It sounds very doable to me.  I'm doing a s2s myself in October disembarking in Tampa and embarking in Miami.  We've reserved a rental car and figure it will take us around 3 hours.  Plenty of time to casually drive there if we depart the ship by 8:30 or 9am.  Laundry is another issue 😂

It is at least a 4.5 hour drive from Tampa port to Port Miami. Plus time to pick up a rental car. Depending on what route you take it's between 275 and 285 miles. If traffic is really bad it could take longer.

  2. This is the 2nd email I got. It says nothing about exceptions for the transatlantic

    ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS

    Dear Guest,

On our Transatlantic sailings, all guests, regardless of age, must be fully vaccinated by an approved manufacturer in order to board the ship. To be considered fully vaccinated, a guest must have received their last dose in their vaccine series no less than 14 full days before their sail date. Regrettably, children with only one dose of a two-dose vaccine are not considered fully vaccinated for our sailing.

All guests are required to bring proof of vaccination issued by either the issuing country’s health authority or electronic vaccination records where the country uses electronic documentation (e.g. UK NHS App, NHS Certificate, Israel Green Pass, EU Digital COVID Certificate), as a condition to boarding. Please be sure your vaccination documentation reflects your first and second dose (or single dose for Johnson and Johnson), in addition to your booster information if you are up to date. To learn more about our health protocols, please visit RoyalCaribbean.com/Health.

As a reminder, we continue to evaluate circumstances around the globe, our health protocols are subject to change.

If everyone in your travelling party will be fully vaccinated by the time we sail, there’s nothing for you to do! If someone in your reservation isn’t fully vaccinated, please contact us or your travel partner immediately. For those guests who will not be vaccinated in time, we will provide you with a full refund including any air and hotel arrangements booked through Royal Caribbean. You’ll also be reimbursed for non-refundable, pre-purchased transportation change fees incurred (such as a flight, train ticket, parking fees, or rental car).

We’ll cover up to $400 USD per guest for changes.

Please email your receipts and booking information, once your reservation is cancelled, to RoyalGuestRelations@rccl.com for review and reimbursement.

Please use the following contact information to advise us you will be ineligible to sail with us:

    • 1 888 281 9344 in the U.S.
    • 1 800 754 500 in Australia
    • In the UK only, contact us through our webchat service or by calling 0344 493 4005.
    • All other countries, please visit http://www.royalcaribbean.com/contactus for your local Royal Caribbean International office phone number.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We hope to have you onboard one of our sailings in the future.

    Sincerely,

    Royal Caribbean International

  3. About an hour ago I got another email reminder from Royal stating that all guests Regardless of age must be fully vaccinated in order to board the ship. The phone reps probably don't know that there is a difference for transatlantic cruises. They are just used to answering questions regarding cruises leaving from Florida to the Caribbean.

  4. Since you are staying in the same room everything can be left except for your passport or birth certificate and ID. Your cabin steward will know you are b2b and try to make up your room first. If covid testing is still needed by then you will be tested on the next to the last day of the first cruise. On the final morning all b2b guests will meet in a lounge where you will be given your new cards. You will be escorted off the ship using the old card to log off the ship. Then you will be escorted through customs. You will then be taken back to the ship where you will use the new card to board. A letter will be left in your room giving all instructions.  There will be a lunch in the dining room for all b2b guests. It was really good so make sure you go.

Hi, Jess. Looks like your having an amazing time!! Being that you will be on the ship for a while, would it be possible for you to get a picture of an interior view balcony cabin?  My husband and I have always stayed in a balcony cabin, but since we are using a casino comped cruise we thought we would do something a little different this go round. We are in 9177 in March and would love to know the bed placement and if it’s on the side wall or the back wall. No one to date has had any pics of the  Odyssey Interior Virtual Balcony cabins.

I am checking into a virtual balcony cabin today. Will have pics and a short video. Will post tomorrow on the 8/28 FB group.

  6. Jessy,

Can you please let me know how check in was. On the 8/8 sailing it was a nightmare. No one paid attention to check in times. It was one big mob scene with no social distancing. The line was all the way down the terminal. It took me 1.5 hours from the time I got in line till the time I boarded. I spoke to someone at Royal about this and they told me to take pics and let them know how the 8/28 boarding is but if 8/22 is just as bad I'd like to include that info also..I know that there are a lot less passengers on 8/22 than 8/8. Again thanks, just want to make sure everyone is safe.
