  1. Thanks for your review, Johnny. We were on the 21 January 2018 cruise. Yes, Puerto Madryn was dropped because of the Pod Issue. Unfortunately, we didn't get to Port Stanly in the Falklands, either. The weather was really bad the day and night before we were to anchor and tender. 70 MPH winds and 20 ft seas. We were in the Aqua Class Staterooms up in deck 11 aft. She was rocking and rolling that night. We had to tie the shower door handles together to keep them from banging all night long :-) . We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise, too.

  2. I've always downloaded the Guest Ticket Booklet from my online reservation information. It's an Adobe PDF File. The Luggage Tag is located on the next to last page. Print out a few, follow the folding directions, write your name in the space then seal it with 3M clear packing tape front and back. It will not tear apart. Carry a small stapler to attach. Better yet, punch holes on both ends and use small cable ties to attach. I rather enjoy making them as part of the cruise planning routine.

  3. Definitely can do tables for 2. That said, many of the 2 tops are close together. You have your "privacy", but can easily talk with your fellow diners. BLU is located on Deck 5 aft, past the Ensemble Lounge, Port Side. You should be able to download the Equinox Deck Plans from Celebrity - or other sources.

  4. You may want to check Viator's website. We did private cars from Narita to our Tokyo Hotel and then from our Tokyo hotel to the Yokohama cruise terminal. It was expensive period, but was very nice. Viator also has shared transportation that is more reasonably priced. The other option is to use the rail/subway system, which is more stressful than necessary.

  5. You could have cancelled your prepurchased drink plan and then just rebought it whilst onboard.

With all due respect, we were already on board and the package had been booked and paid for pre-cruise. I can't believe that Celebrity would have given me a credit for something charged to a credit card "on-shore", then given away an on-board purchase. There is a contractual element here. A court case would likely not have been advantageous to anyone but the lawyers.

Beav, Was the BOGO on the Transpacific May 7 - 21, 2018? If so we were on that cruise and had the Premium, also. I guess it was the "Luck-of-the-Draw". I can't remember seeing a BOGO for that on any other cruise we've been on.

Guess I didn't finish my thought originally.

I was surprised with the BOGO offer.

  8. We get the Premium Package, now. The coffees at Al Bacio, soft drinks and water (2 or 3 times a day). Of course the wine and great drinks, especially with top shelf, are the number one reason. Thought this photo would be a great advertisement for the Beverage Package in general. Note the sign in the background. It just happened. This was at the Martini Bar for a Martini Flight, one afternoon. I did do the "Show Pour" - all seven at once - Thanks to Adrian on the Millie.

  9. Hi, all. Sorry we did not meet up OrlandoVic. Yeah, it was a very smooth crossing - BOTH MONDAYS! The whole cruise was really nice. YEas, go to Petropavlosvk. We took the Ships Excursion - Wimpy? No a bit of a necessity from a minor mobility issue. Did the Dacha tour - really fun. Amazing scenery, Kaiten Zushi in Hakodate was a blast. As you can see from our cruises, we've been fortunate. This was in the top 3. I hope this link helps...

  10. Thanks everyone, deck 5 it is. I have a starboard balcony cabin on the Penthouse deck but have read sometimes Celebrity "backs in" to the Sydney terminal.

I plan on signing up for the Behind the Scenes tour also.

Hi, Mel. It is an interesting operation. I really like the transfer of the Pilots from the pilot boat, while underway. I've taken tons of photos in all types of seas. As for the "Behind the Scenes", now that is fascinating. Did it on a Panama Canal Cruise and ended the tour up on the bridge with the captain and "cakes and champagne". Learned that all the water on-board is from distillation, etc. Looking forward to the Solstice in Jan 2016. CHEERS!

  11. Wierd! Is this your local hospital rule, State rule, some generalized policy? Wish some medical folks would weigh in. [i did hear a rumor that those of us who live in Panama couldn't give blood after visiting the US ... something about the risk of something called "blue/red disease."] Regards, Richard

BTW -Malaria is not a problem in 99% of Panama, just like West Nile disease isn't a problem in most of the US.

Sounds like an "Ex Pat" Disease :D Too funny, Richard. Keep the water in Lake Gatun, sir, and send those ships to Florida! CHEERS!

  12. Thanks for the link... This may be a bit "closer".

More to follow... Good outcomes are always welcome. Kudos to Solstice's command. CHEERS!

Update - Glad the mariners were properly prepared and all worked out OK. Pull up a Google map. Talk about the middle of nowhere! I guess, in my younger days it would have been an adventure.

"...stranding them on a small remote island." You gotta admit it. Gilligan's Island comes to mind.

  13. Hi, Jane. Number one-You've done the due diligence. (You're just across the state from us, cool.) We did a Celebrity Repo through Alaska. A really great trip. I understand you'd like to do this again so YOU BOTH can enjoy the trip. I admire you're resolve. We had a kind of situation last summer in France. I would do it again so WE BOTH could enjoy it. You've done good, madam. Hey, it's Alaska, which is amazing. As it is said, "Don't sweat the details" - you already have. Go for it, enjoy it, see it and rejoice in the experience. Bless your SIL's Dad for his service! CHEERS!

  14. We're on the Solstice in Jan. 2016. I will consider a "Ships Tour" on this cruise. We did it on a Panama Canal transit on a Princess cruise in 2010. Absolutely fascinating! From the keel to the stacks. Crews quarters and recreation. Medical facilities-Impressed; Engineering - Gray water can be consumed?-you bet. The bridge - just too cool and finished with Champagne and cakes with the Captain and officers. If you want to know how this "City-at-Sea" operates, go for it.

  15. Too funny, Bill. Hey, jetcruiser. Read the book, "Path between the Seas", if you haven't. If you like history and engineering (I think I see an FD patch-I did in my YOUNGER years) you'll appreciate the canal transit even more. I found the transit amazing. Most folks don't know that the canal and locks are filled by a "man-made" lake (Oh - "artificial", gotta be PC). Google Panama Canal Cams for real time video. Our Panama Canal cruise is near the top of our list. As for the Centennial Bridge and Culebra Cut, get as high up and forward for the best pics. I could look at my photo time stamps, but Bill is right, it depends on the traffic. Heck, we had a Canadian Sub pass us while in the canal. Now that was cool. CHEERS!
