  1. to clarify----------we have an FCC/FCV from March 2022--just because we cancelled ourselves 2 weeks before Oceania cancelled  our Cruise------had we waited we would have received a Cash Refund

we tried to use our FCC Summer 2021 only for Oceania to cancel---leaving us with the same FCC

and Dec 2022 deadline-----so we booked a Feb Miami sailing --and now see Itinerary changes----many drop out and they are given March 2023 extensions

But if we remain hesitant and also drop out----and cant find anything we like this Fall-----we lose

everything. ------------a March 2023 extension would give better Miami 2023 options

  2. It seems Oceania is issuing FCC's for Jan/Feb Cancellations with March 2023 Deadlines---but only to Clients who paid CASH for these Cruises

Those of us who are frantically trying to use 2020-issued FCC's for Jan/Feb Sailings and who are now having some last-minute second-thoughts are still told that the Dec 2020 deadline is unchanged. Oceania has held our Cash since early 2020-----and if for any reason we cannot sail Feb 2022----and find anything we like until Dec 2022 especially with so many Summer/Fall Cruises now waitlisted--looks like we'll lose everything--unless Oceania relents.

Some of us even booked Summer 2021 Cruises to use our FCC only for Oceania to cancel

  3. What is the current Oceania Policy on issuing a Cash Refund on an almost $20k FCC-----issued Spring 2020 when we acted too fast by cancelling ourselves a Cruise just before Oceania cancelled---ending up with an FCC which should have been used Summer 2021 for Norway which never happened-----should now be used finally for a February 2022 Miami Cruise-----which now looks as if it might have 'Destination Issues' if it sails at all----and with an FCC "Expiry" of December 2022.

Is there any way they would refund?------extending an FCC into 2023 not a good option these days!!

looks like UK Banks operate differently to the big 5 in Canada--am surprised

Within 24 hours of submitting a formal ChargeBack Claim---with email backup evidence--the full amnt of a large deposit was showing as a Credit on my Visa Card-----that allowed me to obtain from that Bank a Draft for the full amnt which I was able to deposit in my normal Deposit Account in another Bank.

    No waiting 90? days

  5. Oceania initially pulled a fast one by offering Cancellations with only a FCC--many

went for it incl myself------only to learn later that had we waited we would then have been given the option of a full 'Cash' Refund.

Everyone who jumped at the first Offer is now holding a FCC to be used in 2? years

if we are still alive-----if Oceania still operates----while they keep every dollar from everyone who had fully paid-up Cruises at that moment.

So IMO not so easy to be continue being patient for other Refunds---40 days after cancelling 2012 Cruise our CCard Bank reversed another $12000 Deposit within 24 hours of being asked. Cannot see how Oceania can 'challenge' what some might call a 'dispute'

Yes------Oceania requires a 20pct Deposit for e.g Vista level Cruise more than 120 days ahead if FCC value would not cover 100pct of Cruise Cost------but if at the same time they still hold e.g $10K unrefunded Deposit for another Cruise would have expected Oceania to combine both amounts to offset the need for any 2nd Cash Deposit.

    That is not their Policy.

More importantly without any Cancellation Guarantee for sailings after Sept 30 any bookings for Oct/Dec Sailings at the moment seem a big gamble.

  7. From Oceania's standpoint under today's financial nightmare they face, contract

    conditions will trump 'ethical' considerations.

We have both a FCC to use----and a separate Deposit to be still refunded-----more than enough if combined to cover a late 2020 Canada/USA Cruise if we were so inclined--and if the border reopens.

But if we wanted a 'premium' suite----at a cost higher than the combined outstanding dollar amount---------Oceania requests yet another upfront cash deposit now--despite not yet having sent the Cash Refund--without having in place any Cancellation Guarantee for Sailings after Sept 30.

So no worth the gamble to book----will wait for the Cash Deposit Refund---and hope FCC

    works in 2021

  8. If Cruises resume this year I believe Canada/USA Sept/Oct most likely subject to a reopening of the Border---easy flights for both US and Canadian Residents compared to Europe.

And the latest price reductions do look attractive

An easy way to use any FCC-----but not if Oceania continues to delay any Cash Refunds and demands another Cash Deposit------which seems their current policy if FCC less than total cruise fare.

Otherwise will take a long time!

  9. On March 10 we cancelled March 21 Miami Riviera with their only then Offer of 100pct FCC--------3 days later with Oceania's own cancellation we would have been offered either 125pct FCC or 100pct Cash Refund

Assume Oceania will not un-cancel----and then re-cancel with the better Offer?----------just dreaming?

  10. We are also interested----visited Swakopmund 3 years ago on a Sunday when almost everything closed--and don't like idea of a bumpy 4x4 with steep dunes

Pls post if you find anything
