  1. We just returned from the 6/25 FABULOUS Alaska cruise on the Solstice with Captain Tasos. Both of us had the premium drink package and, for the most part, it worked flawlessly. We’re pretty faithful about reviewing our account daily for incorrect charges and we found several. Even though we had the premium package, we were charged an additional $1.18 for several drinks. We made several trips to Guest Relations and they reversed the charges along with an apology for the inconvenience. It’s not so bad when there isn’t a line across the adjacent dance floor but it was inconvenient and incorrect. Just checked my AMEX and guess what....one more charge. Granted it’s not that much ($1.18/drink), but when your choice of alcohol is listed in the premium package you should not incur additional charges. Hopefully this is something that Celebrity will button up quickly...or is it an additional revenue source??? Be alert and enjoy your cruise!

  2. This was an awesome cruise! The crew, ship, itinerary and weather were perfect. Our Captain Tasos was very impressive; his navigational skills into Daws Glacier were unbelievable. He spun the ship in a 360° view for all of us to enjoy. We were very lucky to have Brent Nixon, Marine Biologist, and Miss Amanda, Alaska historian, on the ship as special speakers. In Ketchikan, we enjoyed the Duck Tour with Captain Rosaire and Jacob and all the eagles we saw. It was very interesting and they both were very entertaining. Juneau was very exciting with the whale watching tour. We saw lots of whales!! In Skagway, we did the White Pass train; words cannot describe the breathtaking scenery. In Victoria, we took a scenic bus tour. Our guide made the trip very interesting. The city is fascinating and the flowers are gorgeous. Nicola was the casino host and what a great job she did! All her events were well organized and lots of fun. Paulina was our Captain Club Hostess...such a bubbly personality and desire to make your cruise extraordinary! She invited us to view the Daws Glacier from the heliport...she gave us a lifetime memory. We also had an exceptional cabin steward: Roman in 1602. What an example of how things should be done! We look forward to seeing him again on the Edge in January. We really had exceptional weather and were very fortunate. WiFi was good, food was excellent...especially in Blu. Embarkation and disembarkation were flawless. My only caution would be to check your bill for the premium liqour package; we both had premium but were charged several times for drink upgrades. This was just inconvenient because we had to go to Guest Services to have the charges quickly reversed. Since this is the ONLY negative I could remember, I believe you can see that this was one of the best cruises EVER!

  3. We're booked on the Equinox for the 14-night Christmas cruise. This is the first year in many that we have not seen a price reduction and we check faithfully. We'll hold out to the last minute for final payment in case Celebrity gets generous!

  4. It's been a couple of years since I last used this port with a Celebrity Cruise. This weekend I have friends (some physically challenged) Sailing out of Bayonne. Boarding was not an issue as the porters handled the bags. At disembarking, each individual had to handle his bags including hauling them on the bus in you seat to the terminal. Has this procedure been changed? Would there be porters available to assist?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  5. I've cruised for many years and various cruise lines. Have to admit that Celebrity is my favorite and has my loyalty. I was shocked to see two dogs on the April TA. The one dog was obviously a well trained service dog assisting a lady on a scooter. The dog was at her side and extremely attentive....very well behaved. The shock to me was the small white dog that was being fed from the table in the Oceanview Cafe. The couple had the dog in a baby stroller but would feed it throughout their meal. This was bizarre! Only saw this dog one time but was not very pleased.

  6. I was first exposed to acupuncture on a Celebrity Cruise and had a wonderful experience. Dr. Lori, the licensed acupuncturist, was a chiropractor and was very skilled. As a sufferer of RA, I experienced such relief in my back and hands that I obtained a licensed acupuncturist when I returned home to continue my treatments. If you have any kind of pain, it's certainly worth a try and far better IMHO than medications!
