  1. A 3 hour tour - highly recommended.

Eduardo is the owner and he was able to deal with the fact that our cruise shipped changed schedule the day before.  We had booked his taxi and drive for Saturday, we found out on Thursday that due to weather we were going to Cozumel on Friday.  I was able to email Eduardo and he handled the switch of days with only 16 hours advance notice.

Victor was a great driver.  We visited the Mayan ruins, drove to the back side of the island for a photo op and beers at Coconuts Bar.  We went to the Chocolate factory, Then he dropped us off at a local place that had amazing ceviche and grilled fish for lunch.  We caught a cab back to the boat.

Highly recommended.  When you book a driver you can specify exactly what you want to do.  We said we wanted to see the ruins, we wanted to take photos at cool locations, we wanted to visit the Chocolate factory, and we wanted to finish with lunch at a local seafood spot - someplace that he would take his wife for lunch.

We did everything we wanted, nothing that we didn't want, and we didn't have to wait for a bunch of slow walking cruise people to fill up the bus.  In fact we were already done with a 45 minute tour of the mayan ruins when the cruise ship tour group buses were just arriving.  We had the ruins mostly to ourselves.

$80 deposit paid up front via paypal credit card
$40 cash to the driver (remember to get cash before you get on the boat, the ATM on the boat charges at $6.50 fee !!!)

$120 minimum fee gives you 3 hours of driver time.
which is slightly less than the cost for 2 people to go on a similar cruise excursion, but I have total flexibility to see only what I find interesting and to leave at any time we want to do something different.

$25 for each extra hour - we didn't need any extra time, but it is good to know up front what it will cost.

We booked directly on his website.  Here is the link.  Highly recommended.
