Our son is studying for the bar and extremely stressed about missing a week of study. We are going to buy the unlimited package and its $224 if I buy it by midnight tonight (June 1st). If you were just on a cruise this past few weeks - can I buy it cheaper when we get on board the first day?
Thanks so much.
BTW - I did do the forum search and found that you can get discounts but it wasn't clear if that was from the very beginning of the cruise.
Thanks!

I'm alway curious at the posts about the 'terrible' food. Exactly what are you used to eating? I understand they are cooking for thousands at a time and in that regard they do an excellent job. I'm not a bad cook and enjoy preparing dinner in the evening when at home. On the ship I look forward to the variety of choices at dinner. If something wasn't to my liking (that didn't mean it was terrible, I just didn't enjoy it) they always were kind enough to offer me another option. At home, dinner is dinner, lol - there are no options if it's not what you wanted.
We enjoy the dining experience, slower service gives us time to enjoy the meal and each other's company. I really don't like when i'm out to eat and 30 minutes after I sit down the bill shows up on the table.
As far as towel animals, they are cute and a fun treat when I get back to the cabin after dinner. But truly, I'm just happy there are towels that are clean and hanging, I live in a house full of boys. Our room stewards have always been so nice and helpful...you'd be amazed at how far a few kind words and appreciation can go.
You are on vacation. Enjoy the experience, meet new people, learn new cultures and make the best of every situation. You could be at home on the couch watching re-runs of House Hunters and eating pizza that was delivered.
:D
Just to give a bit about my cruising experiences, I have been on around 20 cruises from Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Celebrity, Cunard, and Norwegian and find that every cruise was a great week away and I can never wait for the next one.

We are sailing on the Equinox in June. I was curious what are the free dining options? There are so many choices and I know some are free and some are up charges.
Thanks,
Becky

We are sailing on the Equinox on June 4th. We will be taking a tour with Native Choice to the ruins and then to the lagoon. They are a great company.
-
We are taking the Marv and Harv tour at the same time. How do you get to them w/o going back to the ship dock. That sounds like a good time saver.

We just booked with Ken with Northern Lights for a fishing trip mid June. Talked with him on the phone and he was very nice. Told us in Mid June we will most likely be looking at only King Salmon.
Our kids are super excited for the trip!

I see that only 4 ships are in Juneau that day, I wonder how many can dock? I have looked on the Celebrity website, but can't find the docking schedule. Can you send the link?
-
Take the 4:30 whale tour and see the glacier beforehand. When are you there?
-
I was hoping we docked, our tour gets us back at 9. But I'm sure it's a short tender ride.
-
We are docked from 1 to 10pm. Our plan is to take the Blue Shuttle to the Visitor Center and see that on our own. We have a Whale Watching Tour with Marv & Harv at 4:20 to 9:00. They have a great reputation and we will get a more personalized tour than the ship's tours.
BTW, we are on the Celebrity Solstice stopping there June 16th.
-
Someone will know something about what ever you need! Thanks for your help!
-
Thanks! We have booked the late tour. It is supposed to get us back to the ship at 9 and we leave at 10.
-
Does anyone know if the Solstice docks or tenders in Juneau? We will be there June 16, 2014
-
Does anyone know if the Solstice is docking or tendering in Juneau?
-
We are scheduled to arrive in Juneau at 1:00 on the Solstice, June 16. The 2:20 tour is full, but there are spots on the 4:20 tour. The ship doesn't sail until 10pm, so we would get back in time. I'm just curious if anyone has done the later tour?
-
We have these booked, but I'm curious about the views. I would use the search tool, but as we know, it's down. So I appreciate any pictures you have!
Thanks!

Which cabin where you in?
-
Where did that go? I hate asking questions that have already been answered.
-
I am looking at 6303, 6301,6299 cabins!
-
That is very helpful! So you could look out just fine, but just not straight down?
-
I am cruising to Alaska and definately want a balcony. Has anyone stayed in the partially obstructed balcony? How does is effect your view and what is the obstruction? I am looking at deck 7. Thank you.

I appreciate all the feedback! I will check on it as soon as we board!

When we cruised on Carnival, we had the option of booking a Chef's Table dinner that was a small dining experience in the kitchen with a menu created by the head chef. During the meal the Head Chef was there explaining the meal, taking you on a tour of the galley, and answering questions. It is amazing and a must do for a foodie! We are sailing on the Solstice and I would love to know if this is an option that Celebrity offers.
Thanks for any information!

I just booked our family (10) on the Magic for January 2013! Gonna be such a long wait, but will be worth it. I didn't think prices were that bad. We got 4 cabins (1 balcony and 3 inside) for $7000. That's just $700 a person for a week! How can you ever beat that! Can't wait to see actual pictures and reviews from those you are on her right now!

It's cheaper before we board and with being Select, I got the week for $168...that makes me happy and gives our son a peace of mind.
Thanks for the info!
