  1. I've done the Fantasy twice since it came to Charleston. I lived there for two years and love to go back..... it's just a great place to visit and is only about 3-1/2 hours from Charlotte.

The Fantasy is 70,000 tons, compared to 130,000 for the Magic and Dream. It's a great ship, though with a convenient layout and outstanding service. I prefer the itinerary which includes Key West, but even though people knock Nassau, I've always found something interesting to do there.

It will be nice if some of the South of Broad crowd in Charleston can take off their blinders and allow the facilities to accommodate more ships and maybe some other cruise lines.

  2. Jim hasn't given up on us. He will definitely be back soon to finish the review and pictures. He really is "gifted" in the way he can review a cruise with such attention to detail, amazing pictures, and humor. He's been extremely involved with "real world" stuff lately, including being the group leader for a cruise on the Carnival Conquest out of New Orleans on January 20. You guys should join us. :)

  3. Great Review!! You people know how to have a good time.

Questions for the golf cart renters in Grand Turk. Was it worth the

money to do this tour on your own? Did you feel safe while driving

the cart? How long are how far did you go?

    Thanks for any info

On one of our trips a group of six rented golf carts to go around Key West and got a parking ticket! I'll be sailing with some of them next week and I'm going to try to look out for them. :)

  4. The Washroom facilities were located at the end of the Beach closest to the Tender Pier and up a set of rather steep stairs. I know I was up there twice and on both occasions, both going up and coming down the stairs, I could hear some elderly people or those with decreased mobility complaining about the location of the Facilities. 'What can you do about the fact it’s on top of the Hill/" I thought to myself …Had they not heard the expression about that stuff “rolling downhill”?

    .

At least those "elderly people" you're abusing were able to make it off the ship. Some of us had suffered such dire injuries that all we could was sit in a wheelchair at the railing of the ship and longingly watch the people cavorting and romping on the beach while all I could do was softly whimper and sob.

  5. My introduction to Suck and Blows was on my first trip as a single and also my first Carnival cruise about 6 years ago and my S & B partner was Shelly. I had never heard of Suck and Blows, due to my having led a protected, nay holy, life. I'm not sure if Shelly had, either, because we didn't know the rules and we were both blowing for a long time and then we apparently switched at the same time and were both sucking.... at some point, we were desperately switching back and forth while everyone mocked us and finally succeeded. I had no idea that you were supposed to choose "roles" as either a sucker or the suckee or a blower or the blowee.

  6. Didn't think your 'verklempt' worked anymore;):D

Remember...Your hankie was wrapped around your toes

My "verklempt" works just fine, thank you, as long as I have peanut butter, a monkey wrench, lots of dental floss and a big container of glitter.

I had forgotten about wrapping the pink lace-trimmed hankie around my toes.... if they're going to be broken at least they can be stylish.

    :)
