I emailed NOLA about this earlier this year for my retired military friends and the Port replied that they do not offer any discounts for military. Parking is $20 per day at the Port.

I use indoor parking at Galveston Park n Cruise. At the terminal, Security will direct you to the correct car line for your ship. You will have to wait for a porter to take your bags at the drop off line at Galveston. Then, you are free to go park at Galveston Park n Cruise. I forgot something in the car last year and they did let me back in the garage to get my item.

Having sailed on the Magic twice and the Triumph once, I would choose the Magic every time. The Magic is a much nicer ship, Serenity deck was never crowded on the Magic and the food on the Magic is hands down better than the Triumph. Cove balconies on the Magic are great as are the Spa balconies.

People tell me that every time I post it, but we've been doing it for almost 15 years, including after the "carry on" thing came to be. Never a word from anyone and we've been on five cruises since they came up with it. We pack it well, put a luggage tag on it and it always arrives at our door with the rest of our things.

 

One other thing: We never lock the duffel. They want to make sure you're not sneaking on liquor. We make sure that we leave it unlocked so they can shake anything they want. We leave the sodas in their original cardboard that has obviously not been tampered with. We've always thought that's why they don't care that we do it. It really is just soda and water.

We pack a 12 pack of soda and a 12 pack of water in a duffel bag also. I was going to take it through carry on myself the first time and the porter said he would take it. We also leave the duffel unlocked and put a luggage tag on it.

I received this offer and it stated it was only good for the person listed on the offer. I did book and then signed up for the one time Platinum status upgrade. My DH is also on the booking. However, it is not allowing him the Platinum status-says he is not qualified.

I just went online and reserved parking at the Houston cruise port. They finally have their website up and running! :)
