  1. Not a bar, but a complimentary self-service specialty coffee machine.

Thank you so much! This will work for us. We might just have to do a water package.

  2. in the SL on Adventure OS, are comp. sodas, beer and wine avail all day, like on oasis class ships, 11-11 I think?

Do you know if they have a coffee bar in the lounge?

  3. We are also in a suite but took a drink package. We enjoy drinking in the afternoon and not from a restricted list. We also drink bottled water, specialty coffees and soft drinks during the day. This is why we are taking the package

We will purchase the refreshment package as we can still get the flavored water, non alcoholic cocktails, soda, specialty coffee and most importantly bottled water! My husband is a beer drinker (likes his micro brews) so he always has to downgrade his beer choices when we cruise. So this 3.5 hours will work perfect for us. Thank you all for your information.

  4. The Suite, Diamond, and Concierge lounges are still offering complimentary soda, selected beers and wines, and basic cocktails during a 3.5 hour period in the evening.

  5. You are reading some very old info. There has not been an honor bar for at least 10 years. Also, there is no Concierge Lounge on Adventure, it was removed. A Suite Lounge was added at the same time.

The Suite Lounge is open to guests in Grand Suites and better, and Pinnacle Club C&A members. Complimentary cocktails for 3.5 hours every evening.

We are booked in a Grande Suite in June of 2019. We were given a paper with all the suite perks and the complimentary cocktails are not listed. Can someone confirm they are still doing this? It would save us a ton of money as my husband wants the all inclusive package and I do not.

This was given to us by the next cruise staff on July 7, 2018 when we booked our Grande Suite on the Adventure of the Seas for 2019. Hope this helps and puts all the rumors to rest.

  7. We have been on the Anthem twice and it was baskets of bread on the table each time. We however asked our waiter for the cheesy bead each night as that is my DH’s favorite. Every night after that, a basket of cheesy bread. If you ask, they will work hard to accommodate.

  8. Glad you have no issues with the policy/rule -- no policy is perfect. Every time your oldest cruises with you or on their own) they will keep accumulating their points. Both of your children are fortunate to have cruised with you to have a base number of points to build off of.

I understand that everything has a cutoff. We love cruising and I love that my adult children still want to vacation with me. These are memories that will last a lifetime. The rest is just trivial.

  9. The way I understood this to be was, yes children living with their parents and cruising, have the status of their parents and accumulate points accordingly. Once the child reaches the age of 18, there status is independent of their parent, but they retain the status achieved. So in this case yes your younger child began their cruising career at whatever level you had when they took their first cruise and started to build their own point history from that time. When they reached the age of 18 and they were Diamond at that time, they may have only had enough points on their own to be Platinum, but they will still remain Diamond. They won't achieve Diamond Plus until they 'on their own' achieve the point level that is needed to be D+. The younger child WON'T lose their Diamond status when cruising.

I hope that my understanding is accurate....but that is what friends with children have told me.

We were platinum when my oldest child hit 18. We will be diamond when my youngest hits 18. This makes it hard when we cruise as a family as my oldest can not attend the DL with us.

  10. I didn't make the rule.

And if your child is living with you...that child has the same C&A level as

    you do...hence...would be a Diamond also. ;)

However, once your child hits the lovely age of 18 they stop. So I have one who is Platinum and one who will be Diamond. They are only four years apart in age, but we started cruising later in the first ones life.

  11. For St John I can recommend using Roy's tours. We used him last October, and we're using him again this October too... http://roystours.webs.com/

When we were in Halifax we used... http://halifaxcruiseshipshoretours.com/

We did the highlights and Peggy's Cove tour. We skipped the Maple Syrup place and lunch to spend more time seeing the other places. They will design the tour to what you want to see.

    Hope that helps!

    Have a great time!

Thank you for your reply. The DSs want to go deep sea fishing, so I am going to arrange that in Halifax. The DH and I will do a bit of sight seeing. For everyone getting anxious about me sending the DSs off by themselves, they are 22 and 18. We are still looking for ideas in St Johns.

  12. I promised my cruise-loving oldest son that I would take him and a friend on any cruise that he wanted (that leaves out of the US) for his HS graduation which is June 2018. He has done the tropical/beachy itineraries as well as 2 to Alaska and has informed me he would love to see the East Coast and the Eastern side of Canada (we live on the West Coast). He has a particular interest in seeing NYC so I am hoping to possibly leave out of there but it is not mandatory. I have been stalking the various sites for these itineraries to open up but there is very little so far. In addition to that itinerary he wants a "cool" ship. He was very impressed with the Allure and is hoping for something with a similar young person appeal (I was thinking a Quantum Class on Royal but that is not mandatory either). Does anyone have an inside scoop on when summer 2018 East Coast itineraries will be out? And does anyone have any suggestions for which ship he might enjoy?

I am also taking my cruise loving son on a New England/Canada cruise for his graduation. We are doing the June 29, 2018 on the Adventure of the Seas. I was able to book an Owner's Suite for what the cost of two interiors cost on the bigger ships. I will also have his 22 year old brother and my dear husband with me. Maybe we will be on the same ship at the same time? If not, have a wonderful cruise.
