In general, port day breakfast times on Carnival change based on what time the ship gets into port. In other words, if there is an early debarkation time at the port, breakfast opens earlier. I don't know if this affects Venezia's current itineraries.

I don't know. The port day breakfast times were unchanged whether it was our 7 am arrival in San Juan or our 9 am arrival in Half Moon Cay last week.

I don’t think many people will admit to having more than a few hundred shares. Not with nclh. I can see why but I’ll keep sailing as long as I know what to expect and don’t overpay.

That is the key. Find a fair price for what they offer, and realigning expectations for the now expected itinerary disruptions.

We are diversified in multiple cruise companies. Unfortunately, we didn't buy enough RCL coming out of Corona time. Their return on investments have significantly outpaced Norwegian and Carnival. It isn't even close.

Because they do not control what the

'experts' project as far as revenue goes.  Revenue projects are just that, projections (a different way of saying guesses).  Besdies revenue is not anywhere nera as important as bottom line profit and EPS.  Looking only at revenue to make investment decisions is foolish.

    Ouch.

We're thinking of doing the Carnival Venezia next year. A few questions if you or whoever might see this, would answer.

Do they still have the $10 or $15 sale at least one day of the cruise?

Do they have a special "chocolate" night?

Do they still have formal nights, or maybe they call them dress to impress now?

Is there a deck that goes directly from the front of the ship to the back of the ship?

    1. Yes.

    2. Chocolate buffet in Lido Marketplace on final day.

    3. Yes. They call it elegant night. We had two on the 11day run. We saw everything from tuxedos and evening gowns to shirts and tank tops.

    4. All decks except Deck 3 since the galley is located midship on Deck 3. Deck 5 has an outdoor promenade that allows you to make it 75% of the way around that deck. The private Terraza balconies prohibit you from making the complete circle.

  5. These are all old menus. Menu price of 16 oz beers last week on Venezia are $9.25, this includes the carnival branded beers and imports. Domestic $8.75. You can get a "deal" if you buy a six pack for $49.50. Ouch. Pretty steep. We passed on drinking this time.

  6. We enjoyed sea day brunch and port day breakfast in the MDR on Venezia recently. The breakfast buffet is ok for MTO eggs, cereal, fruit and pastries, but we find the eggs benedict, pancakes, etc to be of room temperature and not hot. By the time we get coffee and reserve a table, it is magnified. If you don't get to the buffet before 930, expect long lines and overall chaos.

How do you know they don’t have a tiny letdown feeling if they don’t get an extra rip ?

No time to have any letdowns. Plus, why would they let someone else's actions control their feelings. Whether someone tips or doesn't tip extra is out of the control of the server, so no need to fret. They just move on to the next guest with a smile.

  8. Unfortunate to read, but not unexpected anymore. If you don't like it, consider doing what we did....take your business elsewhere. We've done one Princess and three Carnival since our last NCL. Maybe we are lucky, but we've had no itinerary changes and have made all scheduled ports of call. I have no idea if Carnival Corp is being environmentally friendly or if they are following guest feedback nor do I care. What I can say is that they delivered to us the exact vacations that were advertised  without excuses. We appreciate the stability as we continue to sit on multiple unused NCL cruise next certificates.

I don't know if I will get any feedback here, but I thought I would ask. I'm sorry to read some of the issues the poster went through, but since I am from the mid west, I know we would not be cruising out of NYC. My main question is to those that DID cruise the Carnival Venezia over the past year, would you mind giving me your feedback on this ship, as we are thinking of doing it.

We just returned from the 11 day. Overall, it was a nice cruise. The ship decor is very Italian and we found it to be beautiful...think Roman columns, lots of faux Italian marble. There can definitely be pinch points at peak times, there can be line ups for comedy shows, buffets, dinners etc. it all depends how you cruise. ...eat dinner at 8 versus 630, no lines. Get to the comedy shows before 8 pm, versus the 945 show, again no problem...walk right in and get a seat. Want to lounge on deck or swim in the pools at 1pm on a sea day, good luck, you'll have plenty of company. The MDR food was decent, sometimes inconsistent in temperature. No one went hungry. We found the Lido buffet to be of poor quality from a food offering and service perspective. The understaffed Lido crew is overworked and that translates to very few smiles from them. I couldn't imagine doing that job over and again for 7 months at a time. For the price we paid, we would sail Venezia again.

  10. Disappointed to read this. Our recent experience on Venezia is that they are woefully understaffed in crew on Lido. They couldn't handle the huge demand for the included offerings, with regular lines for pizza, deli, chopsticks and marketplace approaching 30-40 people, 10-20 minute wait. They'd be better off using that area for an additional included mini-buffet.
