  1. Anyone know if there’s a refund for an OBC amount as the result of reward points from a RCCL Visa card?   Royal just cancelled the cruise, and our only OBC showing on the cruise planner is the amount provided as the result of RCCL credit card redeemed points.  Thanks in advance.

  2. Booked a family cruise to Eastern Caribbean on RCCL June 2020.   Would appreciate clarification exactly what, if any, identification is required for grandchildren who are

6, 8, 10 & 12 years of age.   One child will be traveling with biological mother, but does

not share her same last name, as father is deceased.  She is legal guardian.
Thanks in advance for your help!

  3. Mike,  I am so sorry for your loss!  We met you and Carol on the Solstice in March 2009.  We so enjoyed your company and reading your website of detailed cruise reviews!  May God comfort you and your family during this most difficult time.  Prayers 🙏🏻 for comfort and strength.

  4. WeJust sailed EDGE last week.  Was told by crew member that total passenger count for our sailing was about 2,300.  🤔  If that’s accurate .... do the math.   How many empty cabins?   Loved the ship.  Beautiful ship!  Food incredible.  Service excellent.  You can tell staff is overworked.  Our cabin steward was not permitted to tell us how many cabins she was responsible to service.  🤔   Merchandise shop ..... pair of swim trunks $345 ...... dress shirt $225 ......  EDGE beach towel $95.  Literally no one in high end shops.  Food in EDEN during breakfast and lunch ...... excellent.   EDEN “show” at night ....... the weirdest, teetering on satanic, performance I’ve ever witnessed at sea.  Passengers walking out shaking their heads in disbelief.  Oceanview Cafe excellent venue, food and service very good!  Embarkation and debarkation were the quickest most efficient movement of people.  Facial recognition is incredible.  Almost equaled Disney crowd  management.

My opinions only.  Remember ...... opinions are like noses 👃🏼.   Everybody has at least one!

  7. We disembarked EDGE yesterday.  Cruised with friends that had a 9:00am flight to California.  (Are you crazy?!?)  😂   Guest relations told them to be at EDEN by 6:45am.  They were first in line to walk off about 7:15am.  Breezed thru Customs (facial recognition is amazing) and grabbed a cab to FLL.  Boarded their flight at 8:10am.  Certainly wouldn’t recommend this, but can be done.

  8. Just returned on Sunday.  Tried all 4.  All very good.  We especially liked the service at Tuscan, so changed our table reservation for 6 for remainder of cruise to Tuscan with no problem.  Highly recommend 2 lady servers at Tuscan.  Fahrije and Rafaela.

    They're almost wonderful!   😂

  9. I guess this qualifies as a secret.   Just returned from AAA Travel Expo in Columbus, OH.  Had discussion at Celebrity booth with their representative.  Shared that we are sailing EDGE soon, and don’t believe every negative opinion we see online.   Told the rep we believe opinions are subjective and that we’re blessed to enjoy cruising and will be sailing with open minds.  Rep acknowledged X is acutely aware of some issues, have addressed some, and that more signicant changes are coming very soon.

Told me associates were given no specific timeline or details about what areas of the ship or services may be affected.  Assured me that X is listening and committed to “ironing out the wrinkles”.  Rep sailed EDGE in December and encouraged us to be sure and try the incredible breakfast and lunch selections served at EDEN.

  10. Way to much negativity by so many. Change can be a good thing. Lloyds photo's have been spectacular but a photo only shows so much. I can't imagine there will be that much less storage than in the past. Celebrity has always done of creating a great cruise experience. I believe this ship wil be no different. I for one will always make the best of any cruise that I am on. Like many previous cruises I hear people say how dissatisfied with the service my wife and I look at each other and say they must be on a different ship. I can't wait to get on this spectacular new ship 4/14/2019. Again Lloyd thanks again

  11. Cruise bubble is the fenced area surrounding the ship docks. Many stores, flea market type areas and eating venues (Margaritaville). I was told that Royal Caribbean invested heavily in the port. Very nice, newer buildings and facilities. We were there last week. Did not leave the fenced area. Talked to folks that did. They were immediately hounded by the “locals”. Turned around and re-entered the fenced area.

  12. Robyn, my wife and I are on this cruise with you, and couldn't agree more with your thoughts/ observations regarding the food. We don't consider ourselves picky eaters, but the overall selection/quality did fall short of expectations. In addition, we couldn't help but notice the overall weariness of the majority of the staff. I certainly know, and appreciate that the crew works very very hard and work very long hours. We make an effort to give more than the corporate structured daily gratuity amount. It appears overall staffing has been reduced and the existing staff is overworked. Just my opinion. I guess that's corporate America today? This did not ruin our trip this week, but was noticeable. Again, just my opinion.
