  1. Thanks to everyone for the info. I use a mobility scooter and we were originally in a HC SY cabin. Two days ago, I got an email for an upgrade at a price that we could afford. I didn't think I would be able to upgrade because usually all the HC cabins are booked, but to my surprise there was one Aft HC cabin available. Since we are celebrating our 30th anniversary, we decided to upgrade and see how we like the Aft stateroom. The Pinnacle breakfast and the in-suite high tea appeals to me because it is difficult for me to do the "buffet" type meal. I hope more people will chime in with any and all suggestions for our upcoming cruise.

My wife has a handicap scooter, also we love the aft cabins in fact our next cruise we will in up spending 145 days in it. You can go to main dining room and up to the ledo easly

The door is wider (our scooter is only 22 inch but door in a standard is only 23.5 inch?- HC is main is 32.5 inch & bathroom door is 32.5 inch on the AMSTERDAM. You should receive a letter for your ship.

  3. From what I was told, yes. I think it is included in the price of the cruise. I know that we have only had to pay for pre cruise hotels when we booked V category staterooms and full hotel cost for post cruise stays.

I specifically asked her about the cost of hotels since this is the first time that we have booked a specific stateroom in SC and SB categories. That is when she told me the SC gets a discounted pre cruise hotel and the SB gets the pre cruise free. I asked her why SC is not included in the free pre hotel since according to HAL, SA, SB and SC are all Deluxe Verandah Suite Staterooms and she said the SC's while considered the same category are not for hotels.

Hope this makes sense to you... It did to me when she explained it, and now knowing that I only have to pay for my post cruise hotels makes it a lot easier, and cheaper for us:)

FYI though ---- IF you are cruising out of Vancouver, but flying into Seattle, the hotels ARE NOT paid for!!! The discount/Free hootels only apply to the Port city you are departing from. We are flying into Seattle for one of the cruises (SC stateroom category May 2011) and will be taking the HAL bus from Sea/Tac airport to the Vancouver port, so we will be flying in the day before and paying our own hotel. The bus is only available the day of your cruise. They no longer do a hotel and bus transfer package. Cost of the Bus transfer from Sea/Tac Airport to Ship is $130.00 per person R/T.

Question, did you understand that this applys to any cruise Port city you are departing from?? Or does it apply only for cruises to Alaska from the Northwest?

I asked my TA (a good one) and it was news to her.

  4. You can also buy them direct from Trac.

Watch their sales during the holidays they are offering free double your minutes phones. Some times the phone is free. I have one that will take pictures.

    I have one which every year I buy one year service card -- 200 + 200 + 100 extra or 500 minutes for $100.

I only use it when we travel, emergency, when I am doing the shopping & find something on sale. Never had a problem in getting service out of town or in USA ports.
