  1. So glad! I booked my bachelorette cruise for feb 2022 hoping the vaccine mandates would be gone by then. 4/5 of us are not vaccinated.

I had Covid in Dec 2019 and haven’t gotten it again since, despite 30+ flights, travels to Greece, Egypt, Mexico, my roommates, fiancé, and coworkers all getting it last month and not me. I’m SO happy I didn’t take it.

  2. Thank you all for your answers. So what I got from this is:

    1. If not boosted, you can still cruise but have to show a test within 48 hours of boarding (boosted people get an extra day).

    2. You don't need to show your cards getting on and off the ship at ports, really? That's kind of surprising since you're entering another country.. Has anyone gone to Bonaire, that is one of the countries I saw that won't let you off ship if you're unvaccinated. Maybe they require the vaccine card?

    3. Paper card works fine.

    Am I missing anything?

  3. We are SO excited to FINALLY get back on a ship in February! This will be our first time sailing since 2019. I have some questions regarding showing proof of vaccination. We will be sailing on the Southern Caribbean cruise.

If you do not submit electronically ahead of time, how do they check your proof at embarkation? Is you paper card sufficient enough? Do you have to have a qr code or something, I know I've had some issues in Europe without a qr code on my card, but when they heard I was American since we don't have those on our white cards they just let it go?

What about returning to the ship after being at port. Do we need to bring our vaccine cards along with our passports?

Finally, I don't see anything about boosters. Are they not required? If you only have your first 2 shots from last year but no booster will that be a problem? My friend had blood clots and other issues after her 2nd does and does not want to get the booster.

  4. I did this cruise in Feb 2018 and doing it again in 2023! We LOVED it (But it was on the Sunshine - which I like more than the Horizon)

Aruba was great - definitely do the Jolly Pirates if you can!! So much fun. Curacao was beautiful, we tried to do the blue hole but the tide was too high. Grand turk was gorgeous water and you can just lay on the beach right where you get off, had amazing cheap massages there on the beach. We didn't go to princess cay.

The televisions in the bars have access to a wide variety of channels. While most of them are sports oriented, you could request the ABC broadcast be shown. There are a few dozen broadcasters carrying the broadcast world wide. Some of those signals may be available onboard too. This year the show will be limited to 3 hours, and some of the lesser awards will be handed out during commercials, edited and shown later without the walking and speeches.

Look for me, I'll be wearing a tuxedo.:classic_wink:

Oh wow!! What do you do in the industry? I'm an AE at Universal 🙂 I'm thinking a few of ours/Focus's will have some noms

  6. Hi everyone!

I will be sailing my 3rd cruise on the Carnival Horizon 2/23/18. I have always had interior cabins with 3 girls total which has always worked out fine if not a bit cramped, but was always an adventure! I kind of like sleeping in the pitch black? But I just did a price check and was able to upgrade our sideways cabin 14227 (was kinda looking forward to seeing what it looked like!) to Ocean View walkway cabin 14203 for only $250 each.

Do you think it's worth it? The view is forward which is pretty cool. And its at the bow of the ship so I don't think we'll get much noise or passersby on the walkway? Any tips?

  7. Thanks for sharing so much info. Im traveling on Sunshine with a relative who uses a power chair. We've found an accessible tour in Aruba and we're fine with Grand Turk. My concern is Curacao. How far is it from the ship to the main port area and is there much to see for someone not taking a tour, but instead exploring on their own?

Curacao was definitely the least developed of the ports. The port area was definitely a bit of a journey from the town, however we went on an excursion so we didn't get to walk around town!

  8. How was Grand Turk, and what did you do there?

Our Carnival excursion was canceled so we just went to the beach. You can walk right off the pier and there's 2 gorgeous beaches right there on either side. I chose the right side because it was less crowded. We loved it! I got a 30 min massage right on the beach for $40, which was way cheaper than what Carnival offered. It was a nice relaxing day
