Orient beach is on the other side of island than Maho Beach. You can catch a taxi to Maho Beach for $16 round trip or take a mini tour of the island with short stops for about $30. I just got back Sat from sailing the Valor.

I am 100% with you, because I am very sensitive to the smoke. I can't go into the casino and even being in the hall outside of it is difficult. I would 100% choose a smoke free Carnival cruise ship if I had a choice.

Not to sound rude here but if your sensitive to smoke then that big thing puffing out smoke (the funnel or better know as the smoke stack) would make your breathing difficult all over the ship.

I agree with Jeff. You have to spend the time at the tables and make sure the pit bosses are doing their jobs. Why? The pit bosses have to input what your betting. When they swipe your card when you sit down and then when you leave they take you "out" will give them total time at the table and then when they input your bets they will use some math and get your average per hour. Also going with Jeff said, dont play for the comps. You will lose every time. Ive had people say you got a free cruise, drinks, etc. Let me tell you that I could have bought a couple cruises for the free cruise I won and a $20 bottle of wine is nothing. Play to play.

Dora, I agree. I have used on Breeze twice and the Sensation a couple week ago so they are rolling it out but I dont have an updated list. Hope some recent cruisers can answer. This is one of those times where the Carnival reps have no idea.

No Hal, you are correct. More like I have had the same experience and I do the same thing for the same reason, I call it the walk of shame, when I go spend just over an hour at the slots. Sad we have to that but Ive spent 4-6 hours a night at the tables and told well you only had 2 hours total time. Im also finding that some ships the pit bosses just plain suck. They dont what little they should be doing anymore.

Balcony and inside cabins have the same square footage inside. Carnival just doesn't put couches in most inside rooms. Exceptions are porthole and rooms for 3 people

Thanks for that trip down memory lane. I miss the documents package and nice luggage tags. As someone also said, they will print them our for you for $25 bucks.

I have a cruise already booked in Nov on the Sunshine and then in Feb an NCL. My cruise dollars will not be going to CCL. Of course I will still sail them when the deal is good but will not be my first choice

Free drinks are hard to come by on the ships unless you get one of the cards. A host may by you a drink one night and not the next. Its important to remember they dont treat you as well as when your gambling at a land based casino.

One never tips people they don't interact with. Don't let a cruise line tell you how to tip.

A voice of reason. I always said the same before and had the comments removed by the board. I just love how the first thing most say is dont be cheap, etc. They all forget what a TIP is, its not a wage. I too only tip those whose provide me service directly. For those who claim that im shorting the dishwasher or the guy who cleans the floors. I ask, the last time you went out to eat, did you tip the hostess, the dishwasher, the maintenance staff, the server, window washer, etc. We all know the answer.,

I don't know I would say that one price fits all. First, you don't have to tip and I have had many that just would not accept one, plain and simple. Others, I have felt went above the norm of just being their and doing their job. They made sure my children were engaged and having a good time. Taking the time to treat them as individuals and not a hive mind. Those I have tipped. So, like any service, remember a tip is what it is, doing more than required. A tip isn't for doing their job, that's called a paycheck. Tip when they earn it

Thanks for the replies, guys and gals. Samantha, I have noticed in your other posts about NCL's perks and you have got me thinking it about that time to try them out. I just don't understand the logic of Carnival. I too have played at land based casino's and gotten free return visits plus perks. Ill spend more in the casino then the cruise costs. Thanks again for the help.

I just got off the phone with the players club to check on next cruise perks and was informed that because this was a free cruise (from the players club, got letter on ship) that I dint qualify for anything. Now, don't get me wrong, love getting a cruise for free but I earned that with my play and even being a free cruise I should get something. Anyone else had this happen or should I call back?

Epic Rock was a good show. The backdrops and dancer or dancers was synced perfectly and it was looked awesome. To me the sets were done right from some of the videos the songs used from MTV. It was a nice change from some of the tired shows in the past.
