  1. The Family board is also a weath of information.

Royal has made a few changes since mine was pre-3, so I'll skip current reports as I know there have been some newer changes. There may be a few organized activities, but don't neglect the options just around the ship. Go enjoy the live music, chasing the lights in the disco before the night-life crowd gets there. You'll still be a busy parent on vacation, but at least someone else is cooking dinner and making the beds.

  2. It was Royal, but an inside is an inside. Very dark. We co-sleep, so we didn't use a PNP, but I can see how that set up might work well. The king bed was big enough for 3 of us. We could never afford a balcony (married a teacher, so we have to cruise at prime time), but for child sleep time nothing beat an inside. Shoot, for parent sleep time nothing beats an inside. Have a good trip.

  3. It's some sort of fruit flavored water......berries, or peach...something like that. No calories....it's just water with a bit of flavor added.

You can bring water, but the ship's water is fine...after all, the ice, drinks, and food is made with ship's water!

Sorry, I'm looking for more clarification. We don't do artificial sweeteners, so zero calorie crystal light style flavoring is a no for us. But flavored by soaking in actual raspberries is good. Do you know if the flavoring is actual fruit or artificial flavoring?

  4. Biaria-

We'll be in town on Nov. 10 (just like Amy and her mother). We're adventure types and are putting together a DIY trip using suggestions from http://www.love-madeira.com/index.html . I love all the walks and we're thinking about one available from Monte so we can combine it with the cable car and toboggan. With all your unfortunate mudslides and fires should we be rethinking our plan? Is this area recovered (or unharmed)? Is there a particular one you suggest? How long do you think the Monte to Terreiro da Luta Walk takes?

Also, we'll be traveling with DD 5 y/o. We plan mostly to use the bus and walk, but if we time things wrong and we need to take a taxi from the bottom of the toboggan are there any car seat rules? I would hate to carry the car seat around all day just for that.

    Thanks in advance

  5. I haven't cruised (since DD) without my Maya Wrap sling. It's versatile b/c baby/toddler can be on your front, hip, back, etc. and the weight gets distributed over your whole back. Of course, I've loved having it at home, too. It's handy when she wants to be held and/or we're in a crowd.

  6. The courtesy busses will be waiting at the end of the pier where the ship docks. Just follow the signs once you get off the ship.

I just got back from my cruise that went to Progresso. From where the ship docks, all you can see if the little collection of shops that you must walk through to get to the free buses. Whether you see the signs or not, make sure you walk through the shops or you'll never find the buses. The free bus system is run by a company that's hoping you'll use your 5 minute ride to look at the flyer they hand you gettin gon advertising their tour offerings (like $25pp to Merida). Then, they drop you off at a flee market near the beach right at their tour offerings stand. Hey, whatever it takes to have a courtesy bus system is worth it. I wouldn't want to have to walk that far!
