We were actually booked on 2 separate cruises b2b, circle host told us if we weren’t changing cabins, then no elite perks until next booked cruise...I would certainly talk to them, we just got a nasty one who clearly was having a bad day🥺others have had good luck getting their perks mid-cruise!

That is a shame, we did a B2B in May 2019 and my husband was given the platinum perks without having to go to circle host at all for the second half of our trip.  It did have a separate booking number so not sure if that factored in or not.

Really?  Oh my gosh.  That is amazing.  I will do that.  I don't know if I have time before my 14 day South Caribbean  cruise April 4th but hopefully for Princess 28 day run LA to Tahiti in October and definetly our 50 day Princess South America in Jan 2022.  Thank you so vey much.

If you have a CF1 card or your certificate of service, they will accept that as proof.  We used the certificate of service for my husband years ago and once it was on his account it automatically shows up each cruise we book.

Another note for veterans and active military, Air Canada, Westjet and Air Transit all have different advantages that you can apply for with each with a valid CF1 card or proof of service.  From free baggage for yourself and travel partner to discounted bags/upgraded seats.  When we did our B2B in Alaska and packed way too much this saved us close to $300 in baggage fees.

The sanctuary is a calm adults-only space with cushy loungers, on the Sky Deck forward, above the bridge. As discussed above, there are also a number of cabanas in the Sanctuary, and there is a dedicated staff to take care of your every need. There is a charge of $40/half day or $80/full day for a lounger and $220/day for a cabana (which includes some beverages, and can accommodate up to 4 people).

Question was already asked and answered, just deleting my question for now.

Chef's Table is great, but the OP should know that Chef's Table comes with a wine pairing for each course.  If you do not drink or do not  drink wine specifically, it is kind of silly to pay all that extra money.  Just FYI  ! 🙂

I know a couple of years ago you could pay a lower fee to not have the wine.  I'm not sure of how much less it was but it was an option.  It was something you had to adjust once you were on board if I recall.

Thanks everyone for the replies so far. I would have thought that 150 Park would have had more votes since it seems to be the most 'fancy' menu. We get one dinner from our TA so that's what I'm trying to book. We also get one lunch but I haven't been assigned a room yet so I don't know if the lunch will be Johnny Rockets (boardwalk balcony) or Giovanni's (Central park).

Is 150 central park just not that good? (I know food is subjective)

    Keep the suggestions coming please.

I have done 150 central park twice and while the food was really good, I find the atmosphere off putting for me.  I like a restaurant where everyone is talking and laughing and 150 was just so quiet it's like eating in a library.  It could have just been the two times I went both were the last night of the cruise and everyone is tired or packing.

The menu is always changing but the scallops and black cod were amazing when I had them.

  6. I love Sabor, I know it's not high on peoples list and I'm not sure what your husband could have since I eat meat and those were the choices I focused on.  But I love the guacamole they make table-side,  the  barbacoa short rib tacos are amazing and jalapeno garlic tiger shrimp was also a favorite.

I just pulled up a menu and it appears they do have lots of fish and seafood offerings so that might work.

Don't forget dessert, the banana and chocolate chimichanga is sinful it's so good.

I'm so sad that it's being replaced before I will get a chance to experience it again.  It will change to a playmakers when Allure goes for dry dock next year.

We are on the Adventure this Saturday 4/27 and were able to book pre-cruise for $42/day. Definitely keep checking cruise planner! The prices will go up and down in the weeks/months leading up to the cruise depending on the amount of people who booked pre-cruise. We booked about 4 weeks out because we couldn't turn down the price! If prices go down further, you are also allowed to cancel and then re-book at the discounted price, just FYI.

Thank-you for the insight and good to know that you can re-book if you see a lower price.

My cruise is not until Mar 2020 so the packages have not even opened up yet.  $42/day is a no brainer for me.

I would recommend Sabor on Allure.  The food was really good and the service was fantastic.

However, depending on when you go and which ship you are on, it could be gone.  Sabor will be removed from Allure in the 2020 drydock in place of Playmakers.

Oh no, I love Sabor and was hoping to take my husband one day to enjoy this ship and Sabor.  😢

  9. Thank-you everyone for confirming.

I really enjoyed having lunch there the few times I did on the Oasis and Allure.  I was really hoping we would be doing a cruise on one of those ships but the 8 day ABC Itinerary on the Adventure for Mar 2020 ended up being the winner.  I guess this just means I will have to book another cruise while on board. :classic_biggrin:

  10. Hello all,

I tried to research this but most questions about lunch and the mdr are normally asking about embarkation day and my question is slightly different.

I've done 2 cruises with Royal and both were on the Oasis class.  On these ships during sea days you could go to the mdr for lunch and besides having a la cart menu items there was two buffets setup, one with hot foods and the other with salad fixings that you could choose and then choose a dressing and a staff member with then mix it all up in a bowl for you.

My question is, is this same lunch available on other ships like Adventure of the Seas?

    Thanks,

    Kim

Just to follow up - everything was fine on the ship.  Once onboard, you could search by name and invite everyone in your party (no matter their cabin) to chat.

As far as the app goes - it is a great first step, but could use a few more features; most notably - an auditory or vibration alert that you have a message.  If you aren't looking at your phone all the time (and who is during a cruise), you don't know that people are trying to communicate with you.  The app developers were onboard Allure the week we sailed and we had a nice conversation with a couple of them while eating lunch at Park Cafe (they asked for, and we passed on, our thoughts on the app and they shared with us a new feature they are working on).

Thanks for the followup, based on what you are saying it is a chat that you can setup with a number of people.  Kind of like WhatsApp I'm guessing.

We have our own snorkeling gear and get off the ship walk to tent and buy round trip boat tickets for snorkeling at Klein Bonaire. The small island across water. Excellent snorkeling with the current. It’s a beautiful snorkeling reef. Sea turtles and deep drop off. $20 each a few years ago. Boat shuttle are constantly going back and forth on the 1/2 hour. One of our favorite places.

Polar beer in restaurants in town. Very walkable.

    Enjoyed Bonaire several times.

    Can’t wait to return.

That sounds like a great idea as well.

I will keep it in mind but I like that Woodwind provides drinks, lunch and they have a photographer that takes tons of pics and the cost of the usb key with all the pictures is reasonable.

@Akaicb Woodwind also has a 4 hour afternoon excursion for cruisers starting at 1:30. That is what I signed up for, but our ship is in Bonaire until 10 pm so we have plenty of time (Equinox, Nov 2020). (And yes, this is early, but no, we were not the 1st ones!)

I was hoping for the 4 hour excursion but for the date we are there, Woodwind have decided to do two 3 hour tours since we are the only ship in port from 9am to 5pm.  They are doing a 9:30 to 12:30 and then a 12:45 -15:45 that day to accommodate the time Adventure is in port.

To make life simple I should choose the 12:45 tour, but I am so fair and burn very easily.  The last time I did this tour in the morning I ended up with blisters because applying sunscreen every hour was not enough.

Thank-fully I have bought a surf rash guard shirt with spf 50 but I still think a morning trip will be better heat wise than the afternoon.

Been to Bonaire twice. Once on Navigator. If you are doing the Snorkel cruise I think you are doing (Woodwind?) then you will be fine. Its a 5 minute walk from the dock to their offices. You turn right from the cruise dock and go through a hotel complex (or rather a collection of small buildings etc) and you are right there.  First time we were there we were the only ship and the second there was one other. Still didnt feel crowded

Very easy port/island to get around as its so small and very un-touristified...(I made that word up)

Yes, you have it correct.  Thanks for the insight.

We did this same tour 3 years ago but that time our ship docked at 7am and the tour did not start till 8:30am so I was not sure of timeing.
