  1. I was in c144 for 24 nighters this Nov/Dec. Right near the lift and stairs but didn't hear much at all. Was a bit creaky when it was a bit rough but other than that it was lovely and quite roomy. I managed to fill wardrobes and drawers with all my stuff. Enjoy.

Many thanks Moonraker, I am sure we will have a great time.

  2. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn, Herbert Walker Avenue, we have also stayed at the Novotel. Both lovely but HI nearer docks and their park and stay cruise package is better value.

Without fail we always eat at La Regata, 10 minutes walk from H.I opposite Red Funnel, lovely food and atmosphere.

  3. Agree fully, but we love the light and air that a balcony gives, like you we are always out and about but still like a balcony, and despite some very negative comments about Britannia we want to try her for ourselves, thank you for your reply.

  4. We are looking at Arcadia for August 2016 to Iceland and never sailed on this ship. I appreciate there are mixed views about all ships as we all look for something different from our time away, but I would be grateful for advice on the best deck and position of balconies on Arcadia. We love C deck on Azura and Ventura and wondered if there where any large balconies on Arcadia.

Plus what are your views on the mini suites on this ship, it will be our 30th Wedding anniversary and may just treat ourselves - pennies dependant!

Do you receive priority boarding for a mini suite or just full suites.

Sorry for so many questions but before booking would like to have all facts.

Many thanks in advance for any advice given :):)

  5. We travel down from Middlesbrough but always stay the night before, would never chance travelling on the day, too many holds ups etc. on the MI. Like Kevinyork we use M1/A43, Never go near the lovely M25!

We usually stay at the Novotel or Holiday Inn, enjoy a lovely meal at La Regatta, just an extra nights holiday really.

Takes us around 6 hours which includes a couple of stops.

Have a wonderful cruise, you'll love Ventura.:)

  6. Think you are wrong there. If you go on p and o website you will see that there are 2 sets of deck plans. One for 2014 and another for 2015

GC is a balcony cabin grade for 2014 , I am booked on one, but cabin grades change for 2015, totally different to 2014. Hope this helps

Thanks for this - I thought there was a GC grade in 2014 and looks like it has changed - that's put my parents mind at rest - Thank you

  7. May seem a rather silly question - My parents have a GC grade cabin on their PO invoice for their cruise in September but the New Brochure shows no GC grade - Does anyone know what GC grade is now classed as - many thanks in advance.

  8. Hi,

We also used Alla Tours in June 2011, they were outstanding - we actually went with 8 others we met on Cruise Critic, we put a message on the Roll Call for anyone interested. Organised direct with Alla - Very easy and they arrange all visas.

Paid on the second morning and for us, for a two day tour that covered everything, we even added in the Church of the spilled blood by popular request and paid a dollar or two more each it was far cheaper than P&O. Its a fantastic city and worth seeing all you can :)

  9. Cruised on Oceana twice on 2013, for me never again, just do not like this ship, on the other hand my husband loves it!!

No real alternative dining, no really nice places to have a drink, all too much pub/club orientated for me.

Cabins in need of modernisation, and compared to Azura, Ventura and Aurora very small cabins.

Every pub/restaurant except Footlights and Starlight's is within 10 metre walk of the Atrium, I just do not like the atmosphere of the ship but as I said husband loves it. We all look for something different on a ship and I am sure you will love it. :)
