If you look at RCCL's FAQ section you might find the answer to your question. They list which sailings require testing.

Does RCCL still require a RAT for all sailings out of USA ports?

I completely agree with Cruiser Bruce. "Best" is very subjective. Last September we went to Hawaii for
the first time in 45 years. I contacted the "Hawaii Visitor and Convention Bureau" and "Go Hawaii" to get current information about things to see and do there. Our mode of transportation was a 11 night cruise from Vancouver, BC to Honolulu. The seas were fine except for day 2 which was a little rough.
Contact the bureaus I provided to get the free information about Hawaii and have a wonderful time there. Good luck!

We stayed at the HIE Waikiki after our cruise early last month. Excellent staff, good room and breakfast.
The only issue was the rooster in the park across the street from the hotel. He would get rather vocal and loud early in the morning. 😬

Excellent advice from hrhdhd. We were on the Eclipse recently and my wife went the morning after embarkation and got the day and time she wanted. Enjoy the class!

Celebrity will send you an email letting you know when check-in begins for your cruise.

I have seen partner dancing in the Atrium when they had live music playing.

I would also like to recommend Bob's Limos. They have a shared ride service that has reasonable
fares in addition to the private ride service. We have used them several times with excellent results!

Thank you!
Besides the Vatican museums, what other must-see/must do sites would be recommended for first time visitor with 4 days available?…
The Colosseum, Pantheon and Borghese Galleria to name a few.🙂

11hrs I believe
A few years ago we were on a Celebrity cruise that stopped in Salerno. I started a shared tour that went to Sorrento, Positano and Ravello. The tour company was Italytoursharing. We also were taken to lunch in Positano. I believe the entire tour was almost 8 hrs. We all had a wonderful time on the Amalfi coast!

How long will your ship be in Sorrento?

We have used Bob's Limo several times on our trips to Rome and Civitavecchia with their shared ride
service. Excellent service and competitive rates. I highly recommend them.

I'm enjoying this series as well. Try not to dismiss the meat conversation of the less fortunate in Italy.
We've had the same thing here in the USA since the early 1700's and now some these meat items are the main draws at a lot of restaurants here and in Italy. Glad to see Armando al Pantheon was visited.
Looking forward to the Milan episode!

The Passport Card is used for re-entry to the U.S. by land or sea from Canada, Mexico, Caribbean and Bermuda. And not valid for international use by air. I would bring my Passport Book with me for excursions in Europe.

Howdy Lonedaddy! You have gotten excellent information from the above posters. I would only add that you should get a Rome guide book if you don't already have one to help you decide on what and how you want to see and do. Also, check out Walks of Italy(a tour company) to see if any of their tours appeal to you. And yes, you can see several sites in 3 days with good planning. You and DW should have a wonderful time. The best of luck to you both and enjoy Rome!

I personally haven't taken a food tour of Rome as of yet. However, this past October I provided my daughter and her fiance
with a gift card for eatingeurope/eatingrome. She stated that they had wonderful food and a great tour.

I would contact your hotel and ask them. They should be able to provide you with that information. Enjoy Barcelona and your cruise!

Live and learn, I will probably not be returning to Europe so I guess I will be spending everything before my return. Thanks for your response, I thought it was outrageous but was not sure.
Nessa55, don't beat yourself up about your euro purchase. In 2014 we went on Med Cruise and we had an ATM machine eat a debit card and euros were about $1.34 ea. I believe whether you purchase euros before you leave home or wait til you arrive in europe is a matter of personal choice. Do whatever is comfortable for you. And contact BOA about returning leftover euros. Have a wonderful time in Barcelona!

We will be staying in Rome in November for 4 days. Do you have any recommended tour guide websites that you have used? We are starting with the Coliseum and Vatican on our list of must see.
We too have used Dark Rome/City Wonders that was mentioned above and they did not disappoint. I would also suggest that you look into Walks of Italy, another wonderful tour company!

Is there a fixed rate for taxis from the airport in Barcelona to hotels downtown (nothing out of the way)?
Thanks.
We are trying to avoid paying some weird rate by a driver who judges we don't know what we are doing, as foreigners with jet lag
GCGeezerCouple. Here is a link that I believe will provide you with the info that you seek. barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/airport/transport/barcelona-airport-taxis.html.

We had planned to return to our favourite restaurant ever, Vecchia Roma, in the Monte Area of Rome. Sadly, they will be closed when we are on holiday !
It is just such an amazing, REAL, taste of Italy and the locals would queue to eat here. It was not expensive either -- would pay double.
Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a traditional, real, traditional restaurant where the locals go.
Thanks
If you are looking for another wonderful restaurant in the Monti area of Rome. May I suggest you try La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali. It's an excellent family run restaurant with a possible 50/50 split between locals and tourists.
We have eaten there the last 2 times we were in Rome (2016 & 2018) and have never had any problems with food or service.
Check out the menu on their website. You won't be disappointed.

You are correct about not seeing an option for guided tour + 1 tower. It doesn't exist. In 2014, we did the basilica with audioguide and 1 tower. In 2016, we did guided tour of the basilica and no tower. Both were good, however I enjoyed the guided tour more (you could ask questions and get answers from the guide).
Your tickets will be for a specific time slot selected by you based on availability of that time slot. And no I don't believe you
can purchase a ticket for the elevator to just visit the towers. Your ticket voucher will allow you to skip the line to go to customer service to get your audioguide or direct you to where the guided tour will meet.
Enjoy your time in Barcelona!

OMG so embarrassed ... I've been traveling so much lately I got my ports mixed up....I was certainly talking about BCN Barcelona.
No problema Ashland. I understand completely and have done that also. Just wanted to clarify to the OP. ☺️ And as you have stated, taxis are plentiful in Barcelona.

As stated above, taxis are plentiful in Barcelona. There is a taxi rank at BCN (SJU is San Juan, PR), and at the cruise terminal.
You shouldn't have any problems getting a taxi in Barcelona. Have a wonderful time there!
