  1. Seabourn does not enforce a formal dress policy. A sports coat or even just a shirt or sweater and tie would be appropriate.

Ladies can wear just about any kind of dress or nice slacks and top. On our last cruise on the Odyssey on a small handful or couples got really dressed up. I like to dress up too but we never check bags and have learned to do carry ons only so there is no room for any kind of formal wear. Ladies do not even need heels, nice sandals are even appropriate. So if you choose to you can get formally dressed up or you can also wear anything that you wear to dinner any other night. You do not need to stay in your cabin or eat in the other venues.

My hubby will wear a sports coat and tie.

  2. If you don't mind doing your own laundry, there are laundry facilities on the ship(odyssey). You can use them for free. Also irons and ironing boards available in the laundry room too.

You do have to keep checking for open machines. There are 4 of them, 2 laundry rooms on each side on Deck5.

  3. We had our cruise dates and itinerary on the Odyssey for 2017 changed also. Originally supposed to leave Oct. 24 from Rome. Now we are leaving Sept. 23 from Athens.

They replaced Bandol, Monte Carlo, Taormina and Amalfi with Hydra, Livorno, Frejus and Portofino. We actually like the earlier departure better, so we think it worked out well. Just hope they don't make anymore changes as we usually book airfares well in advance so we can us airline miles. Pricing was the same but we did get a bit of OBC. Will probably get insurance for this trip. We usually don't.

Does anyone actually know why they changed their Med cruises?

  4. Yes, we had some wierd loud knocking noise when we cruised Seabourn Odyssey last year. I think we were in Cabin 428. It was annoying but also very intermittent. No one could tell us what is was from. Our neighbor complained but really got no answer.

In spite of that we loved our cruise and would still book a Deck 4 cabin. For our cruise next year we are trying a A1 guarantee. Maybe we will get a balcony but if not we are fine with Deck 4. It does seem ridiculous to pay so much for a cruise and have to take earplugs but you can't do much about ship design. I would prefer the knocking to noisy neighbors.
