  1. My family and I are going to the western Caribbean in November 2018. Most of the upcoming ports are new to us. Please rate the top 3 stops for snorkeling. We don't have firm plans for any of our stops but will be taking our own snorkeling gear so would like to go in at least 3 of the ports.

    Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas

    Falmouth, Jamaica

    Georgetown, Grand Cayman

    Harvest Caye, Belize

    Roatan, Honduras

    Costa Maya, Mexico

    Cozumel, Mexico

  2. I agree, PBR barely qualifies as a beer. Kinda like Boone's Farm barely qualifies as wine. It's what I drank when in the Navy because I was too poor to buy anything worth drinking....

During the 11 days we were on vacation, sadly I only had one single little beer. While doing some shopping in Curacao, a shop owner offered me a Heineken. It was really hot out, the beer was cold (and free) so I drank it. I'd rather not drink any beer unless it tastes good. The Heineken was mediocre at best.

The pub idea aboard the Quantum of the seas is an interesting idea. A couple of the brews look good. Flying Dog, Stone and Founders make some respectable beers. Suprisingly, not a single IPA on their line-up. I'd be more willing to drink an IPA or IIPA on a warm weather cruise than a Great Divide Stout.

  3. Anyone have some insight on what items are served in main dining on the Norwegian Sun? A picture of a menu board would be great!!

We're not picky eaters and not planning on eating in the specialty restaurants. We'll likely do main dining for all meals onboard unless something in the buffet looks better. We'll do lunches ashore when in ports.

  4. I found a list of recommended beers on a travel website. The list includes Balashi, Hairoun, Carib, Medalla Light, Kalik and Kubuli.

The Hairoun is not being made anymore. All sound rather dismal according to beeradvocate except for Carib and possibly Kubuli which sound drinkable but not great.

    Input anyone?

  5. I'm trying to figure out what beers to try on our cruise next month. We're going to Columbia, Aruba, St Maarten, St Thomas, and Curacao. Are there local beers that are really outstanding?

I'm from the beer capital of the northwest (Central Oregon) and also homebrew. I don't care for lagers but if it's 90 degrees plus with high humidity, I suppose I could choke one down.

    What would your choices be?

  6. Looks like the Westin offers a day pass or there's always Pinel Island. Anything other resorts that offer a day pass?

The reviews of this Westin look horrible eventhough cruisecritic recommends them for a day pass resort.

  7. A couple years ago when we were in Cozumel we had an additional 5 boats in port. We decided to book the day at Nachi Cocum so we wouldn't have to deal with thousands of other tourists. Is there something similar in St Maarten? There are another 5 boats in port the same day we will be there. Don't need to leave the island but is there something "off the beaten path" to do with a teenager?
