  1. I had called Walgreens in  my hometown.  They said it would take 72 hours for results.  So I called our county health dept.  We are getting the rapid antigen test done and will have our results in 20 minutes.  Will have written result and emailed to me to take with us.  Best part.......NO CHARGE!

People are paying over $100 at the airports for this.

Please help spread the word, call your county health department.

Anyone have any recent experience getting tested in the Tampa area?  Will try to book a CVS or Walgreens but hoping for a back-up place.  I see some community sites but not sure if you need to be a resident?  And it looks like most urgent care type facilities only book for current patients.

I am in Illinois.  I just called our county health department and made and appt for the rapid antigen test.  We will have results within 20 minutes, written and emailed to me.  Best part is No Charge!

I heard some airports are getting over $100 per test!

Try your health dept.  Walgreens told me it would take 72 hours for results.

We are also on your cruise and feel the same way about testing Positive on Tuesday while in perfect health and no symptoms. (Triple vaxed also) We almost decided not to start packing until we passed the test.

I noticed very few rooms are available for our cruise. but unsure whether that means it will be a full ship, or whether Princess just doesn't want to sell any more rooms and many are being keep empty on purpose.

Where are you getting the covid test at within 48 hours of sailing and getting results before you fly?  We fly the night before our cruise.  We've been told it takes 72 hours for results.

In Missouri we went to Walgreens, by appt, on Fri for Sun sailing, for the 24 hour result test (forget name).

Had results same day, when we got to the Princess checkin showed the Walgreens email and was all good.

We always print our boarding passes out and I tape them front and back with clear packing tape so they don’t get ripped or fall off. Always see those plastic pouches sold on Amazon littered around the drop off area, they get torn/lost easily.

Do you mean the luggage tags?  I always laminate them. I just cant find the spot on the website or app to print my luggage tags.  Never had a problem before..

Luggage tags can be printed off of the personalizer on Princess' web site (usually 75 days out).  No boarding passes available.  Medallion Class app is your "new" boarding pass.

Covid Test is 2 days before embarkation (not 48 hours).

I have searched all over to see where to do this and I can't find it.  Can you give me specifics?

Sorry, I have looked all over on the website and the app

  6. I have several questions.  Do we still print off luggage tags from the website to put on our luggage for them taking it to our cabins?  I have not come across that yet.  Also, how about boarding passes? Do those have to be printed out?

Now, this Covid test.  Does the TEST have to be done within 48 hours of sailing? or is it just the RESULTS that are required within 48 hours of sailing?

Any special excursions suggested for Bonaire and Curacao?  I have one booked for Aruba.

    Thank you in advance!

  7. Does anyone have any highly recommended things to do on St. Thomas?  I would really like to go to St. John.  Can anyone recommend a great excursion to going there?  Also, is it better to go to the area with the green sea turtles or the other beach area they talk about?  And through Princess or private excursion, it does not matter to us.

    Thank you in advance!

  8. Has anyone stayed in this cabin?  Wondering if there is any noise from the Lido deck above it.  Also, Is there an extra overhang on the balcony?  I was told people above you can not see into your balcony...

We will occasionally rent a car and go to SawGrass Mills or the Casino. We have luggage storage and can get around. It costs us about $50 for the day.

We Uber to the airport, pick up the car- then drop it back at the airport before our flight.

So the Uber to the airport and the rental car for the day only runs about $50?

  10. After disembarking from our upcoming cruise in the morning, our flight home is not until 7:30 pm.  Any suggestions for what to do for a day in Fort Lauderdale? Also, what do we do with our luggage?  Will have 8-9 hours to spend.  Thinking about the Fun Center and renting a Scoot Coupe.  We did this in Cozumel and loved it!  Is a Segway hard to balance on?  Would love to do the Venice of Italy boat ride by the millionares homes too.

Would a taxi be the cheapest way to go do something?  Im wondering if the Fun Center has a place to store your luggage.

    Any advice would be appreciated!

  11. Hi! We are booked on the 10 day panama canal cruise on the Island Princess January 9, 2019. First time for the canal and first time for ship size of Island Princess.

Does anyone have any advice of any kind for us first time Panama Canal/Island Princess cruisers?

What to expect. What the ports are like. Favorite tours at ports. Did you book tours through Princess or private tour companies? We are on Baja deck farthest back on the side, balcony.

Just looking for advice for anything really for this Panama Canal cruise.

    Thank you in advance!

  12. Can anyone give me info on Club 6? is it a disco? Is it a pretty busy place? I've heard both. we have 10 going on the Royal Nov. 25-30 for my sisters 70th birthday. We are looking to have a good time and look forward to dancing. Hoping this is the place we are looking for!

  13. Just wondering if anyone can give me recent info on Club 6. Someone said it is like a disco. I've heard both that it was not busy and boring and the opposite that it was crowded and a lot of fun.

We have a group of 10 going Nov. 25-30 and are looking forward to some fun!

  14. Hi! Going on the 5 day Eastern Caribbean on the Royal 11/25-30/17.

Looking for any info from anyone who has been on this as far as entertainment. Shows in Princess theater? How many nights did they have them, how many different ones? Also entertainment in different lounges at night. Piano bar? Lounge that has the games like The Voice and The Newlywed Game? Any thing different than what would be on the Emerald, Crown, or Sapphire?

Also, any info on the new additions on this ship. Sea Walk? Colorful waterfall show at night at top pool? How often they have this and how long it lasts?

Is the "adult pool" open above or does it have a dome?

Also, there are a lot of additional eating places for different things. There is a charge for gelato, right? How about the Chocolate bar? Alfredos pizza? International cafe? Still have the free soft serve cones by the pool?

Still have the Trident Grill by the pool with sandwiches?

Where can you have lunch besides the buffet on sea days or port days.

You get the idea. Any info would be appreciated to know what to expect ahead of time.

    Thank you in advance!

  15. On the 5 day Eastern Caribbean/Royal Princess from 11/25-11/30/17. Does anyone know what night will be formal night in the dining rooms?

Also, any info on the Royal would be great. Been on Emerald, Crown, and Sapphire.

  16. I understand Amber Cove is more of a Carnival Cruise Port. However, our Royal Princess cruise, departing 11/25/17 (5 day) can not stop at Grand Turk, because of damage from the hurricanes. They have changed that stop to Amber Cove. Is there anyone that recently was on Princess that stopped at Amber Cove?

I am wondering about 2 of Princess's excursions they offer. The Deluxe Catamaran Sail & Snorkel, and the Outback Terracross Adventure. They are 2 very different excursions. All I've read is that the water on Amber Cove is brown and not clear. The description for the Sail & Snorkel says it takes you to a Bay that is clear and has very colorful fish and coral. I've heard of other people that have done this type of thing on other ports and had a blast. You are served lunch and rum punch on the catamaran also. The Outback Terracross Adventure, is 2 people on 1 ATV, with a guide, you get muddy and all that fun stuff. Something different.

Does anyone have any info on either of these excursions through Princess?

I can't see spending all the time at the pool area at the port when you can stay on the ship and enjoy a pool. Although there are 2 waterslides at no additional cost and unlimited zipline for $20 for the day.

I know Princess just started this port because of itinerary changes from the hurricane damage. Hopefully someone will have some info regarding these excursions.

    Thanks in advance!

  17. With Amber Cove, Dominican Republic being a fairly new cruise port, are there any Princess excursions anyone would highly recommend, or not recommend? Would really appreciate any info regarding this.

    Thanks!

  18. Since it is a surprise, please make sure all your documents are in order. Passport, insurance, medications, etc. I love surprises and hope this works out for everyone.

Yes, my niece took her to get a passport earlier this year. She is using an extra email address for her mom and has filled everything out. I actually booked 2 rooms for 5 of us and paid for it all with my Princess VISA. They will pay me.

I just cant wait until the birthday party when it will be revealed!

    Thank You!

  19. Hello! It's been quite some time since I've been on these boards. My eldest sister is turning 70 in October. She has always wanted to go on a cruise. Well, she is getting her wish! We have 10 of us, including sister Donna, going on the 5 day Eastern Caribbean on the Royal 11/25-30. It is mostly women, but my brother is going too. We will reveal this surprise at her birthday party on October 22nd. Her daughter and I are becoming great party planners! Wanted to ask if there are any excursions anyone could highly recommend. Ports are Grand Turk and Amber Cove. Many of our passengers are huge Jimmy Buffet fans. We are praying it is reopened by then. Also, does it cost to use the adult pool area? I'm not familiar with what is included and what is not. I've been on the Emerald, Crown and Sapphire. Am looking forward to seeing the new additions to the Royal. Again, any information or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
