  1. I sat down in a Red Frog pub next to a very inebriated lady who decided I was going to be her best friend. She was telling me her tale of woe, crying about an argument with her partner, when her nose started to run copious amounts of mucus. I reached for some napkins for her, but she waved them off and used the bottom of her shirt instead. So not only did she then have boogersnot all over her, but she flashed us all. I signalled the bartender (crossing my eyes and mouthing HELP)who called security and they very discreetly and kindly helped her find her room. I went and showered as she was patting me and trying to cry on my shoulder. Maybe that was more pitiful than disgusting.

  2. things I learned after many cruises : take clothes pins. really needed to secure wet swim suits on clothes line in the shower ( you are not supposed to put clothes outside on balcony like on the chairs to dry- but if you do- secure them very well with the pins- of course I never did that - (liar, liar ) 2) go to a dollar store and buy a night light for the bathroom- that way the full blast of light doesn't blind you or light up the cabin disturbing sleeping of others. I got a tap-on one and hot glued a stronger magnet on the back and put it up on the metal door frame inside the bathroom. 3)Get a collapsible clothes hamper there too. keeps dirties separate and organized. Your children are probably too young to be out and about on their own, but with my grandchildren the carnival hub app helped me find them and get them back to the room. make some cards up with your e-mail as you are bound to meet people you'd like to keep in touch with. write down names of room steward and waiters and bartenders who were good. Its nice to use a name in your ship satisfaction survey. and as everyone says: don't do everything. Take a nap in your room or serenity deck . Naps are a pretty rare luxury when you have a 7yr and 9yr old.

PS: they are a great age for the children's program. I had trouble making grandkids leave for dinner when they were that age. Enjoy.

  3. Hi.. We just returned from the Carnival Magic's March 4-11 cruise. We visited the same ports but in a reverse order. Monday Cozumel,Tuesday Belize,Wednesday Roatan, and Thursday Costa Maya. We departed Costa Maya at 2 PM and the Chefs Table was held that night at 6:15. Even though this was the last Elegant night none of the men wore ties.

A wonderful new menu was served with pork belly, lamb, sea bass, veal and quail.

  4. HI, I liked it too so tried to imitate it at home. I'm usually pretty good at replicating recipes. I know it contains the usual salt, pepper, garlic and onion powders. It does contain a smidge of cumin. I think a touch of sweet paprika. Exact quantities I don't know, except be careful with the cumin. A little is terrific, a bit too much is overwhelming. Experiment from there. Good luck.
