  1. So, after taking a gay cruise (The Cruise by La Demence) in July of 2022, my husband and I are taking our first non-community specific cruise since 2016 in December of 2024 on the Celebrity Eclipse.  Our first cruise on Celebrity.  Our prior cruises were with Norwegian.  They always had "Friend of Dorthy" type events to meet others.  Is something like that done on Celebrity?  I know I've heard in the past that Celebrity was considered a LGBTQ+ friendly cruise line.  Is that still the case?  Any other thoughts/experiences with Celebrity to share?  Thanks.

  2. We are taking our first cruise with Celebrity on the Eclipse in December.  I see they let you book your reservations for dinner time at the website now.  Is that something you should try to do?  Will everything end up being booked before we ever get on the ship?  Also, we tend to prefer later seatings for dinner.  But how do the evening shows work on Celebrity?  For the main shows, do they usually have two show times a night?  Let's say you eat around 8 pm--will that be a problem if you also want to go to that evening's show?

  3. So we are going on our first Celebrity cruise in December on the Eclipse.  I was curious about this restaurant and am happy I found this thread.  We don't have any OBC.  I see there is a flash sale right now of 20% off for LPC at Celebrity web site.  Anyone who is more familiar with Celebrity have any thoughts on whether this is a good deal?  Do they run these flash sales often?  Do I need to worry about specialty restaurants getting booked up before we ever even get on the ship?

  4. Has anyone from one of the August cruises who made it to the afternoon tea at the Bermuda Perfumery come back yet? If so, how was it?

Also, does anyone know anything about the dress code for this tea and the one at the Fairmont Princess Hotel?

Anyone know of any other good afternoon teas to consider in Bermuda?

We will be on the 9/2/12 NCL Star cruise. We are really looking forward to it. We definitely would like to try an afternoon tea somewhere while in Bermuda. Thanks.

    Be well,

    Jim & Al

  5. what does a spa pass include?

can this be purchases ahead of time?

I was on the 11/27/10 sailing of the Gem out of NYC. You can't get the Spa pass before sailing but, at least for my cruise, they had set up a table at the pier where you could sign up for the Spa while waiting to board. It was $99 per person. Note that for my cruise there was no couple's discount. Because of what I saw here on Cruise Critic I specifically asked and they said they are not offering that discount now.

Spa is children free zone. It includes a therapy pool (not for swimming), hot tub, lounge chairs, steam rooms, great view out the front of the ship. They have these heated stone lounge chairs that are wonderful. But you have to have patience to get one. I'd definitely recommend the Spa if you have a cold weather departure from NYC. I really enjoyed it on the sea days.
