We're definitely going to stay away from the centrum, despite the attractive balconies.

Now I'm looking at 8044 or 8544... forward, near the stairs, but slightly different shape of the balcony. Thoughts?

DH and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary with a holiday trip on beautiful Jewel OTS.

We are set on a balcony cabin (right price and right size for us) but having a hard time picking the optimum cabin in our category.

We have previously sailed in connecting JS on deck 10 and did not enjoy the rumble of noise from above.

I wanted to book something lower deck than 10, not adjoining and towards the aft. I selected 7652 because of the interesting looking balcony but now we're having our doubt about being directly above club/bar type venues.

Before I call royal, what would be your first choice balcony cabin on deck8? Or is there a compelling reason to go to another deck?

There are a few here with extended balconies that have me intrigued.

We were in a JS on deck 10 this time and the only complaint I had was the noise from the pull deck chairs being slid across the floor, the noise came right into our room was disruptive at times.

 

 

 

On our next cruise I've booked a balcony on deck 8 in hopes that the floors between will eliminate the noise! :)

We were on Jewel in a JS on Deck 10 a few years ago and I had the same complaint! I thought we were hearing food/dish carts being rolled around. It wasn't sleep-disrupting but it was a noticeable background noise.

Call me crazy... You're Crazy... But didn't the bar in Vortex rotate around??? Or am I thinking of another ship... Our first cruise ever was on Jewel and we are revisiting her in a few weeks.

I was thinking the same thing! It used to rotate, we took a spin in 2012!

A balcony on navigator would NOT fit two cribs. We had to move the coffee table to fit one PNP. A Jr suite or two connecting cabins is probably a better choice for space.

We loved the Jewel and Adventure with much younger kids. The adventure would probably be better for your group, but she was really showing her age (maybe has gone in since then tho?). Jewel is just stunning.

My just turned 3 year old loved swimming at Magen's Bay in St Thomas!

On RCI the pull out sofa was very, very low to the ground and perfect for my 3 year old. We used a ship PNP for my 1 year old.

Wow, so sorry to hear. Thanks for the info. We've considered X but have such a good experience on RCI we haven`t jumped over yet!

Let them know you're traveling with a child without car seat and that you require the bus. We did it in Tampa and they were like "oh no car seat, we have a bus for that!" and it was no big deal.

I've had it! The first time I felt my balance was off for almost a week, but I don't recall it being as noticeable on recent trips.

So excited to read this!!!! We're following in your footsteps just a few weeks later!!!

Was there a behind the scenes tour offered? I can't find anything about it... I quite enjoyed it on the Jewel and would love to do it again.
