  1. Just dug out a couple of photos...see the faucet? I'm not sure how I would go about washing up in this sink. Foresight is 20/20, I should have taken a photo of the water in the tub before I drained it, (brown, brown, brown) but you can see the drain on the floor. And mold on the ceiling. The fact that they thought that this room was ok. I know some things are to be expected but the fact that we had stayed here in 2011. I'm assuming that it was probably not to far down on the list of their recent renovation. It just really left a bad taste in my mouth, that they felt the need to charge me more $$$ to change room.

  2. Stayed at the IC on our last PG cruise (July 2015) I was so disappointed. We'd stayed there in 2011 and had no issues. Loved it. This past cruise, the room was terrible. Dark, musty and in need of a complete make-over. The faucet on the bathroom sink was so high and stuck so far out that you literally splashed water all over yourself when tying to simply was your hands. Looked like a replacement from a laundry utility sink. Went to fill up the tub and after a few minutes went back in to check and the water was all brown. Pulled the plug and the water began to rise up from a drain in the floor. It was bad. Furniture was pretty worn as well. When I went to the front desk to complain and insist on another room, the only way they would do it is if I paid for an upgrade. It was an additional $120 or close to that. We paid almost a grand for two nights. I thought it was crummy that they felt the need to charge me more. Won't stay there again.

  3. Hi

Really not much action on the roll call for this cruise, but I wanted to put it out there that we have 4 people on the reservations for Ato's Blue Lagoon cruise on Fakarava, if possible we would like to get 4 more people (possibly 6) to join us. The reservations are under Denis & Kristina and Vincent & Carol. Please let me know if you'd like to join us and I will email him to add you.

Also, I have reserved 2 (Vincent & Carol) for Marc's Combo Tour/Picnic on Huahine. Please let me know if you would like to join us for this one. I will let him know. He is looking for at least 6 -8 more people.

You can look both of these up on Trip Adviser and both have fabulous reviews. If anyone has anything to add or suggest regarding these excursions, please chime in. We leave for PF 3 weeks from tomorrow :)

  4. Hi

Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct place but here goes...

Cruise on the Jewel booked for next January. I'm trying to find flights. Coming back there are flights that leave at 9:45 a.m. Wondering how far is it to the airport from the pier and is it easy to get a taxi? Can I request that on the ship during the cruise? It's been over 10 years since I've cruised out of San Juan and I can't remember how far it is. We did a day tour last time as our flight was early evening. I don't think we'll do that this time.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  5. So I got my answer today...$100 charge each if we want to change the flight or $230 each to change the flight and get early check in (which isn't to good a deal, why pay an extra $130 per person to check in at 6 a.m. when I've already paid to check in the same day at 2:00 p.m.) So I guess we'll stick with what we have, although I do feel disappointed that we'll lose the entire first day that we have the room.

    Thanks to those that replied

  6. Hi everyone

Just found out we are on the 4:30 p.m. flight out of LAX to Papeete, arriving a bit after 9:00 p.m. We are doing the two night pre stay at IC. By the time we clear customs, get on a bus, and get to the hotel it might be close to 11:00 p.m. We are thinking of changing the flight to the night before, arriving in Papeete at 5:00 a.m. that morning instead of late in the evening. That way we would have the entire day.

Any luck checking in before their 2:00 check in time? Should we even bother to try and change the flight? It just seems like such a waste of $$ to get there and then go to bed. I have no problem changing into a swimsuit and hanging out at the pool until check in. Do they allow that? Pros or cons for a.m. arrivals vs. p.m. arrivals?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  7. We cruised for the first time in Aug 2011. Did the 10 night because there was only 1 day at sea. And due to the time involved in getting there, 7 nights is just not enough. We did a two night pre-cruise at IC Tahiti. Was such an unbelievable trip that we are book again for a 10 night this July 29th. And we are counting the days ! :):):):)

  8. Hi

Getting ready to make the deposit on a 10 night for next July. We will do a 2 night pre-cruise stay at the IC Papeete. Just wondering if its worth it to join the IC Ambassadors Club. Is the guaranteed upgrade worth the $200 to join? I know I have a little time to decide as I don't think the prices are even listed yet for that time next year. Thanks in advance.

  9. Hi

Does anyone have any info about the 3d person in the cabin. I seem to recall that the 3rd person only pays air. And also that there were specific rooms set aside for this. I've tried to find it on their website but to no avail. We did the 10 night last August; best vacation of our lives. Looking to do another perhaps next year. Thinking our son may join us.

    Thanks in advance.

  10. Hi Carl & Cheri

Yes we did get to hear Jamie sing one night. I thought he was amazing. Sounded just like James Taylor. "You've got a friend" .... Really, really enjoyed listening to him. Wish we could have heard more. I hear ya as far as the weight gain and the cash. :D We're hoping for 2013.

  11. Hi

We were also on the Aug 12th excursion with Christophe. We are experiencing the FP flu really bad. We're are already seriously discussing a return trip. :) My husband was the new snorkeler and Christophe treated him with kid gloves. Took his time and explained everything and instructed him the entire way. My husband was thrilled to see all the wildlife. He had never done this before and we had taken many trips to other islands. I had either snorkeled by myself or with my son. I told my husband this was a once in a life time opportunity so he said he would give it try. The others are right. Christophe's excursion was the highlight for us. It was what being in FP is all about. And he loves what he does. He literally called out to that moray eel and out of his hiding place he came for lunch. It was absolutely amazing. I don't think any of us could quite believe it. With Christophe you will not be disappointed. Enjoy !

    Carol
