  1. I'm hoping someone could help answer this question.  It's been a very long time since I cruised out of the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro.  I'm travelling with my 95 yr old mom who can walk with a cane but can't walk that far.  Can anyone confirm if the bag drop-off is still relatively close to check-in/security?  I've requested a wheelchair for embarkation via the NCL access desk but it says you can pick it up after security and then I was hoping to go to the Lattitudes line with the wheelchair.  Any insight on Navigating check-in would be greatly appreciated....Michelle

  2. I know someone will be able to help me decide if I will purchase the soda package. About me, I drink wine (which I bring with me) and an occasional cocktail. I sometimes drink club soda and occasionally will splurge on a ginger ale.

How much is a soda to purchase?

If I decide to purchase the soda package in board do my two cabin mates also need to buy it too?

    Thanks

  3. Hello!

I have only ever cruised Disney so I would like to get some information if anyone has some pictures of the picture window ocean view cabin?

My friend and I have a cruise booked on the Norwegian Sun for August and we are super excited to be checking out Norwegian but I didn’t recall seeing any photos of the picture in the window ocean view cabins?

Does anyone have any photos to share?

    Thanks!

    Kat

I will look for pictures and figure out how to share them. I’ve had ocean view picture windows one on an Eastern Med and the other on Panama Canal. Love the picture windows. They are large but most of all are set back several inches from an already 6” shelf. Plenty of room to stash stuff too.

  4. Thanks. But I don't see anywhere to purchase it ahead of time.

If you have a login to NCL, go to your reservation, Explore and Plan. Then look on the left column “what’s on board” select Spa and Thermal suite. If you don’t see the Thermal Suite Pass listed then perhaps it not available to purchase this close to your cruise date. You can always call NCL for availability. Good Luck

  5. Hi. Going on the Breakaway in 3 days. Does anyone know have much a SPA pass costs for a week?

    Thanks,

    Phil

I bought a spa pass for our upcoming 9 day Breakaway for $239. There is usually a discount if purchasing prior to the cruise. Login to your account or call NCL/Travel agent prior to cruising for pricing. Have fun

  6. It seems like everyone pretty much takes advantage of it, So if I am reading it correctly, there is no incentive for the bartenders because they are already getting tipped before even doing any work. So if 80% of the ship gets the UBP as a free perk, it seems like the service may not be as good. So how many people do take advantage of the perk?

I dont know how to do a poll, But are you taking the UBP as a free perk?

I did take the free perk.

85% seems rather high. Speaking for myself, I’m usually the only drinker in my group. It’s very costly to pay the gratuity for myself and traveling partners so I’m better off paying as I go. With all this being said, I most times will leave additional cash for the servers hoping they will benefit from my direct contact. For the one or two club sodas I drink a day, I do get strange responses when they find out I don’t even have a soda package.

  7. We used Uber from FLL airport hotel to port of Miami the $ was $29. Fortunately for us it was our first use of Uber and they gave us a $20 coupon. Total $9. What a bargain. We used early walk off and cargo an Uber car at the port to FLL for a 10:18 am flight. Even with heavy traffic we arrived with plenty of time to spare. The charge was $55 but still cheaper than NCL bus transfer or private taxi.

  8. I'm hoping they are going to restart it soon. I'm watching on periscope from a user that is on location the video is #NorwegianEscape @ Pitbull christening in Miami. the author is Amanda Tinney

Try searching using that name. it says it's full but on all accounts the real event hasn't started.

  9. I don't know if this has been answered yet but I'd like to know how you use the arcade on the Escape? Specifically how are charges applied? Do you purchase an arcade card to swipe in the games or do you swipe your room card every time you play a game? I hope someone can answer this. Also how much games cost per play, standard arcade prices?

I don't know how much the arcade games are as I don't play them but to use, just swipe your room key. If it's a concern for your child I think you can pit a limit on their card. The limit includes all purchases.

  10. I've purchased OBC in the past and have not had a problem. I'm sorry to hear of your challenges, that would be extremely challenging when your money is no where to be found.

I've started purchasing the NCL Gift Cards http://www.ncl.com/giftcard that I can use at the end of the cruise to settle my bill. If by any chance there is money remaining you can use it towards a future cruise. On my last trip, my cousin applied her entire card at the beginning of the trip and had funds remaining, Guest Services reimbursed her in cash.

Note: It takes several weeks to receive your card. I also believe your name is imprinted on the card too!
