  1. Most household in the UK are singleton. I imagine the trend is in this direction for much of the wealthy World. Why would I choose to share a toilet, shower and bedroom with someone when on a 'luxury' holiday?

     

    If they had any sense, MSC would be designing-in solo cabins on the new builds to meet this demand.

     

    The problem is that a single requires pretty much the same amount of room as a couple.

     

    Hence the single supplement.

     

    In fact if you want to get narky, a single offers half the add-on and gambling revenue of a couple. Better than nothing in a cabin, but worse than a couple...

     

    (and half the opportunity to sell excursions to)

  2. Bugger that doesn't sound remotely pleasant, and definitely echoes some of what I have heard on here.

     

    If your cruise goes well it goes well, but if things go a little sour MSC customer service leaves much to be desired. (as everything has to go through head office)

     

    Hopefully my cruise with them goes smoothly, or I will surely be letting you guys all know my opinion, if I have to deal with the same as the OP.
