Funny but no surprise that you can get Orlando from Amazon! Still much less expensive when purchased in PV, we pay a bit less than 6.99 US dollars for the large 16 ounce bottle! We always bring back many of the small 125 ml (4 plus ounce) bottles for friends and coworkers so it saves us $ for sure and they eagerly await their yearly bottle :) The shop mentioned above does sell Orlando and is a great place to purchase whole beans, but as I said it is less expensive at the pharmacies.

Does anyone know if I can get Mexican vanilla at the Wal-Mart in Puerto Vallarta? Thanks!

I have spent a lot of time in PV on extended vacations and the only vanilla I purchase is Orlando, you will find it at the pharmacies, Walmart does not carry it. Don't get the clear, you really need to make sure you get the regular dark Orlando Vanilla.

It seems temperatures are very subjective, but we thought it was rather chilly. There was usually a significant difference between the tropical air outside and inside. We wore sweaters about half the time.

 

The ship feels especially cold on embarkation day and the last sea day if New Orleans is cool/cold.

 

On another note, I'll get this review going again soon, I promise. Still sick and been working a lot!

Thanks for the review Indytraveler83. I will be boarding the Dream on Sunday! I am starting to pack and am wondering if the public spaces on the ship were cold, sometimes I have found them to be like meat lockers on some ships! Trying to take only what I know I will wear.....just so hard for me not to overpack!

Have been on many cruises on all lines but only on Carnival one other time, Victory out of San Juan (which was one of our favorite cruises, best itinerary ever). Booked this one so we could spend some time in New Orleans, just love it there! Looking forward to the rest of your review!

This is so weird, I have a porthole room booked for a cruise 6 weeks out so final payment has been made. I decided I would like a balcony, there appear to be lots of balconies available, my TA has tried twice at my request to find out if I could change to a balcony and pay the difference of course. First time told there were no balconies, second time told there was one left, the highest priced level. I can go to both TA website and Carnival and both sites show lots of balconies. Why would this be? Any ideas? I guess I should just be happy that I am saving a lot of money!

After the email I sent my TA I got a call back and she had no idea why Carnival was not letting me upgrade to a balcony guarantee, she was able to get it but Carnival told her I would loose the OBC they offered me at time of booking so I passed on it. Fast forward to this past Friday, guarantee balcony priced really dropped so I called TA and got my balcony as well as all the OBC I was originally given! Already have my room assignment and am happy with it! A happy ending! Am really looking forward to my cruise that is in 27 days.

Since my calls have with TA have not been successful in answering this, I have now sent an email. You are right, think may just go directly through cruise lines in the future, the extra perks TA gives may not be worth it. The plus side is at least I am going on the cruise and will have more $$ to spend :)

My husband and I are booked with Donaldson for the Ti Tou Gorge, Screws Spa and Champagne snorkel on Jan 21, sounds like there is more room if anyone would like to join us. We are very excited to see this island with Donaldson after all the glowing reviews!
