  1. I spoke with Cunard recently asking if I can book a OW- LHR to NYC, for my sail back to Southampton... if they had a flight booking system ( like Celebrity’s “Choice Air”)

I was told: NO! As I booked via an agent, they would have to book flights...

so I booked flights myself at a very good rate & without the hassle of deal with an agent.

  2. I’m unsure which is best, but I know I saw them in Bora Bora. They were to far down to say I swam with them, but I certainly got an amazing look at them swimming.

The guide certainly gave the impression there was a good chance of seeing them on the day snorkel trip...

Nature being nature, it’s all down to luck in the end of the day.

  3. Before your condition/s are accepted and a policy issued, the insurer needs to know your not travelling against medical advice..

So providing the letter outlines you are not travelling against medical advise and your medical history is accepted, you’ll be set to go...

    - many insurers will ask if you are undergoing treatment, expecting treatment and if you have had medical attention within a set period of time.. (eg: 6 or 12 months).

  4. Buying a package allows you to buy multiple meals at a reduced price.

The more meals the cheaper each meal becomes...

For example: a one alone single purchase of a speciality meal may cost $50.

However if you average out the cost of a single meal from a multi package... the cost per meal may be $10-$15 cheaper.

The only rule from memory is that celebrity ask you at time of purchase, to book a dinner time for the first meal on night one or two of the Cruise. Plus Celebrity will allocate the venue.

All remaining package meals can be booked once you board... you’ll be able to choose the date, time and restaurant venue.

You can choose the same eating venue over and over again if you wish.

  5. I had a 4 meal package last April whilst doing the transpacific cruise: Sydney to Honolulu.

The first meal needed to be booked either on the first or the second night of the cruise. I did this online.. Celebrity was meant to allocate the venue...

The remaining 3 other meals I could choose which days and times I wished.

In reality: the first meal was not pre allocated by Celebrity. When I asked on boarding where I would be dinning on night two, I was told in a very causal manner, oh we haven’t arranged anything, so you can choose what ever venue and any date I liked...

So it was a win win for me I think. [emoji3]

  6. I was on the Solstice last April/May... from memory... each alcove for a sea day, I think was around $199US and a port day $99US or maybe a little more.

I didn’t see any used for the whole duration of my 18night trip.

  7. The Polynesian Island tours certainly do book up super fast.

I facilitated snorkelling tours in both Bora Bora and Moorea whilst on the Celebrity Solstice back in April/May this year.

Bora Bora- we used Patrick’s tour... as already mentioned. The tour was sensational. Our boat opted for a slightly longer day trip. This included a stop to see Manta rays and an extra long reef swim/ snorkel at an additional spot. The other boats didn’t do these extra bits.

In all, the CC board-roll call...booked up a total of 6 boats...

Moorea we used a fantastic company called Miti tours.

    Highly recommend.

Both tours included amazing beach lunches ( you in-fact site on a table in the sea) with booze... ample time to swim and snorkel...

from memory the tours cost about £60-70 each...

I would book directly ASAP.. if they have no places, Ask them if their places are being booked by someone from CC roll call.

I had people constantly call my cabin asking if there were places free on each tour, right up until the tour set off.

These islands are small, so when a Hugh ship arrives..... there are more people than places...

There were people on both islands on the pier selling tours... from memory, they were not too expensive.

  8. Immigration started processing at 8am. So that was 6hours for us.

Ship tour people were at the front of the line and everyone else were behind them.

Thankfully Celebrity gave estimation times and called group numbers as able. This helped keep things organised.

People with private tours had no chance of getting off in time for an all day tour.

  9. I know this isn't a Cunard Experience, but a Celebrity Solstice one, in May this year.

Following our arrival into the USA..(Maui) after a trans-Pacific crossing, it took my mother and I (non USA)until 14hrs to clear USA immigration. The line behind us continued to wrap around the deck and in and out of several public spaces... I have know idea what time the people on the end of the line were cleared.

And yes! We were finger printed, photographed & had our paper ESTA documents examined.

Thankfully the ship didn't sail until later that evening, so at least we got a few hours on shore...

  10. I heard on a radio programme this week, the gentlemen who was reduced by the QM2, had previously spoken badly about why he doesn't like and would not ever consider doing a cruise holiday.

However, following his Queens Grill entertainment, and QM2's givings...he is now reconsidering his cruise holiday views...
