  1. Be careful what type of container you put them in. I recently took a weeks worth or so of gummy vitamins in the not original sams container on vacation. Idk if it was excess air or the container or whatever but the vitamins developed a nasty flavor. I had to toss them 🤢

  2. Dang this is an active forum. I could barely find this post to reply again! Lol

So I guess the prices were for holiday season. That didn't occur to me since it wasn't actually the holiday.

I ended up choosing a jan 2026 cruise. The bogo airfare was $800. A quick search of Jan 2025 looks like I can meet that price so I will get my own airfare where I control the flights. Thanks for the help.

  3. Just the web site so far. I didn't know how helpful they would be since they are trying to sell their product. I may try to talk to someone tomorrow. I also had a travel agent in mind to check with. It's a bit of a time crunch since the airfare and 70% off 2nd guest is only for 2 more days.

  4. We are looking at a panama canal full transit, and the 2nd airfare free promo is adding $2800. This seems outrageous, but it's for late 2025 so I can't compare. But a quick search as far out as I can shows much lower costs.

Am I missing something, or is the "free" airfare just a complete ripoff?.

(ETA: not free, but the second guest free is what I meant)

You have to declare what state you are in prior to the test. That is how they determine the day that the sample was collected.  On the printout of the results, UTC time will be converted to the local time where you took the test. So if you take it before midnight, it will show as Wednesday and won’t be acceptable.

Hmm, I'm in Florida but in the panhandle where it is central time. I wonder if they would assume since Florida it is eastern. Most people do 😂

Please explain how you came across this information.

Cruise line insurance is sold as a convenience to the customer. The cruise line makes a commission. The policy is still managed by AON in Carnivals situation.

You're saying that if on an excursion, I slip and fall and need to go to the hospital that since I bought the cruise lines insurance, I don't have to make a claim? Thats preposterous.

I would add to this look at what you are getting in your policy. I prefer to have better medical coverage in a policy. Even if you are young and healthy, anyone can have an accident and end up hospitalized.

I prefer www.squaremouth.com to shop for policies. Their comparison charts just make more sense to my brain.

I'd bought the emed test kits some time ago as a backup and since they were nearing expiration used them for our last cruise.

I just checked their website and it looks like they're now only selling 6-packs for $150, with no mention of when they expire.

What site? Because optum only has 2 or 3 packs when I looked. Also, the ones I received just before Christmas expire 11/6/22

  8. I'm cruising with you! We are coming from NW FL, but family cruising with us are flying in from Dallas on Friday (live south of Dallas). I don't know what line they are on though.

We also were in cove balconies moved to deck 6. Hoping it's not a cruise to nowhere but we have cheers included on a promo so we will make the best of it no matter what happens.

Same here. I saw the slip just swept up and never looked at. Didnt make me feel like they cared if I tipped or not. .. or  noticed.

I feel like they probably noticed, and are just trying to be professional by not checking the tip in front of the customer. I never did when I was a server.

Well were screwed then.  I'm a Nurse Practitioner who works our walk-in clinic and currently seeing about 40 pts per day with COVID.  So, technically I am exposed every day, even though I wear full PPE/N95/Gown, etc.

I guess I should start looking for an alternative vacation (supposed to be leaving in 30 days)

Others may disagree, but I consider that as not exposed since you are using full PPE. That is the point of it after all.

Is your concern whether the Liberty can make the southern itinerary?  I looked at the 8 day Horizon itineraries, and the longest run is Miami to Aruba, which requires 17 knots to make the itinerary, and the Liberty is easily able to make that, as that is 77% of top speed.  Now, having said that, any ship can have a failure that affects speed, whether it is older like Liberty, or newer like Horizon.

Yes that was my concern. Not because of the older ship but because of the previous propulsion problems that they initially didn't fix (had to switch her with the Glory for shorter itineraries) that I was unsure if they ever fixed. Thanks for setting my mind at ease. 😊

All this back and forth about replacement ships....ive been on newer and older ships and honestly my least favorite cruise when we went on the 1st USA cruise on the Vista. And my favorite was probably the Liberty which is replacing the Horizon. I trust Carnival to provide me with a good time no matter what ship I'm on.

I have been on the Liberty twice. She is a great ship but she doesn't have the amenities that we were looking forward to though. We will still have a good time but I am a little disappointed. This would also have been our first cruise on any ship newer than the Liberty and we were looking forward to that.

I remember the Liberty had a much more serious propulsion issue years ago now, where her max speed was reduced significantly and Carnival had to swap her out for short-distance cruises (Florida E. coast to Bahamas) for a while.

At the time, you explained -- very well, as always! -- that the problem was in the windings or bushings (?) and it would require a drydock and cutting through the hull to resolve. 😮

I'm assuming that Liberty eventually got fixed, although I don't actually know when.  (Anyone know?)

This is my concern as well, and one I haven't been able to get a straight answer about from Carnival. I am a little disappointed to lose the extra amenities of the Horizon for the Liberty but I can live with that. On a ship is on a ship. However, we are suppose to be going to the Southern Caribbean and we paid a premium for that over a standard 7 day cruise. I want to know if we are going to be able to reach our destination.

  13. Lots of people view this as "if I drink 6-8 drinks a day it pays for itself." while I see their perspective, I just can't get on board with it. My view is in what world would I spend almost $1000 on alcohol, etc in one week??? I just can't

On our upcoming January cruise we were able to book with the free cheers for only $300 more than the cruise had already been booked for (difference in price from the time we booked). I am a little concerned about getting spoiled having the package this time though LOL.

So if it were me I would order the bottles to the room.
