  1. We cruise on Royal with the kids and do Celebrity for just us adults:) I agree with the other posters that X is a much more relaxed atmosphere. I do think that the food and service are better on Celebrity, but that is just my opinion. I am Elite Plus on Celebrity and do use the perks such as the free internet minutes and laundry services (for the longer TA cruises).

This is picky, but if you get the Premium package on Celebrity then you can get a large or small bottle of Evian. On Royal..............they just give you a small bottle of water (not Evian). If you get the water package on Royal they deliver they deliver the set amount of bottles to your room. On Celebrity, you can get them throughout the cruise at any of the bars. On Royal you have to sign for the drinks even if you have the package, on Celebrity you never have to sign anything if you have the package.

    Just my 2 cents............Happy Holidays!

  2. Thanks Artemis! Appreciate your comments. I am not for hairy leg contests or belly flop contests and that is why we love Celebrity. However......I do like a good social crowd:) Dressing up isn't a big deal to me. We have done some European land tours and love them as well. I am a bit spoiled by the CS and I am comfortable with Celebrity and I guess that is why I hesitate on changing. We have met some great friends on Celebrity. Thanks ago an for your comments.

  3. Was on the Silhouette in April. You will see a mix of long and short (cocktail dresses). For me.......on the TA.......I typically take 1 long formal and 2 cocktail. Just depends on what you want to do. I love the formal nights so don't mind. Love seeing everyone from all different cultures in their formal attire (kilts, etc)

  4. I'm pretty sure that Celebrity's newest ships (Silhouette and Reflection) did away with helicopter landing pads and only have hover points (with fixed railings rather than collapsible ones) located where the Solstice etc had pads. I was told that often the available rescue helicopter exceeded the load limit, and that pilots generally preferred to hover rather than land. The only evacuations I have personally seen were hover. I was greatly impressed with the pilot's control under difficult conditions.

Just off the Silhouette and got to go on the helipad. We asked how they landed and one of the officers did say they collapsed.

  5. On our recent TA they announced overhead that they were needing blood donors. I just happened to have my card and was O-Negative. By the time I went to the room to get my card and back down to guest relations they already had enough volunteers. Not sure what happened, but we were nowhere close to land. Just hoped they were okay.

  6. I've cruised for many years and various cruise lines. Have to admit that Celebrity is my favorite and has my loyalty. I was shocked to see two dogs on the April TA. The one dog was obviously a well trained service dog assisting a lady on a scooter. The dog was at her side and extremely attentive....very well behaved. The shock to me was the small white dog that was being fed from the table in the Oceanview Cafe. The couple had the dog in a baby stroller but would feed it throughout their meal. This was bizarre! Only saw this dog one time but was not very pleased.

I was on this cruise too! The lady on the scooter's dog always had it's vest on and was very well behaved. Never saw a service vest on the dog in the stroller. We saw them several times and even in the main dining room.

  7. There use to be, but not anymore according to Celebrity. Last year I remember getting a discount when I ordered online so called them last week to see if there was a price difference or specials if ordering prior and they said no. They said they stopped offering the online discount sometime last year.

  8. Love, love, love the CS. Especially on a TA. We first booked a CS on a TA and haven't looked back on booking a CS over and over:) The seperate living space is nice on sea days. One person can go take a nap while the other reads or watches a movie in the living room area. We leave in a couple of weeks for the next TA and are so looking forward to it! You won't be disappointed.

Also have dined in Blu and it is great. Not every night because we still enjoy the MDR, but it is a nice change every once in a while. Haven't tried the breakfast, but may do it this time:D

    Enjoy your planning!
