So, I guess all the people complaining here returns to the hand washing station after eating but before serving more food again. Right? Right?...

This!!! Many ppl are going up for 2nds and 3rds after eating with their hands....not to mention all the utensils with the handles that are literally laying in the food.... I seriously have to not think about it too much! Lol

And I do love a good buffet!

  2. Our Sept cruise on Oasis will be our first with the "new menus" and "new once a day state room service". I'm thinking we will be fine w the once a day service, because it never fails we come back to our room when they are there, or ours is next in line. Its awkward and inconvenient. Picking a time in the evening would work out great for us. Extra towels would be a must. And I have always wished an empty cart would be available somewhere along the hallway to dispose of dirty dishes.

In my opinion the entire dining experience has declined since our very first cruise in 2008. Selections and quality in the dining room and Windjammer are not as good. We still have had very nice meals and excellent service, and plenty of food available, but not fine dining. And I do miss seeing everyone dressed up 🙂The extra charge dining options have more than doubled in price and we only choose them for a special occasion. Food is the big one for me... I'm no foodie...but I need good food! 🙂

All of that being said...the overall cost of a cruise has not changed that much in 15 years. (not counting the deal of the century covid cruises lol). We have enjoyed all of our cruises, and so far we still find them to be of good value.

  3. We went on our first cruise 15 years ago, and have cruised almost every year since, exclusively on RC. There have been many changes since we started cruising, but it is still our preferred vacation. We are paying almost $1000 more this year than we did last year...for the exact same sailing! - Oasis out of NJ in Sept. For us, I am less apt to give them even more $$ for specialty restaurants.  I can honestly say we have never had a bad cruise and have never went to bed hungry. Lol

  4. We sail our first cruise as Diamond on Oasis next month. We have always purchased the DBP, but will not this time. Our plan is to bring two bottles of wine, bring bottled water to have in our cabin, drink coffee from Diamond lounge, use our four drink coupons each, and purchase drinks above and beyond that. Expecting to purchase 2-3 additional drinks each per day (using coupons for $13 drinks, and buying a beer or two). We should/could save around $350.

  5. I too am a breast cancer survivor (10 years) and had a very similar treatment as hayleyp. I was diagnosed just weeks b4 we were to set sail and my Dr did not want me to put off the beginning of what would be almost a year long of surgeries/treatments. Well, we chose to go on the cruise! 🙂 I went on that zip line that I was sure I could never do...lol 🙂

Best of luck to you in your journey. You will come through this stronger and that blue water will be sparkling just for you. Enjoy that cruise!

Agreed! We fly out to Puerto Rico on Thursday for our cruise Saturday. The additional screening makes me feel a little better. I'm not concerned so much about getting sick since my wife and I are early 30s with no health issues but being quarantined is the part I don't want.

We planned on only using the stairs this cruise instead of the elevators and this outbreak makes us stick to it even more 🙂

Yep. Same here. I have Lysol wipes, Lysol spray, and hand sanitizer packed. I've been practicing not touching my face and I've been wearing my gloves in public (it's cold here still) lol I'm ready!

I agree that there may be a number of passengers that call in with "fevers" that just do not want to sail.  However, Royal Caribbean keeps saying they are operating in an abundance of caution.  While there may be those that abuse this, at least we do not end up with sick people showing up at the pier to prove they have a fever because they do not want to lose their money.

I am good with this new procedure.

Absolutely agree! We sail Sunday on Anthem. I am relieved (somewhat) w the addtl screening and FCC offer. This has been a stressful cpl of weeks leading up to our cruise. Sunday can't get here soon enough :)!

I too am waiting for visa OBC to show up on my planner. I was told by RC it will show up approx two weeks b4 sail date. Kind of a bummer because you do miss out on sales in the cruise planner. We redeemed the points months ago. We are thinking we will use it for gratuities.

Just a follow up ....our OBC  did show up on our cruise planner (3 weeks prior to our sail date). Sales are still happening so I purchased our Voom internet 🙂

  9. Strangest thing I ever saw, was on Oasis a few years back. An elderly lady (guessing 70-80) was in a deck chair across from us on the pool deck. She was wearing a bathing suit (bikini). She spent the entire time laying down, with her legs straight up in the air, with her hands on her hips to hold them up high, and doing various exercise type movements (think bicycle, spread eagle, scissors) We ended up moving...lol

  10. We have done this " excursion" a few times. The tickets have a time on them for pick up. The bus was waiting when we got off the ship. They drop you in a parking lot near Ron Jon's Surf Shop. It is a short walk to the beach. We always walk up the beach to the pier for lunch and a cpl beers on the pier. There has been a lil wait for the shuttle return, but they run pretty continuous. We have always had an enjoyable day.

  11. Just another fake sale.

Exactly...I spent a good half hour over the wknd on the phone w customer service requesting an explanation of "the 3 day sale". It ended w her agreeing w me that it was basically false advertising. She said the email I rec'd "did not apply to my booking"? I knew it was too good to be true, as the deluxe bev pkg was already on sale for $43 per day.
