us in any way. We are bemused by the amount of comments regarding the size of the shower but have enormous sympathy with those that find it a problem. Our main shower at home is probably at least three times as big as the Azamara model. I would never let a piece of plastic interfere with the wonderful Azamara experience.

Thanks Cinnamon. Everything looks lovely and March 20/19 will be here before we know it.

Thank you for the lovely photos. We loved the Royal Clipper but then we discovered Azamara.

I do hope the dog is okay now.

We left the Journey on Friday after a great cruise where everything ran like clockwork for us. Your posts have reminded me about what we left behind :-(
Enjoy the rest of your holiday. Wish we were there.

It seems we were super lucky yesterday. Timing is everything.

We arrived at 12.30 and walked straight to the queue for the tender. Five minutes waiting and then ten minutes later we were on board and in the cabaret lounge. Thirty minutes later we were having lunch on the sunset deck. Sadly no sun or sunset in Greenwich but everything else is fabulous.

Really really excited now. Did intend to watch her pass our part of the Thames but ran out of time.

I hope that gets everything out of your cistern

I know this is not very patriotic but I feel I could offer Mr uktog a World Cruise.

I don't feel at all embarrassed simply grateful to Riocca for bringing the matter up so it could be discussed. However I would be embarrassed if I boarded next month and paid for an upgrade and then discovered we did not need it.

Well done HYC. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.

I resent the suggestion that we could make this up to cause difficulties for Azamara. Over the years Cruise Critic has been a great forum for sharing information, as this change happened on our watch so to speak we felt that we should pass it on.
Recently there has been a culture creeping in of shooting the messenger and at times the forum has been a nasty place to be. So in future we will not be seeking to participate and leave it to others to have their credibility questioned.
Please do not stop posting and sharing your cruising knowledge. In the very short time I have been cruising and reading this forum you have provided me with so much information and saved me so much time I would really miss you.
I am grateful you spent time on your holiday to bring these changes to our attention and hope you enjoy the rest of your time on board.

Thank you for checking the situation Bonnie. We will be onboard in three weeks and feel sure we will have a super time however we will not book another Azamara cruise at the moment.

This whole thread is so depressing although I am very very grateful to Riocca for the info. We only discovered cruising and Azamara two years ago and absolutely love it. We have had three great cruises and have two more booked. Our next one is less than a month away and it is upsetting to see that the cost of that cruise now is just about half of what we paid when we booked last year but that's life I suppose. We were very close to booking another cruise for December but the change to the included drinks has made us think again. We thought we had found our perfect holiday but now need to think again.

Thanks for answering my query Hiccups. I think it is probably something I can live without.

We are new to cruising. Eighteen months ago we tried an Azamara cruise and we loved it so much we have enjoyed two more trips on Journey since then and have two more booked.
I am learning loads from this thread but am devastated to learn about afternoon tea being available in the Living Room. I have missed about fifty!
One question I need to ask is what is a Yeti?

I am finding it hard to believe what has happened. How can Azamara behave in such a shoddy way? I have never read all the terms and conditions - does anyone? My heart goes out to you and I really hope something can be done to salvage your holiday.

Once again we need a ‘like’ button.

Good to know it is available but twice the price of a local salon. Fine if you have OBC
