The class (J or W or Y) may be the same, but is the fare bucket the same?  Are the privileges the same (seat selection, cancelation, checked bags)?

Can select seats and free checked bag but not cancelation.  Could pay $200 on Delta for refundable fare and would still be slightly less.  I  really want to book the British Aiways because it is a nonstop flight.  Premium Economy sounds good to us.

  2. We are sailing November 19th on Enchanted Princess. The Medallion app said our medallions were shipped a couple days ago.  I checked the status on the web version and it said to pick up at the port. I am a little disappointed.  I ordered them 2 months ago. This is our first cruise in 3 years and wanted to  have our  medallions ready to go. Atleast I know not to run to the mailbox everyday until we leave.  We just can't wait to get on that ship!!

Flame if you want but this could be a deal breaker for me. I like the buffets because you can try small amounts of new foods and not waste a lot if you don't like it. Why not just have staff serve like when they have a Noro outbreak?

I guess I will just order more food and eat a bit of each and I guess have a lot of waste:( For me trying new foods is a fun part of cruising.

    Me too.

As someone booked on the 2nd cruise after dry dock I would be extremely upset.  I had no idea Equinox was going to dry dock when I booked.

Agreed. I booked what was advertised as a Revolutionized Ship for February. I had debated switching to Edge, but was staying with Equinox for a couple of reasons but the Revolutionizing was a big part. Now I might as well switch to a legit new ship rather than a fake “we only did a little that only the 1% will see” refit. 😞  Or better yet, take my business to another line.

I think they will end up making a LOT more people upset by only doing a portion of the promised stuff than they would by cancelling cruises. That would be a couple of weeks’ worth (and a risk you know you take when you book the first few cruises out of drydock) of people, true. But look at the months of people after who were promised a fully Revolutionized ship who aren’t getting it.

  5. We will arrive in Oslo on Sapphire Princess 9/6/18. I would like to buy the Oslo Pass online. It says to pick up the actual pass at the Visitors Center. Can anyone tell me where the Visitors Center is ? Did you experience long lines?

I thought about using the HOHO bus but everyone says that the public tranportation is very easy to use.

We would like to go to Vigeland park first then take the bus to the Viking Museum and then the Folk museum.

    Thanks for any info/advice.

  6. There's food available most of the time. Why not just grab something? Seems like a lot of trouble just to avoid a room service charge.

Just off LOS.....We couldn't even find anything free to drink after 10PM except water. Other cruise lines at least have a self serve drink dispenser open in the buffet area when the buffet is closed. The only food available was that awful pizza and some sandwiches that we didn't try. The pound cake was good.

I wish I would have thought to take snacks from the lunch buffet.

  7. This is our first stop at Roatan. Has any one just taken a tour when you arrived at the port without booking ahead of time? We are already planning a beach day at another stop. DH isn't crazy about the beach. We can't really decide what we want to do & were thinking we would just go with what we are in the mood for the day we arrive.

  8. If by calm you mean the amount of people in the area, it all depends on how many ships are in port the day you're there. Lobster Alive is right besides The Boatyard with nothing more than a few feet of sand and shrubs between them. They share the same stretch of beach but those that go to The Boatyard tend to stay right in front of the area with their chairs and near their pier. I've been to both and honestly The Boatyard has better facilities like restrooms, fresh water shower to rinse off and the admission price includes the ride back to the ship. Lobster Alive offers no such perks.

Lobster alive is $15 (last there 10/2015) for 2 chairs, umbrella, drink, free WiFi, and complimentary bathroom use (not fancy) never looked for a shower. Yes, you do have to pay for taxi back, $5/pp. Taxis have always been waiting as we walk off the beach. Very quiet. I believe the Boatyard charges a little more for admission. So that covers taxi charge. If you want a lot of toys & music & now I think snorkeling maybe included, the Boatyard would be a better choice. We prefer Lobster Alive. Same beautiful beach. You will love which ever you go to.

  9. Looks like a hopping place. Honestly though would two 71 year old fuddy dudies

    feel comfortable?

We like a quiet area as well, we are in our 50's. We have been to Lobster Alive 2X & will be going there again in Feb. It is a restaurant on Carlisle Bay. You can see The Boatyard from there. We have gotten there before they open & just pick chairs & an umbrella that are already set up. When they open an employee will collect your money ($15-20?) & give you a wrist band. A drink was included I think. There is free WiFi & you can use their bathroom.

Vendors will approach you a few times, we just say no thanks & eventually they leave you alone. Cabs are sitting ready to take you back to the ship when you are ready.

  10. Lester's Diner is a half mile west on SR 84/Marina Mile. The OP has reservations at Embassy Suites, but was freaked out by a post by an anonymous person on an anonymous message board about bed bugs, so now they want to stay at Crowne Plaza.

    .

Right, I consider 1/2 mile walk able. I understand OP is staying at Crowne Plaza, that's why I shared my research. Just sharing opinion about past experience with Embassy Suites area.

  11. We will be staying at the Crowne Plaza airport/cruise port in Feb 2017. I did a Google maps search & Lester's diner is a few blocks away as well as a Walgreen's. Anthony's Pizza looks a little closer. Both Lester's & Anthony's pizza have good reviews on TripAdvisor. We are thinking Anthony's for dinner & Lester's for breakfast, unless the weather is bad. Luckily there is Kiki's in the hotel.

We stayed at Embassy Suites before our last cruise from FLL. 17th st was a nice area with plenty of choices but we are happy with the deal we got on Priceline for the Crowne Plaza.
