We have the post extension but I just asked guest services about your situation and the answer was “It depends.” If there are enough people, they do a bus excursion to see the highlights of Buenos Aries before going to the airport. As of yet, nothing has been confirmed for the Polaris.

Thank you very much for going out of your way to help us.  All of the heads up and what to expect are very valuable to our Polaris sailing.  We are currently experiencing the big swell.  We visit the hanger today, super excited that we will get to play with the toys soon.

Enjoy your post cruise, have a safe and unadventurous flight home.

  2. All set and ready for the trip.  Last questions for OneSixtyToOne, may I trouble you to give some insight on the return flight from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires?  Not sure do you have any post cruise stay in Argentina.  If you don't, can you please let me know does Viking just leave you waiting at EZE until your flight departs or there is some kind of city tour available?  My flight is at 10 pm, want to know what I can do to pass time.

Once again, thank you for all of the insight tips.  I wish you continue good weather and safe journey.

Grill and Sushi Bar are part of the WC. No one is dressed up.  Very casual. Make sure you bring cold weather gear. It very cold on deck and the wind chill is brutal. Wool cap and a neck gator to cover your face is essential. Woke up to 39 degrees with ice in the water. We saw a penguin yesterday. Visiting Pio XI glacier today.

Thank you very very much.  You just saved more rooms in luggage.

  4. I agreed with aungrl, all of the commentary and photo make me very excited.  I can't wait to experience all of them in a week.

OneSixtyToOne - Sorry for being a problem child, but I have more questions.  Is the "grill" inside the World Cafe (WC)?  Do you need to dress up for the WC?  Is jeans and sneaker ok?  Want to know how many dressy clothing I need to pack if I will be eating mostly at the buffet.  I will have at least one more question on departure, which I plan on asking towards the end of the week.  Don't want you to think about the end of the cruise so early.  Thank you for all of the commentary and wonderful pictures.

  5. I am sure that any Chinese travelling on one of our legs, would be very offended..

I know of one on our 13th and 29th May roll that would be for sure...

I am Chinese myself, but I am from HK. There is a difference between Chinese people from various part of the world. The locust term is used to refer to the Chinese people from mainland China. I don't want to be prejudices, it is hard not to do when you experience and read the ridiculous things they do when they travel.

My point is just that RCCL shouldn't make the renovation during the repo especially when the ship is brand new. We bought the ticket for the itinerary and what the ship has to offer.

  6. I am on the May 13 cruise and is very disappointed with the changes. I understand that China is a big market, but RCCL should not disappoint the US and UK customers. This group is their bread and butter. If no one from this group will go on RCCL ever again, they will not survived on the China market alone. Don't they know how the China people trashes the things? They are known as locust, nothing will survives after they leave. The ship will be so wore out, that is mind as well be 10 years older.

One of the reason I am taking this cruise now is I can't image what the ship will look like after it comes back from China. It seems like there are many changes in Celebrity too. When I was on the Constellation last year, the service was horrible. Service is one of the advertising thing in Celebrity. I am a loyal customer in both Celebrity and RCCL, with the recent experience I am definitely seeking other cruise line.

  7. Venice is a walking city. From the cruise port to Piazzale Roma is about a half mile, you can walk this or take the People Mover (elevated tram). From Piazzale Roma to Piazza San Marco is about a mile and a half, which you can do on foot or via a vaporetto along the Grand Canal.

Thank you for the info. I will help me plan my trip.

  8. Lovely pictures, really looking forward to go in May fo the very first time.

Need some help with the DIY walking tour. Will we be able to walk from the cruise port into town or to attraction like Piazza San Marco? or we need connecting transportion? How far is the walk? I am sure I will have more questions when I do more research. Thanks-in-advance for any help you or others can provide.
