Whether he will be "allowed" to ride a horse or not, he should be kind to the horses and decline that excursion. As someone else mentioned, the horses I have seen in both the Caymens and Mexico are on the small side.
Totally agree. I will make my husband talk to his dad about it. Talk about awkward conversation!

Thanks for the help everyone. Will let him know. I am a bit surprised royal would refund. It seems like it should be the guests responsibility to know their own weight, but it is very generous of them.

They are very strict about the weight-limit for the zip-line in Labadee. And yes, they have a scale. If one weighs for example 251, it's a no-go for insurance reasons.
any idea what they do if he is over?

We are boarding Allure on Sunday and tonight my father in law mentions "oh do they weigh you on a scale before the zipline? Because I am near 250 so I am not sure how much I am." This of course means he must know he is over the limit. Then he says "oh well if I am over they can tell me there and give me a refund." I really doubt Royal would think "hey, he booked a spot that someone else could have but hey lets give him his money back!"
$@#$@#!! Months ago I asked the group as a whole "The excursions have a 250lb weight limit, please let me know if we should book something else or if you feel like you don't want to go for any reason" and he specifically said he was fine. Now three days before that is not the case.
We are booked on the Labadee Zipline and the Horseback Riding in the ocean in Falmouth. Both have limits listed of 250lbs.
Any idea how they handle weight limits? Do they have scales there? Will he go plummeting into the water if he is actually 260? [just kidding, I know that won't happen]
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So looking at the weather forecast, it looks like it may rain the day in Labadee. Does anyone know how Royal handles excursions with rain? We booked ziplines for 9 of us, an over the water cabana and more floating mats.
Anyone have any experience with this?

December 1, 2013 Falmouth cancellations for us too.
Horseback Ride with Dunn River Falls
and
Chukka Beach Break with Lunch
both cancelled on Thursday, we booked them over 2 months ago.
We were told to replace them with two other options which were both significantly worse options [one didn't have the falls, and the other beach option was an hour away instead of ten minutes away]
I called and they said "oh this is a very rare case, I have never seen a cancellation before." I said both of our excursions were cancelled for both halves of our cruising party and she said "oh, I am sorry I have no idea why, there are no notes here saying why. but this is very rare."
after seeing this thread....I call BS

Where did you get the individually wrapped medicine?

Hey everyone. I just called Royal to inquire about booking a Labadee cabana on our 12/1/13 cruise on Allure. The pre cruise dept lady told me in no uncertain terms that cabanas are first come first serve when you get on the cruise, but I remember reading before that others here have booked them ahead of time.
Am I nuts here? I know there is suite restrictions, but I am hoping to snag one even though we are just in an ov balcony so our little one can be shielded from the sun throughout the day.
thanks everyone.

Thanks for all the info. I guess that if they are expecting it then it wouldn't be so awkward. I'm a chef so I love to try different things out any chance I get!

I have to ask, was there any sort of awkwardness in the mdr or chops when you guys ordered many different items? Like did the waiter do a double take or anything or were they like "no prob!"
I am looking to experience a similar foodie outing but the hubby says its not nice to do that. Just want to know from someone who tried as much as they wanted how you asked and how they replied.
thanks!

Thanks I will definitely be posting pics of my chosen outfits as they get put together :)

Oh my, I am going to love being a part of this thread! I don't have any cruises till the end of the year, but I have already begun deciding on clothing.
Bought my first piece of clothing/accessory for the cruise today!
I couldn't help it, it was just too cute and will look adorable with my daytime beach outfit! [probably a navy bikini covered with a white deep v neck tee and short navy coverup skirt.

Would love to see an Enchantment food review since I will be doing the same sailing as you a month later! I plan on doing thorough food reviews of both of my upcoming sailings. I'm a chef, its in my blood I can't help it!

How closely do they look at your weight?

I am quite aware there are reasons. I am also acutely aware that it is out of my hands how he handles it, it is only my responsibility to inform him of how royal will likely handle the situation as I am the one who planned the whole cruise for everyone. But really, thank you for reminding me there is a reason for the rule.
