  1. I just completed a 10 day Celebrity Land/Cruise in Jun of this year. We left out of Vancouver and did the inside passage for 7 days. Then the land portion was outstanding. Great driver and tour guide. Taleekana Lodge was the best. Grand Denali was OK. The bus/train ride back to Anchorage was the best. Unbelievable prime rib, best Bloodymary I have had in a long time. We got to see Mt McKinnley (which it was called before the name was changed yesterday) all three days we were there. We were very fortunate according to our guide. Never been on Princess so I can't compare but Celebrity does it right. Food on the ship was outstanding and the scenery/wildlife was unbelievable.

    Hope this helps.

  2. I thought I'd add my two cents. We were on the Millennium in June. We've eaten in the Olympic Several times over the years. The chateau brean (Sp) (That may be the worst spelling of Chateau Brean) was absolutely the best on the planet. There are plenty of dinner times available so waiting till you are on board is no problem. The charge is $50 PP but stall on saying yes and they'll drop the price tot $40 or $45. Be sure to take a camera. The staff will be happy to take pictures of the special occasion. Have a great cruise.

  3. Joust returned from an Vancouver to Anchorage with three days on land to Denali and Mt MC Kinley with concierge cabin 9122. The cruise and food and entertainment were outstanding but the land portion was the greatest. We got clear weather for three days in Denali and got some amazing shots, even at 2:30 AM it looked like dusk.

The only place it rained was Kechikan but it always rains there. I'm not sure what the difference in price is for an inside cabin but you can save some money that way.

The Millennium is still a beautiful ship. Well maintained. Happy crew. Entertainment everywhere. Hope this helps you.

  4. I believe that if you are less than a year out from your cruise (10 months out or less), the likelihood that a cruise becomes chartered is highly unlikely, particularly for the larger S-class ships. The charter itself needs to have enough time to make the necessary sales prior to the sailing date.

Charters are going to happen any any cruise line, and with cruises bookable 18 months out, some passengers are going to always be affected. It appears Celebrity's policies in re-booking the affected passengers is not in line with other cruise lines, and it's inflexibility towards their passengers who are wishing to re-book on another ship at the same rate/benefits is disappointing.

Thanks for you video from New Zealand and Australia. I'm going there in January.

  5. I'm on this tour this year in September. It will be my first time on the Solstice but 5th Celebrity cruise. Don't know about your cabin question. We usually do Concierge class. If you want to give me your email address, I'd be happy to tell you about the cruise. You can email me at RMTJGT@Gmail.com.

  6. Just back from Alaska 10 day (7 on ship & 3 on Land). Everything was outstanding! Food, Cabin, Entertainment, Embarcation, Land tour. Even got to see Mt McKinley on two days, which was very rare. Weather cooperated except in Ketchican which is not unusual because they get 13 FEET of rain a year.

This was the friendliest crew I have ever seen. Always smiling and saying "Hello".

Enjoyed every aspect from Vancouver embarkation to Land Tour completion in Anchorage and transfer to the Airport. I strongly recommend Celebrity.

  7. I just got back from the Millennium north bound with a 3day land tour to Denali. I can not speak highly enough about the ship and itinerary. Depending on the date you chose, you can do it south bound with the land tour before your cruise. Everything about the Millie is outstanding (Food, Crew, Entertainment, Ship Condition). As a matter of fact, we saw the Infinity going in the other direction one evening. We lucked out on the land tour because Mt McKinley was totally clear and showing on both days we went by it. That is supposed to be very rare. It was beautiful as is all the scenery in Alaska.

    I hope this helps you.

PS Hubbard glacier is worth the trip.

  8. We are on the 5 Jun 15 north bound cruise on Millennium. I love your review. I feel like I almost have taken the cruise. Actually, this is our second inside passage but we are doing the 3 day land package to Denally this time. Your pics are great. Third time on Mille. She is a great ship and now that she has been updated to Soltice class, I'm looking forward to seeing her again since it's been 4 years since we were on her. We're going into Vancouver a day early to see some of the beautiful sights of the city. Well. I just wanted to let you know that you have another fan. Great writing style.
