  1. We did the Royal Swim this time last week at Chankanaab in Cozumel (just took a cab there having booked online, cheaper then NCL excursion to Dolphinaris and NCL to Dolphinaris didn't offer the Royal Swim either). This is the photo of my son doing the foot push - now my new favourite photo! :D

  2. While the time changes are a bit of a pain, there are definite benefits. We were in Belize the same time as two Carnival ships which had not changed their clocks and all the Carnival passengers on our local excursion were in a panic to get back to port as they had an hour less, whereas we had leisurely time to get back and then shop/drinks at the port. Plus the time mostly goes back before ports where you have to get up early for trips, definitely a bonus to have that extra hour.

  3. We are just back from staying in exactly this suite the week after you! We were 6 Brits (me & husband, my Mum & Dad, our boys 8 & 11) and loved it - the suite, the service, the food and drinks, the Haven. I intend to write a review although I could virtually copy/paste your review - I agree with so much of it (and I'm too jet lagged at the moment having only landed back in Blighty earlier today). Anyway, I wave to you as one happy suite 16112 cruiser to another :-).

  4. OP, just checking, it sounds like you are thinking this suite sleeps 2(bedroom 1)+2 (sofabed lounge)+2(teen+sis in Bedroom 2) - and sorry if I've not understood that right? But it actually sleeps 2(bedroom 1)+1 (single lounge sofabed)+3(double bedroom 2 sofabed+pull down bed in bedroom 2). Will that work for you?

We stayed 4 of us in the Epic 2BR and that second bedroom would be fine for an adult and child (perfect), but you'll not have enough beds if you do that. You'll need 2 adults in there + a child.

We are planning on taking 6 of us on the Getaway in a 2BR and the grandparents will stay in bedroom 2 with a child. (Not to hijack, but does anyone know how the ladder up to the bunk fits in when the room is set up for 3, and if you can actually access the 2nd bathroom with the bed down as a double?).

It will be very tight I know but we would rather stay in 1 suite in the Haven than 2 regular cabins and can't afford 2 Haven suites. So we are happy to stay like that. We do all get on though!

  5. Just off the Epic yesterday having done this cruise in a 2BR Haven Family Suite - best cruise I've been on, amazing holiday. I believe you can disembark as soon as the Epic has cleared checks at the port, if I recall the priority disembarkation notice from the Concierge said we could disembark anytime between 6am and 9.15am. We got off near 9am and even at that time we got straight off, no queue, straight through port, short queue for taxi (10mins - this would be much less/non-existent at 6am I think), approx. 30 mins to BCN. Standard 39Euro set fee port to BCN. Hope that helps. Enjoy!

  6. Just back from the Epic yesterday. Fabulous kids crew on board. Sons 7 and 10 years old loved it and were sad whenever we picked them up. One day we gave them the option of visiting Mallorca with us or staying in Splash Academy and the question was hardly out of my mouth before they shouted Splash Academy. No problem with them being there while in port - fully open and no extra charge. Yes you do need to pay if you want kids club to take them to eat but we simply took ours to Garden Café for an early dinner in the 5-7pm slot, then signed them in to Splash Academy at 7pm and then went for our grown up dinner if we wanted to do that. The 6-9s and 10-12s did the same activities on this cruise but my 10 yr old thought these were lots of fun (circus skills, pillow fights, create your own country) and not at all babyish. Thoroughly recommend.
