  1. It's nice to see this thread is still alive after all these years, and some of the folks I know are still posting (Hi BDJAM :-) ) I've been on a hiatus from cruising for a few years, and just moved from Cali to Florida. Booked a 9-day RCI cruise out of New Orleans, but it's not until December of 2013, so guess I'll have to get more active in Cruise Critic to pass the time...Ted

  2. Yes, it is an unusual day for SF. Three ships to see: Sapphire Princess and Radiance making stops on their way north, and Infinity starting it's voyage here. We will be heading to the dock to board the Infinity for an 11 day Alaska cruise. This will be a great way to compare ship designs and sizes (though they are all about the same size). David

If you dine in the United States restaurant let me know how you liked it. One of my favorites. :)

Since it doesn't look like we'll be getting together before you leave, best wishes on your move to VA. I enjoyed meeting you at Martuni's and the emails we traded while you were at Wells. Have a great cruise on the Mercury, and keep in touch! :)

  4. Hmmm, I'm not sure if I'd prefer a tight upper..., or a tight... bottom Well never mind :-)

    Treven, too funny! :D

If anyone's looking for a little 3-day getaway cruise up the coast, Celebrity has really discounted the prices on the Infinity SF-Vancouver on June 1st. I've been watching this for awhile and finally booked it Friday.

  5. Ed/Jeff,

We've done the cruise up and Amtrak home thing and as I recall, the train leaves Vancouver around 6 at night and gets into Seattle around 10, but the Coast Starlight leaves the next morning, so you'll have to arrange overnight accomodations in Seattle. It's a nice way to come home, though I'd advise springing for a higher class sleeper cabin, as the lowest class has bunk beds and that upper berth is kind of tight.
